Twitter reveals that its own employee tools contributed to unprecedented hack
Twitter has shed some light on the unprecedented attack on Wednesday that resulted in numerous takeovers of high-profile accounts including those of President Barack Obama, Democratic candidate Joe Biden, and Tesla CEO Elon Musk. In a series of tweets posted this evening under its support channel, Twitter said that its internal systems were compromised by the hackers, confirming theories that the attack could not have been conducted without access to the company’s own tools and employee privileges.
“We detected what we believe to be a coordinated social engineering attack by people who successfully targeted some of our employees with access to internal systems and tools,” the first tweet in a multi-tweet explainer thread reads. “We know...

Every Horror Movie Currently Streaming For Free On Peacock
Perhaps Universal’s most renowned contributions to cinema lie in their horror library. Frankenstein, Dracula, The Invisible Man, if you can name it they probably made it. But until now, that awesome catalogue was unavailable to view in one place. Sounds like the grousing of a spoilt millennial, I know. The fact is that we’ve all become accustomed to having content at our fingertips. Praise be then that a streaming service has today launched to fulfil that demand. Peacock brings Universal’s esteemed horror collection to the masses.
Unlike its rivals, the service has both a paid-for package and a free one (though you’ll have to contend with adverts). Why not take a look at all the horror films currently available for free, though? Trick question, as there’s no reason why not to. I made a joke only yesterday about how oversaturated the streaming market has become (admittedly more of an observation than a joke). Now, you can add another name to the roll call. Let’s see: Apple TV+, Disney+, HBO Max, Hulu, Prime, CBS All Access, and now Peacock. Could also throw in Britbox and ESPN+ if you want. As far as I can tell, the only major studio yet to join the party is Sony. Right, that’s enough non-punditry on the subject of streamers for one day.
Let’s get back to the movies. Namely, are you thinking of checking any of them out? Drop a comment below with those you’re most looking forward to. It looks a treat for anyone hoping to get into horror, though I have no idea what Sharknado: Heart of Sharkness is doing on there. Perhaps not the best place to start.

Scientists Discover Massive Black Hole That’s Eating One Sun A Day
Is there any space phenomenon as awesome, fascinating and downright terrifying as a black hole? Well, how about a supermassive one that’s consuming a sun every single day? Researchers at The Australian National University have discovered one of the largest black holes currently known, a monster “about 8000 times” the size of the black hole at the center of the Milky Way.
That one clocks in at roughly 14.6 million kilometres in diameter. Yep, multiply that by 8000. Or don’t, if you want to keep your sanity.
Dr. Christopher Onken, a researcher at the ANU, gave some further insight on this remarkable discovery, saying:
“The black hole’s mass is also about 8,000 times bigger than the black hole in the centre of the Milky Way. If the Milky Way’s black hole wanted to grow that fat, it would have to swallow two thirds of all the stars in our Galaxy.
We’re seeing it at a time when the universe was only 1.2 billion years old, less than 10 per cent of its current age. It’s the biggest black hole that’s been weighed in this early period of the Universe.”
Dr. Onken then went on to elaborate on how the researchers realized what they were dealing with, explaining:
“We knew we were onto a very massive black hole when we realized its fast growth rate. How much black holes can swallow depends on how much mass they already have. So, for this one to be devouring matter at such a high rate, we thought it could become a new record holder. And now we know.
Is this galaxy one of the behemoths of the early Universe, or did the black hole just swallow up an extraordinary amount of its surroundings? We’ll have to keep digging to figure that out.”
There’s a tease for you. Giant remnants of ancient star systems, the science of space has so much romance about it. You think you’ve had big dreams until you start dreaming about the stars. That’s enough of the old romantic in me.
What does this have to do with the also-romantic world of movies? Not much, but the most popular film to feature a black hole of recent years was Christopher Nolan’s sci-fi epic Interstellar, which explored the temporal implications of flying in the orbit of one. But there’ve been others, too. Justice League put a colossal black hole in the wallets of Warner Bros. executives. As did Birds of Prey. And Green Lantern. OK, you get the idea.
Seriously though, drop your favourite black hole movies/TV shows/albums (any Soundgarden fans?) in the comments section. They don’t all have to be as ginormous as the “behemoth” researchers down under have found, though they do tend to be pretty big.

White House says restrictions on TikTok could come in ‘weeks, not months’
The White House has hinted at a timeframe for taking action against TikTok, the popular social video app owned by Chinese internet company ByteDance. Last week Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the Trump administration was “certainly looking at” banning the app, and now Trump’s chief of staff Mark Meadows says a move could come within weeks.
“There are a number of administration officials who are looking at the national security risk as it relates to TikTok, WeChat and other apps that have the potential for national security exposure, specifically as it relates to the gathering of information on American citizens by a foreign adversary,” Meadows told reporters traveling from Atlanta on Air Force One. “I dont think there’s any...

Constantine Director Says He’s Talked To Keanu Reeves About A Sequel
Keanu Reeves has starred in countless sequels, some of them popular (John Wick: Chapter 2 and Chapter 3), some of them less so (The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions). But to date, no sequel to his 2005 feature Constantine has gotten off the ground. That’s not for a lack of enthusiasm, though.
Director Francis Lawrence gave some enlightening comments to /Film recently about the status of a possible Constantine 2, saying that he and Reeves have spoken about making it. However, several major obstacles stand in the way of it ever happening.
Here’s what he had to share:
“I think we all wanted to do it. It was successful enough. We wanted to make a responsible, more R-rated movie. By responsible, I mean we’d make a movie that wouldn’t cost quite as much as the original, which we thought was going to be PG-13. We worked on the sequel for a while. We have been talking about it recently. It’s always stuck with all of us because we all love the movie, and especially realizing there’s a real cult following for this movie, it’d be fun to make. Keanu, and I have actually talked about it.
Unfortunately, I don’t even remember who has it, but with all these shared universes that exist now, with Constantine being a part of Vertigo, which is a part of DC, people have plans for these shared universes. You know, possibly different Constantines and things like that. Right now, we don’t have that character available to us for TV or movies, which is a bummer. We all investigated it, but I think it’s kind of crazy when you have Keanu, who would love to do another Constantine, and us wanting to do another Constantine, and people are like, ‘Uh, no, we got other plans.’ We’ll see what happens.”
It’s unfortunate for fans who want to see Lawrence and Reeves working together again. But thankfully, it’s not all bad news. There’ve been numerous stories floating around the internet about the mooted DCEU Constantine reboot. Keanu Reeves is reportedly close to returning to the role in that film, too. And if it gets confirmed, then it would seem Lawrence is a little out of the loop. Either way, we imagine it won’t be long now before we hear more on the character’s big screen future. In fact, the film’s upcoming 15th anniversary panel seems like it’ll bring some goodies.
Tell us, though, what are your thoughts on Lawrence’s comments? Would you prefer a direct sequel to his Constantine, or are you more interested in a reboot? Whoever’s pulling the strings and whoever’s in front of the camera, hopefully this time the results will be a little more even. Actually, the more I think about it, the more J.J. Abrams and Keanu Reeves as partners in crime appeals to me. Make it happen, Warner Bros.

Vin Diesel Rumored To Be Playing Live-Action Role In The MCU
The history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe may be viewed as an unqualified success, but Inhumans still holds the unwanted distinction of being the only one of the studio’s projects to be officially announced and given a release date that never actually made it in front of cameras. And based on how the short-lived TV series turned out, the decision might have been for the best.
Originally scheduled for October 2018 with Vin Diesel attached to play the team’s leader Black Bolt, Inhumans was set to be scripted by Black Panther co-writer Joe Robert Cole, but the movie was pushed to July 2019 before being abandoned completely. The titular race were eventually introduced in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D before being given their own spinoff, which was canceled after just eight episodes following poor ratings and overwhelmingly negative reviews, with the general consensus being that it was the worst thing to ever come out of the MCU.
However, rumors of a potential reboot have never went away, and now a new report from tipster Mikey Sutton claims that not only is Inhumans said to be back on the table at Marvel Studios, but Vin Diesel is still set to play Black Bolt. Cinema’s premiere vest-wearing action hero has admitted in the past that he might end up playing the role one day, and with Kevin Feige confirming that none of the previous TV shows are regarded as official canon, the previous incarnation of the team may as well have never existed.
Marvel have more than enough high-profile projects on their plate as it is, but maybe Feige wants to go out of his way and prove a point by showing that he can make Inhumans work after their last live-action outing turned out so poorly. You can understand Vin Diesel‘s enthusiasm, too, given that he could end up picking up two paychecks from Marvel, one for a voice role that requires him to say the same word over and over again and another for a character that doesn’t even speak.
