‘Terrifier 2’ star compares the horror sequel to classic slashers and Metallica albums

Horror bloodhounds and gorefest enthusiasts are in for a sinister treat as Terrifier 2, the long-awaited sequel to Damien Leone’s blood-soaked Terrifier, officially releases in theaters this week in the United States. Unsurprisingly, Leone’s follow-up film is creating an entire new cauldron of controversy, with the horror filmmaker reintroducing the horror bubble to the bizarre, silent serial killer known as Art the Clown.

Upon release back in 2016, Leone’s horror extravaganza was one of the hottest, most talked-about movies of the year — with the indie-like horror project featuring chaotic violence and an abundance of gory sequences. As it turns out, Leone’s sequel has apparently upped the ante and gone from a powerful Metallica song to an even more explosive track, which star Chris Jericho mentioned while chatting with MovieWeb in a recent interview, saying:

‘Star Wars’ detractors tear a style over substance sequel trilogy action sequence to shreds

After The Force Awakens most fans were upbeat about the future of Star Wars. Disney and Lucasfilm appeared to have made a conscious effort to learn the lessons of the prequel trilogy, with the long-awaited sequel to Return of the Jedi setting up an interesting new story while honoring the memory of the originals.

Oh, what fools we were! We weren’t to know, but there was no plan for the sequel trilogy story and Lucasfilm would try to wing it and improvise. The end result was the dreadful The Rise of Skywalker, which drastically course-corrected away from The Last Jedi and ended up pleasing no one. There’s no point in going over all of its flaws, so we’ll just drop a “somehow Palpatine returned” and leave it at that.

A brutal historical thriller with an incredibly random cast battles back against streaming invaders

Any action-packed historical epic worth its salt tends to populate a sprawling ensemble with a cavalcade of big names, recognizable faces, and veteran character actors. While 2019’s brutal The Rising Hawk (also known as Fall of a Kingdom in certain territories) sticks to the playbook, you’d be hard-pressed to find a more random assemblage of talent.

To be fair, we are talking about a co-production between Ukraine and the United States that was made for just $5 million, a drop in the ocean compared to what the typical Hollywood sword-swinger will set a studio back. Then again, that doesn’t make it any less strange to see Robert Patrick heading up the cast as Zakhar Berkut in a 13th Century adventure that features a small band of locals fighting back against the overwhelming might of the Mongol Empire.
