How to disable Ads in MIUI 12 using a single toggle
Ads are commonplace in MIUI and some users walk away from Xiaomi phones for this exact reason. They are ubiquitous, intrusive, and mars the user experience. They can be ugh, aargh, and eww — all at the same time. Still, Xiaomi ships its OS with adverts because that’s the main source of its revenue. Last […]

Americans still don’t trust self-driving cars
Self-driving cars are having a really rough time gaining our trust.
This is not a total shock considering autonomous vehicles remain theoretical and elusive for most people. The limited number of self-driving cars on the road today are mostly test vehicles that aren’t available to the riding public. Combine that with Americans’ very, shall we say, complicated feelings toward concepts like “freedom” and “control,” and you can see where this is going. Digging on technology in the streets, control freaks in the sheets.
The latest poll to affirm this deep distrust comes from Partners for Automated Vehicle Education (PAVE), a coalition of industry players and nonprofits...

Samsung announces 50-megapixel camera sensor with faster autofocus
Samsung has announced a new 50-megapixel camera sensor called the ISOCELL GN1. It’s Samsung’s first sensor to include both dual-pixel autofocus and Tetracell pixel-binning, which the company says should offer a combination of fast performance and good low-light image quality.
The pixel size is 1.2μm, closer to what you’d find on a conventional phone camera sensor than the high-resolution chips that’ve become increasingly popular over the past year-plus. The obvious competitor is Sony’s new IMX689 sensor, featured in phones like the Oppo Find X2 Pro, which has 48 megapixels at 1.22μm. By default, Samsung’s sensor will take 12.5-megapixel photos with four pixels binned into one.
The addition of dual-pixel phase-detection autofocus is...

Twilight Actor Gregory Tyree Boyce Found Dead At Age 30
Gregory Tyree Boyce, perhaps best known for his role as Tyler Crowley in the first Twilight movie back in 2008, died on May 13th at the age of 30, reports Variety. He was found dead along with his girlfriend, 27-year-old Natalie Adepoju, in his Las Vegas condo and as of yet, the cause of death hasn’t been revealed for either of them.
Those familiar with the Twilight franchise will likely remember Boyce’s Crowley as a student at Forks High School, notable for almost hitting Bella (Kristen Stewart) with his car. Of course, she’s saved by Robert Pattinson’s Edward and due to this, quickly finds out about his vampiric nature. If you can’t remember the scene in question, you can give it a watch here to jog your memory.
Boyce also starred in a video short titled Apocalypse not too long ago, but in recent years, he apparently moved away from acting to try his hand at starting a restaurant. According to his mother, Lisa Wayne, he wanted to get into the wing business, as she explained the following on social media:
“He was in the process of starting a wing business, West Wings. He created the flavors to his perfection and named them after west coast rappers. Snoop Dog, Kendrick Lamar, Roddy Ricch, The Game, etc,” Wayne wrote. “He had flavors like, Tequila Lime Agave…those were my favorite. A Hennessy Maple flavor, oh man, just so damn good. I can say that my son was my favorite chef. He was on to something great and that was his passion.”
At the moment, no further details have been released in regards to Boyce’s death or what might’ve happened to him and his girlfriend, but this is certainly tragic to hear of and our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this difficult time.
Gregory Tyree Boyce is survived by his 10-year-old daughter, Alaya, while Natalie Adepoju is survived by her baby son, Egypt. As soon as further details emerge on the cause of death for both of them, we’ll be sure to let you know, so watch this space for more.

Horror Fans Freaking Out Over David Arquette Joining Scream 5
Scream 5 is officially a go, with the first original cast member announced to be signing up to return to the iconic meta-horror franchise. Yes, as you may’ve heard, David Arquette will be reprising his role as Woodboro Sheriff Dewey Riley in the upcoming fifth installment, directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett (V/H/S, Ready or Not).
We previously learned that the project was a continuation of the earlier films, thanks to Neve Campbell revealing she was in talks, but this is our first 100% confirmation that our favorites are coming back for Scream 5. So, understandably, fans are going crazy over the news. Here are just a few of the excited reactions being shared by Ghostface lovers on social media…
Anyone feel like fainting?

Fans couldn’t be happier to see Dewey’s life be put in danger again.

Having Arquette back, plus the promise of more of his co-stars returning, has convinced a lot of folks that Scream 5 could be worth it.
@DavidArquette returning for #Scream5? If I wasn't in before, I certainly am now! Can't wait for my favorite franchise to return

Hey, it’s like Stu said in the very first Scream: “You gotta have a sequel!” Or, you know, four.
Me knowing that Scream 5 is in the making with David (Dewy) signed on and Neve (Sidney) most likely also returning to this classic horror gem #Scream5 pic.twitter.com/2i6rka2Zms
— kyle. (@kyle_username) May 18, 2020
This is a good point, though. Sidney’s already worked through her boyfriend, long-lost brother, twisted cousin and more in previous movies. Who’s the killer going to be this time?
Heard @Miramax is working on #Scream5 & @DavidArquette agreed to be in it. Since Sidney has no immediate family left I bet the killer is going to be like… pic.twitter.com/NR2jMKTvOe
— Vets4Mets (@Vets4Mets) May 18, 2020
Arquette’s in. Campbell’s working on it. Courtney Cox will hopefully join, too. OK, OK… But where’s Hayden Panettiere as Kirby? She even recently got the right haircut.
Now that @DavidArquette is confirmed for #Scream5 with Neve and Courtney hopefully not far behind, we need to make sure @haydenpanettier’s Kirby gets her due and joins the survivor crew of the Scream franchise #JusticeforKirby pic.twitter.com/7EiD47YDDN

All of us right now.

James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick are providing the script for Scream 5, with original Scream screenwriter Kevin Williamson serving as exec producer. Meanwhile, filming is set to commence in Wilmington, North Carolina later this year, as soon as safety protocols are in place for the movie industry to start up again.
Obviously, we’re now all waiting on confirmation that Campbell is definitely back as Sidney Prescott. The actress has previously explained that she was won over by a letter the directors sent her declaring their intentions to honor the late, great Wes Craven’s work on the first four, so hopefully they’re able to make it work.
Tell us, though, who’s excited to return to Woodsboro for more murderous mayhem in Scream 5? Shout out your thoughts in the comments section.
