Justice League Deleted Scenes Could Be Used For Cyborg Solo Movie

One of the characters who was most shortchanged in Justice League was Ray Fisher’s Cyborg. As DC fans have been bemoaning ever since the disappointing movie released in November, many key scenes featuring Victor Stone that original director Zack Snyder shot were left on the cutting room floor when Joss Whedon took over and completed the film in his own way.

In particular, there was much less about Victor’s past – including the car crash that left him near death and his subsequent transformation into a cyborg – than we’d been led to believe we’d see from the early trailers. While speaking to /Film, Joe Morton revealed that he had shot many more scenes as Vic’s father Dr. Silas Stone, but he kept mum about what they contained as he revealed that they may feed into Warner Bros.’ planned Cyborg movie.

“Unfortunately, I can’t tell you what [the original story] is because that might end up being in part of the Cyborg movie. Yes, there was a big change once they decided that they were going to do the Cyborg film.”

There hasn’t been too much talk of a solo project for the former Teen Titan for a while, which led to rumors that Ray Fisher was walking away from the DC universe. However, there hasn’t been a formal cancellation of the Cyborg pic just yet and Morton certainly seems to believe that it’s still on the horizon. In fact, the actor went on to tease what the thrust of the film will be, saying that Cyborg will explore Stone’s family life and the experiments that led to his new cybernetic body.

“I think the idea is to deal more with his family so you watch the evolution of him becoming Cyborg.”

There’s certainly a lot of potential to make a good movie starring the character. At the very least, we need another appearance from Fisher – or maybe that elusive Snyder cut – in order to wash away the bad taste of Justice League. That movie’s treatment of the character was so poor, in fact, that it even created a great big plot hole in DCEU continuity.
