List of phones with side-mounted fingerprint sensors
Fingerprint readers are perhaps the most utilitarian addition to phones in the last five years. In the early days, the most popular position for these readers used to be on the front, right below the screen where there were clubbed with the home button. The simple approach, however, wasn’t tenable with the war against bezels. […]

Facebook reveals overhauled Oculus Quest system UI
With the Game Developers Conference not taking place as planned, Facebook is instead making a series of Oculus-related announcements this week through what it’s calling the Game Developers Showcase. The first big news, however, is mostly about Facebook’s own software: the Oculus Quest is getting a major UI overhaul that the company says represents “a step toward VR becoming the next computing platform.”
Right now, the Quest’s main UI involves a somewhat confusingly arranged floating menu system that appears in a virtual living room whenever you push the Oculus button. The new menu looks to be stripped down and easier to navigate, and it can also be brought up right inside apps to access system functionality without returning to the home...

Justice League’s Amy Adams Says She’s Open To Playing Lois Lane Again
The critical and commercial failure of Justice League definitely sent ripples through the DCEU. Though half of the team managed to survive the mess, with Jason Momoa’s Aquaman, Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman and (hopefully) Ezra Miller’s Flash getting their own franchises, the other half weren’t so lucky. Ray Fisher’s presumed to have been let go as Cyborg, Ben Affleck’s hung up Batman’s cape and Henry Cavill… Well, we’re not really sure what’s happening with his Superman.
Neither is his co-star Amy Adams. The actress played Lois Lane three times – Man of Steel, Batman v Superman and JL – over the years, but she’s not entirely sure whether she’ll get the chance to portray the intrepid reporter for a fourth occasion. Adams told Empire Magazine that she was “totally open” to return to the part, but noted that, as far as she knows, Warner Bros. has got something else planned. “I think [the studio is] moving in a different direction, from my understanding,” she explained.
This echoes comments the star has made before. Back in 2018, Adams was asked a similar question and commented that she believed WB was “revamping” the Superman corner of the DCEU. The fact that her position hasn’t changed since then just shows how the Kryptonian’s franchise has been put on hold by the studio ever since Justice League derailed their plans. It sounds a lot like Adams knows about as much as we do about the whole situation.
Reports have been circling ever since Justice League that Cavill is done as Superman, but the British actor himself maintains that he’s still holding on to the part and wishes to come back for another solo movie as the hero. Presumably ,it’s all on WB to make up their minds whether they want to continue with what they’ve already established or start afresh. Until then, it seems Cavill, Adams and the fans will have to keep hoping for the best.

Google is delaying the launch of its coronavirus information website to later this week
Google has made the call to slightly delay the launch of its informational coronavirus website to “later this week.” The site, which the search giant had not planned on making until last week, has been at the center of a swirl of contention between President Donald Trump, Google, and the press since the president first said a site where people could check symptoms, arrange a test, and get test results was coming from Google, but was actually referring to a much more limited site from Google sister company Verily.
Now, a Google spokesperson tells The Verge the company wants to take a little more time to fill out the features of this new informational site. It’s also true that so much has happened in the past 24 hours that Google wanted to...

The group includes Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, Microsoft, Reddit, Twitter, and YouTube. All seven companies sent out a joint statement Monday evening announcing the effort.
“We are working closely together on COVID-19 response efforts,” the joint statement reads. “We’re helping millions of people stay connected while also jointly combating fraud and misinformation about the virus, elevating authoritative content on our platforms, and sharing critical updates in coordination with government healthcare agencies around the world. Sonic The Hedgehog’s Now The Highest-Grossing Video Game Movie In The US
Perhaps fortunate to have avoided the current wave of delays and cancellations for new films and events, Sonic the Hedgehog achieved another milestone today by being officially confirmed as the highest-grossing video game movie in history. The Paramount-produced pic had already taken the record as having the best opening weekend for a video game adaptation, but has now overtaken Detective Pikachu as the highest earner in the United States. So far, Sonic has hauled in grosses of $145.8 million, putting it ahead of Detective Pikachu‘s $144.1 million.
Of course, this is just the US figure and the worldwide crown is still with Pikachu for now. Given that Sonic hasn’t been released yet in China, and may not be for some time, these figures could change in the next year. In any case, the ongoing box office success of Sonic will only further motivate Paramount in their plans for sequels, including a reported spinoff for Knuckles. Sonic‘s commercial success with audiences may also surprise those who saw last year’s much-criticized trailer, which led to the blue hedgehog’s redesign.
Sure, Sonic has benefited from the current climate of cancellations at the box office, but it still seems clear that the Jeff Fowler-directed picture managed to blend blockbuster appeal with nostalgia for fans. The future also looks bright for more video game adaptations, from a Super Smash Bros. movie to a much-anticipated Resident Evil series on Netflix. For fans, though, the dream still appears to be making a decent Mario movie, which could become a reality through an animated venture that might be available in 2022.
For now, we’re just happy that Sonic the Hedgehog has been able to shake off its initial negative publicity and find success in theaters. We don’t have a home release date yet for the movie, but given that many studios are fast-tracking their titles to streaming, we may also get Sonic sooner than expected.

Netflix To Perform Deep Clean Of The Witcher Set After Star Gets Coronavirus
After Tom Hanks, his wife Rita Wilson and, of course, Idris Elba, The Witcher and Game of Thrones star Kristopher Hivju is the latest celebrity to test positive for the COVID-19 virus.
It’s been a tough week for worldwide communities in their battle against the novel coronavirus outbreak. As of now, there’ve been more than 100,000 confirmed cases outside of China, with European countries and the United States turning into the next epicenters for the ongoing pandemic. As a result, many companies and studios have halted production on their films and TV shows, or even postponed their premiere dates, but perhaps the most shocking blow to the entertainment industry was the news that Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson had tested positive for COVID-19.
Earlier today, Idris Elba was also revealed to have contracted the infectious disease and GOT alum Kristopher Hivju just announced that he’s the latest person to fall victim to the coronavirus. As you may know, Hivju was cast recently in the second season of Netflix’s The Witcher, which is why the streaming juggernaut has just revealed that they’re planning to carry out a deep clean on set at Arborfield Studios.
“We paused production prior to becoming aware of this, but as a further precaution we will be closing production offices and Arborfield immediately and arranging for deep cleaning and disinfection,” they said in an email.
The email also advised the crew to quarantine themselves for 14 days while maintaining that they’ll contact the people who were in close proximity with the “individual” who’s caught the disease:
“We are in the process of contacting those who were in close contact with the relevant individual. However, due to the nature of this production, it is recommended that crew and cast self-quarantine for 14 days, monitor their temperature, and seek medical advice if they experience any symptoms.”
Netflix had already shut down production on the second season of The Witcher, but it seems that they’re willing to take extra measures to make sure that the people involved are safe. For now, let’s just hope that Henry Cavill, the rest of the cast and all other production members haven’t contracted the disease.
