Nintendo plans to launch paid subscription memberships for its smartphone game Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp later this week, according to an in-game news update. The company says one plan lets you “appoint one lucky animal as your camp caretaker and get some extra help around the campsite,” while with another you’ll “receive fortune cookies and store your furniture and clothing items in warehouses.”
Nintendo released its latest mobile game, Mario Kart Tour, last month with a surprising optional subscription: a $4.99-a-month “Gold Pass” that unlocks a faster speed mode and gives users access to more in-game items. The company says it will reveal more information about the Animal Crossing memberships in videos that are due to be released...

Google’s Stadia cloud gaming service is just two days away from launch — a launch that’s taken some serious criticism (including from yours truly at The Verge) because the company keeps revealing that most of the service’s promised features and games won’t be ready. But now, Google has given its early adopters a welcome surprise for a change: 22 games will be ready to play on day one, nearly double the number that Google said would be available as of last week.
Some of these titles weren’t slated to arrive until 2020 by Google’s last estimate, but Stadia boss Phil Harrison replied to one of my tweets with this explanation:

While you might expect the month of December to mark a wave of holiday-related content when it comes to streaming services, it looks like Netflix has a lot more than a few Christmas specials coming down the pipeline next month. If you’re a subscribing member residing in the US, here’s what you can look forward to binge-watching.
Sonic X (Seasons 1 and 2) – While his big screen debut isn’t set to release until February, everyone’s favorite anthropomorphic hedgehog is still making a splash on Netflix in December. The first two seasons of this Japanese animated series will be available for streaming on the 1st and for those unfamiliar, the show follows Sonic and the gang as they attempt to save one of their friends after being accidentally teleported to Earth.
The Witcher (Season 1) – Announced well over two years ago, the series based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s best-selling books will finally debut on December 20th. The show follows the story of Geralt of Rivia, a magically-enhanced monster hunter who struggles to find his place between the beasts he pursues and the people who reject him. Without a doubt, this is one of 2019’s most high profile new series.
Marriage Story – If heartfelt dramas are more up your alley, you might want to turn your attention towards Marriage Story, which is sure to be thrust into the spotlight come awards season. This Noah Baumbach-directed film follows a stage director and actress who have to endure a grueling divorce that pushes them to their limits. Featuring a star-studded cast, Marvel and Star Wars fans will easily recognize Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) and Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), who play the struggling couple.
That’s but a sampling of what you look forward to next month, and for those who are in the holiday spirit, don’t fret! You can check out the full list of new arrivals below and rest assured that there are enough Christmas specials to keep you entertained for weeks on end.

It’s now been two years since Justice League arrived in North American theaters to an underwhelming response, but the campaign for Warner Bros. to deliver Zack Snyder’s original cut of the 2017 ensemble actioner seems to have only built in momentum.
It was just a few weeks ago that Aquaman star Jason Momoa mentioned in an interview with MTV News that he’d watched the film’s fabled “Snyder Cut,” claiming that the public “needs to see” the alternate version of the DC flick.
Between this recent endorsement and the various stills and concept art that Snyder has shared in the past couple of years, perhaps it’s no surprise that fans succeeded in getting the hashtag #ReleaseTheSnyderCut trending on the anniversary of the film’s release. What most of us couldn’t have predicted, however, is that the movement would gain a powerful supporter in Batman himself, Ben Affleck.
The star of Justice League and Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice took to Twitter with a post that consists only of the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut hashtag, though based on the wave of stunned replies this message has been getting, perhaps no other words were necessary.
— Ben Affleck (@BenAffleck) November 17, 2019
Oh, and in case you haven’t heard already, Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot and Cyborg actor Ray Fisher have also tweeted the same hashtag in the last 24 hours, along with previously unseen stills from the production of Justice League. Needless to say, the fans who’ve spent the last two years spreading this slogan must be feeling pretty good about themselves right now, though it remains to be seen if and how Warner Bros. will respond to this latest push.
According to recent reports, discussions around a possible Snyder Cut release may already be happening at the company, but unless we hear an official announcement, don’t expect the online campaign to die down anytime soon.
The Infinity Saga box set from Marvel promises a ridiculous amount of MCU content, spanning from the original Iron Man to the most recent 2019 releases. While it’s currently hard to get a hold of it, both due to its almost $600 price-tag and copies being snapped up, we are at least getting information about the deleted and bonus scenes that are included in the collection.
We’ve already put together a list of all the exciting content in the box set, but one scene is particularly notable for fans of the Hulk, in that it shows the character breaking out of the Hulkbuster armor in Avengers: Infinity War. Part of what would have been a different storyline for Bruce Banner, the scene was planned to take place during the Battle of Wakanda, with Hulk bursting out of the Hulkbuster armor and taking on Thanos’ armies.
However, the movie instead restricts Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner to the armor, following on from the Hulk’s brutal defeat by Thanos in the opening scene of the picture. We then see Smart Hulk in Avengers: Endgame, the result of Banner being able to balance out the different sides of his personality.
The Hulkbuster scene can now be viewed in the context of the filmmakers’ original plan to have Smart Hulk emerge at the end of Infinity War, effectively as a compromise in the Battle of Wakanda. Moreover, another deleted scene set before the arrival of Thanos would have confirmed this new stage in the Hulk’s evolution by having him speak in a normal voice. In the end though, it was felt that introducing Smart Hulk at this point through the (admittedly) very cool scene of him exploding from the Hulkbuster suit, didn’t suit the downbeat tone of Infinity War.
Viewed alongside the other bonus content, the Hulkbuster scene in Avengers: Infinity War is just one of the many fun ‘what if?’ additions to the MCU featured in the Infinity Saga set, including a different take on Odin’s death in Thor: Ragnarok.
Tell us, though, would you have preferred to see Smart Hulk appear earlier than the introduction in Endgame? As always, let us know down below.
