LG’s rollable TV finally goes on sale for $87,000
LG has announced that its world-first rollable TV is finally going on sale, albeit in limited fashion. The 65-inch LG Signature OLED R is now available at seven consumer electronics store throughout South Korea and will cost 100 million won, or more than $87,000.
The Signature OLED R is built around a flexible OLED panel that LG describes with characteristic restraint as “the most innovative development in television technology in decades.” Because of its flexible nature, it can retract partially or fully into its base, adapting to different aspect ratios or hiding the panel completely when not in use.
“LG’s exquisite creation liberates users from the limitations of the wall, enabling owners to curate their living...

The Big Lebowski And Iron Man Star Jeff Bridges Announces Cancer Diagnosis
Jeff Bridges, who most will probably know from The Big Lebowski, Tron: Legacy, Crazy Heart and countless other films (don’t forget that he was also in Marvel’s Iron Man) has announced tonight that he’s been diagnosed with Lymphoma.
Taking to Twitter, the actor shared the saddening news, writing:
As the Dude would say.. New S**T has come to light.
I have been diagnosed with Lymphoma. Although it is a serious disease, I feel fortunate that I have a great team of doctors and the prognosis is good.
I’m starting treatment and will keep you posted on my recovery.
— Jeff Bridges (@TheJeffBridges) October 20, 2020
Bridges then followed that up with another tweet, expressing his gratitude towards his family and friends, while also encouraging folks to vote in the upcoming US election.
I’m profoundly grateful for the love and support from my family and friends.
Thank you for your prayers and well wishes. And, while I have you, please remember to go vote. Because we are all in this together. https://t.co/6sAU4MYixl
Love, Jeff
— Jeff Bridges (@TheJeffBridges) October 20, 2020
We probably don’t need to tell you that as far as actors go, Jeff Bridges is basically a legend. Over the course of his career, he’s been nominated for no less than seven acting Academy Awards and won Best Actor in a Leading Role in 2010 for his incredible performance as a country music legend struggling with alcoholism in Scott Cooper’s Crazy Heart.
Beyond that, he’s also scored multiple Golden Globe wins, nominations at the Emmys, BAFTAs and more. Like we said, Bridges is acting royalty and has even extended his talents to music, releasing several albums, with the most recent one coming in 2015. And even in his old age, he hasn’t slowed down much.
The 70-year-old actor appeared in 2018’s Bad Times at the El Royale and prior to that, had 3 projects release in 2017, including Kingsman: The Golden Circle. Not to mention the year before that, in 2016, he gave a terrific performance in Hell or High Water.
To hear of his cancer diagnosis is certainly upsetting, and he didn’t reveal anything else about it aside from what you see in those tweet above, but we wish Jeff Bridges all the best and hope that he can make a quick and smooth recovery.

The Mandalorian and Baby Yoda’s adventures continue in brand new look at season two
The Mandalorian’s second season is just days away from premiering on Disney Plus, and a new trailer for the Star Wars series teases what fans can expect.
Most of the trailer focused on the Mando’s continued adventures with the Child, including an ominous moment where he’s warned that the worlds he’s trying to visit are no places for a child. Much like executive producers Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni teased in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the show looks like it will tackle more substantial narrative lines than we got in the first season.
Picking up essentially where the last season left off, The Mandalorian’s second season will explore a much “larger story in the world,” according to Favreau. While many of the episodes in the...

After outcry, Microsoft presses pause on unsolicited Windows 10 web app installs
On Saturday, I pointed out how Microsoft force-restarting Windows 10 computers to install unwanted web apps was the latest proof you don’t own your own Windows PC. Today, the company says it was at least partly a mistake — and will be pausing the “migration” that brought web apps to your Start Menu this way.
Originally, Microsoft tells The Verge, the idea was that any website you pinned to the Start Menu would launch in Microsoft Edge. If your website of choice had a PWA web app version, the Edge browser could automatically launch that as well. But — in what Microsoft seems to be calling a bug, though we’re trying to get clarity as to which part was the bug — the change also made it look like existing web shortcuts to its own Microsoft...

New Scientific Study Reveals The 5 Biggest Jump Scares Of All-Time
Deciding upon the most unsettling horror films is a tough business, given the subjectivity of the genre. A recent study, however, which is probably pushing the boundaries of “scientific,” has used a survey of people’s heart rates while watching scary movies to establish some of the best and most impactful experiences for viewers.
While the list is restricted to the Top 50 highest-rated items on different review platforms, it’s already thrown up some intriguing data. One part of the report focused on which of the titles gave the biggest jump scares to participants, and there are some good choices to be found.
Measured by the highest beats per minute (BPM) in a particular viewing, the five winners are, in order of jumpiness:
- Insidious – 133 BPM
- Sinister – 131 BPM
- The Exorcist III – 130 BPM
- The Conjuring – 129 BPM
- The Descent – 122 BPM
Looking at these pictures, it’s pretty straightforward to guess what those particular scenes might be. For 2010’s Insidious, it’s likely one of the times when Rose Byrne’s Renai races to investigate strange activity around her baby, and a figure is glimpsed in different parts of the room, or possibly when the red face demon pops up behind Patrick Wilson’s Josh. As you might have guessed, there’re a lot of jump scares in Insidious.
By comparison, Sinister offers up perhaps fewer shocking moments, but I’d put my money on the heart rate spike coming due to an event midway through the story where a tied up body suddenly appears in front of a lawnmower. Fourth-placed The Conjuring, meanwhile, uses much the same approach, throwing in a load of different frights to unnerve audiences, with probably the most terrifying being when hands clap behind Carolyn while she’s in the basement.
While the three films above highlight the over-abundance of the device in modern horror, 1990’s underrated classic The Exorcist III has one perfectly timed scene where a nun bursts out of a door carrying shears. Similarly, The Descent is built around claustrophobic dread, but has several standout adrenaline shots, including an impalement by metal rod, and the reveal of the film’s underground creatures.
It’s perhaps not a surprise, then, that most of the jump scares here are in Blumhouse-related productions, which arguably deploy them excessively across their runtimes. Although this doesn’t take away from their impact, it does raise the question of whether it’s better to have a few carefully selected shocks, or so many that you get worn down by them.

WB Reportedly Wants Matt Reeves To Do His Own Superman Movie
After Ben Affleck’s tenure in the cape and cowl failed to become a bit hit with general audiences, The Batman is set to relaunch the Dark Knight on the big screen, with Warner Bros. hoping that they can recapture the glory days of Christopher Nolan’s trilogy with Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne and Matt Reeves in the director’s chair. In fact, it’s possible that the studio has so much faith in the filmmaker that they’re willing to trust him with that other DC tentpole character, Superman.
We Got This Covered has heard from reliable sources – the same ones who previously informed us that a Green Lantern show is coming to HBO Max and that Ben Affleck was returning as Batman – that Warner Bros. is making use of the establishing of the multiverse in The Flash movie to open the door to an alternate Superman movie, much like The Batman is set in its own continuity separate from the DCEU.
Given this, something they’re considering is inviting Reeves to direct his own take on Superman down the road. We haven’t had it specified that this Supes film would take place in the same universe as The Batman, but it would make the most sense. Especially as recent set photos heavily suggest that the Man of Steel already exists in the world of Robert Pattinson’s Caped Crusader (see below).
The concept of asking a Batman director to relaunch the Superman franchise after they’re done playing in the Batcave is something WB have tried twice before. Tim Burton was attached to direct Nicolas Cage in Superman Lives before that was canned, and Nolan later served as producer on Man of Steel. So, if they like what they’re seeing of his film so far, it’s no surprise that execs are ready to hand Reeves the keys to the Fortress of Solitude, as well.
Whether Reeves will be interested or if this potential Superman project will come to anything, though, is another question. But we’re hearing that this is an avenue WB are pursuing at this stage.
