‘Jurassic World Dominion’ director explains his bizarre Joker comparison

Back in April, Jurassic World Dominion director Colin Trevorrow raised some eyebrows when he thought it apt to reference the Joker (specifically, Heath Ledger’s version from The Dark Knight) when describing Giganotosaurus, his film’s 11-ton Cretaceous-era carnivore.

This left some fans excited and others confused – all wondering how a pea-brained, meat-obsessed dinosaur can embody a psychopathic mastermind. Now that the film has been released, those who have seen it may have been left wondering what on earth he was talking about, when the comparison doesn’t hold any water.

‘Beast’ trailer has fans disgusted with how much they want to see Idris Elba punch a lion

Not every movie needs a splashy marketing campaign or media blitz in order to entice audiences to the theater, when a simple tagline or premise is often more than enough to do the trick. In the case of Beast, though, fans are genuinely disappointed in themselves for how much they want to see Idris Elba fight a lion.

Essentially a B-tier action thriller with A-list talent, the actor stars as a recent widower who jets off to South Africa with his children to visit a game reserve staffed by Sharlto Copley’s longtime friend, marking his return to the country where he met his late spouse. However, things quickly spiral out of control, leaving the family and their guide at the mercy of a hungry apex predator.

‘Jurassic World Dominion’ has fans glad Colin Trevorrow was kept away from ‘Star Wars’

Once upon a time, Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow was in line to helm the ninth mainline installment in the Star Wars franchise, which eventually morphed into J.J. Abrams’ The Rise of Skywalker once the original candidate to tackle the final chapter in the Skywalker Saga was shown the door.

At the time, fans were torn on the decision, especially when The Last Jedi had polarized opinion to a degree never seen before in a galaxy far, far away, with Abrams viewed a safe pair of hands that would do little more than attempt to right the ship. However, now that Jurassic World Dominion has been unleashed in theaters, some folks think Star Wars may have dodged a bullet.

Based on Fool’s Gold, nothing even approaching a good movie.

Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson reunited in an attempt to recapture their sizzling chemistry from beloved rom-com How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, but they resolutely failed to rekindle that magic. Instead, the pair coast through a formulaic tale of love, loss, lust, and revenge, with everyone else apparently happy to turn up and collect a paycheck.
