Mark Hamill Says He’s Been Doing Secret Star Wars Voice Cameos Since 2015

Mark Hamill has undoubtedly been the greatest star of Star Wars since its conception in the 70s. And while almost every fan would recognize him as the legendary Luke Skywalker, it appears that the actor has done more for the franchise after his return in 2015.

These classic icons, Hamill, Harrison Ford, and the late Carrie Fisher, returned to the galaxy far, far away thanks to Disney’s sequel trilogy, where the heroes of the Rebellion came together again to fight off the threat of the First Order. But a great point of controversy and perhaps solid criticism for these new films was the overall absence of Luke, who gave up the mantle after sacrificing himself for the Resistance in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

The Mouse House has obviously taken great measures to amend this mistake, most notably by resurrecting a young CGI version of the Jedi Master in the second season of The Mandalorian. Apparently, though, Hamill’s involvement with the franchise is a little deeper than we thought.

Recently, a fan recently noticed that Hamill is behind the voice for EV-9D9, a droid in The Mandalorian. The actor, meanwhile, who actively interacts with fans on social media, took the time to announce the jaw-dropping revelation that he’s been secretly cameoing in all Star Wars movies since 2015, including Solo and Rogue One:

Aside from portraying the main protagonist in the Skywalker Saga, Hamill is also known for his numerous voice acting credits, particularly as the Clown Prince of Crime in the DC Universe. As such, it’s not much of a surprise to learn that he’s put those skills to work in Star Wars as well.

Kate Beckinsale Says Underworld 6 Probably Won’t Happen

The Underworld movies aren’t cinematic masterpieces but they get the job done. Though never a critical success, if you were a mid-2000s moviegoer who wanted to watch a pretty lady in tight pants shoot monsters, they were your best bet (well, that or a Resident Evil flick).

After its 2003 debut, the franchise proved to have long legs, racking up five entries (and an animated movie) over the next 14 years, closing out with Underworld: Blood Wars in 2017. Unfortunately, that final entry sputtered at the box office and since then the franchise has been on ice.

Creator Len Wiseman hinted in 2017 that Underworld 6 was in development and that the story of Kate Beckinsale’s Selene would continue. Those plans stalled and now, in a new interview to promote upcoming movie Jolt (premiering on Amazon Prime on July 23rd), Beckinsale said she doubts there’ll be another entry.

While confirming that she still has those leather pants in storage, she said Selene isn’t coming back – and rued that they never got a chance to make their pitched Underworld/Blade crossover (Marvel Studios declined). But none of this should come as much of a surprise as Beckinsale has previously ruled out playing Selene again.

Her reasons are solid: she married Wiseman after the first Underworld and the pair filed for divorce just before Blood Wars hit theaters, so it’s understandable she doesn’t want to work with her ex. On top of that, in a 2018 interview she said:

“I never anticipated doing one of those heavy-weight, very physical franchise things. It was scary to see myself on movie posters on the side of every single bus.”

Also, she’s 46 and a mother, so maybe she just doesn’t have the time to squeeze back into the outfit and throw down with the undead. But while Beckinsale might be out, there have been hints of an Underworld TV series in the pipeline. Right now that seems unlikely, but who knows?

[SPOILERS] Is Reportedly The Main Villain Of Doctor Strange 2, Not Nightmare

We’re just eight months away from the release of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and despite the information we can infer from both the title and the events of Phase Four so far in WandaVision and Loki, we still know next to nothing about Sam Raimi’s upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe blockbuster.

Even the cast is being kept largely under wraps, with Xochitl Gomez’s America Chavez the only new addition to the roster confirmed so far alongside returnees Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen, Rachel McAdams, Chiwitel Ejiofor and Benedict Wong, although actor Jon Prophet has reportedly been cast as New Yorker 616, a minor part but one that will stand out to fans of comic book lore when the MCU has been designated as Earth-199999, and 616 is the Marvel Comics universe.

We don’t even know who the villain in Multiverse of Madness is going to be, although a multitude of candidates have been touted. However, we’re hearing from our sources – the same ones who told us McAdams would definitely be back for the Sorcerer Supreme’s sequel when it was widely reported she’d dropped out – Scarlet Witch is reportedly the big bad of the movie.

According to our information, Wanda goes on a rampage through the multiverse to try and find the timeline where her children exist and called out her, and Olsen confirmed already that she’s able to traverse the very fabric of reality. Additionally, we’ve also heard she’ll be going after America Chavez, which may be tied to the character’s comic book abilities that include teleportation and inter-dimensional travel. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is shaping up to be the MCU’s wildest effort yet, and given her power levels, Wanda will be a formidable foe.

Watch: Dazzling New Trailer For Dune Remake Debuts

Denis Villeneuve’s Dune has been a long time coming. Originally scheduled for November 2020, the COVID pandemic pushed it back almost an entire year to October 2021. This meant a painful wait for fans of Frank Herbert’s classic science-fiction novel, especially as this looks to be the best live-action adaptation yet.

Herbert’s dense and often surreal fictional universe can take a while to grasp, but readers who put in the effort often fall head over heels in love with the series (to the point where you wish they would shut up about Dune already). But works in a book doesn’t necessarily work in a feature-length movie, as several past directors have discovered.

That being said, this new footage underlines that Arrival and Blade Runner 2049 helmer Denis Villeneuve may succeed where others have stumbled. Like the previous trailers, this proves that if nothing else, the movie will bring Arrakis to life, teasing shots of the desert planet and quick peeks at each of the main characters, showing off their cool Stillsuits and organic tech design.

In addition, this trailer confirms that of all the movies being released simultaneously in theaters and on HBO Max this year, Dune is the one to catch on the big screen. I don’t care how big a TV you have, Villeneuve’s epic landscapes deserve to be appreciated on the grandest scale possible.

Despite all the signs looking good from these trailers, there are still a couple of caveats. One is that this installment is the first of two parts. Villeneuve explained in an interview that he didn’t think he could fit Dune‘s story into a single film, saying:

“I would not agree to make this adaptation of the book with one single movie. The world is too complex. It’s a world that takes its power in details.”

This is a risky move as it’s unclear whether the sequel has been greenlit or whether its future rests on the success of part one (and at the back of my mind is the middling box office numbers for Blade Runner 2049).

In any case, right now, I’m just glad thatafter suffering through that year-long delay we’re finally getting Dune on October 22, 2021. We should get a better idea of how it’s turned out sooner though, as it’ll premiere at the Venice Film Festival on September 3, 2021.

Dwayne Johnson Explains The Major Difference Between Black Adam And Superman

We’ve heard on at least a dozen separate occasions that Henry Cavill is poised to make a cameo appearance in Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam, and we’re no doubt going to hear it a few times more between now and the DCEU blockbuster’s release next summer. If it does happen then it’ll be kept under wraps to deliver the biggest possible surprise, but it makes a whole lot of sense from a personal, professional and canonical perspective.

Both stars are huge jacked dudes with an army of dedicated supporters, and each has a longstanding business relationship with Seven Bucks co-founder and Cavill manager Dany Garcia. On top of that, the sheer power that Teth-Adam possesses can only truly be rivaled by The Big Blue Boy Scout, and any potential showdown between the two would make Man of Steel‘s third act destruction of Metropolis look like a pillow fight by comparison.

Johnson has teased that it may come to fruition somewhere down the line, and in a new interview he addressed the similarities and major differences between the two comic book favorites.

“Black Adam has all the powers of Superman, but the difference is he is blessed with magic. And also, by a code of ethics in the world of superheroes, they don’t kill the bad guys, but Black Adam does.”

While we’re virtually guaranteed to see Black Adam throw down opposite Zachary Levi’s Shazam! in the future, with the first installment and sequel Fury of the Gods the only movies to date Johnson has produced through Seven Bucks that he didn’t also appear in, the prospect of seeing him stare down Cavill’s Kryptonian is arguably the more mouthwatering option.

Of course, history has shown the DCEU’s trajectory can be unpredictable at the best of times, but make no mistake, the fans would go absolutely nuts were Black Adam and Superman to go toe-to-toe in a smackdown for the ages.
