Sony is struggling to land on a price for its upcoming PlayStation 5 console, according to a new report by Bloomberg, with component shortages potentially pushing the MSRP beyond that of the PS4. The bill of materials is said to be at around $450 right now, compared to IHS Markit’s estimate of $381 for the PS4, which sold for $399 upon its release in 2013.
Unless Sony is willing to sell the PS5 at a loss, a $450 build cost would make the new console significantly more expensive than Sony’s current $399 PS4 Pro, which is often discounted to as low as $299. It was once common for consoles to be sold as loss leaders, but Sony designed the PS4 to be profitable from the start after losing billions on the technically ambitious PS3 at launch.

On Wednesday, the IRS quietly changed a provision on its website that said transactions of virtual currency like Fortnite’s V-bucks were taxable and may have to be reported on tax returns, as reported by CNN.
The provision had been on the IRS’ website since at least October, and you can see it right here, thanks to the Wayback Machine. On the archived version of the site, Bitcoin, Ether, Roblox (likely referring to Robux from the game Roblox), and V-bucks are listed as specific examples of a “convertible virtual currency.” The IRS defines a convertible virtual currency as one that has an equivalent value to or acts as a substitute for real currency. The IRS’ website now only lists Bitcoin as an example of a convertible virtual currency.

Fans everywhere are freaking out at the new costume for Robert Pattinson’s Caped Crusader in the hugely anticipated film The Batman. The sleek design has everyone very excited, and some have even begun theorizing about the origins of the intriguing chest emblem.
Details about The Batman have been kept under wraps for months now, but director Matt Reeves decided to shock fans everywhere by dropping camera test footage showing off of the superhero’s new outfit. The armored iteration of the famous suit does a great job of standing out from previous versions, and one thing that fans find fascinating is the enthralling design of the bat symbol.
Usually, the logo is just for show and doesn’t really serve a purpose besides assisting the Dark Knight in brand awareness. But this version looks like it will actually be for something. It could be some type of weapon, grappling hook, or tricked out Batarang, but journalist Markeia McCarty took to Twitter to give everyone her own interesting take on what could be going down with the symbol on Batman’s chest.
For those asking: looks like a gun divided & reshaped into the symbol, Detective Comics #1000 (Manufacture For Sale) had a similar plot, & what other gun (pre-Batman Beyond) would have that much meaning to Bats?
Bottom line, strong speculation & I'm eager to see if it pans outpic.twitter.com/71ALuxeI0g

According to her thought-provoking theory, this chest emblem could have ties to Bruce Wayne’s tragic past. She believes the symbol looks like the repurposed firearm used by Joe Chill to kill his parents. It’s known that Batman is driven by this heinous crime, and keeping the source of his pain close to his chest is a drop-dead fantastic idea. If nothing else, it would definitely help Pattinson’s version stand out from his predecessors.
As of right now, this is all just speculation, but one thing that’s for sure is that given what we’ve seen in this brief camera test, The Batman is shaping up to be one superhero film that fans won’t want to miss.
There’s been much speculation on how fans will receive Matt Reeves’ The Batman once it finally releases, and in the hopes of building excitement for the project, the director decided to treat everyone to a surprise glimpse of Robert Pattinson’s Batsuit today. Understandably, people are freaking out over the design.
Much like the first reveal of Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker, Reeves has out of nowhere unveiled a camera test revealing his sleek concept of the Batsuit that Pattinson will be wearing when he suits up as Gotham’s Caped Crusader. Through the dark crimson lighting and epic score from the movie’s composer Michael Giacchino, the video features a quick look at the film’s star in his superhero costume.
This suit appears to be much more armored than previous iterations and is very similar to the Arkham Knight’s look in the Batman: Arkham Knight video game. The costume also gives off some heavy Batman Beyond vibes. But the one thing that really sticks out here is the emblem on the hero’s chest.
Usually, the logo is just for show on a Bat-suit, but here it seems like it could have a separate function. It could possibly be a weapon, grappling hook, or some tricked out Batarang. Whatever it does, it definitely helps this version stand out on its own from the others, and fans everywhere can’t stop talking about it.

Thought this was a troll at first but no that’s actually Batman!!! I didn’t want another suit of armour but DAMN THAT LOOKS SICK! I’m wondering if he’s black and grey since the cowl looks darker than the suit. I can officially say I’m excited for this film. LETS GOOOOOO

Most folks seem to be behind the new design and this will no doubt only heighten the anticipation for The Batman. But it won’t only be Pattinson in the spotlight, as joining him will be an all-star cast featuring Paul Dano, Colin Farrell, Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis and Zoë Kravitz. And given how good the Dark Knight’s costume looks, it’ll be interesting to see what Reeves has in store for the rest of the characters set to appear in the film.
The Batman touches down in theaters on June 25, 2021. Until then, though, fans can enjoy other great DC titles like Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey, which is currently in cinemas, and Wonder Woman 1984, which releases on June 4th, 2020.
Critical approval and positive audience reaction, reflected in consistent 80% scores for the latest DC Extended Universe installment Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey, officially known as Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), don’t seem to be helping the film’s box office numbers, after its $33 million opening weekend landed it in the company of some of the worst financial performers in the history of DC’s cinematic endeavors.
Though most reviewers have praised Margot Robbie’s portrayal of the newly-upgraded title character, a role she reprises from David Ayer’s 2016 villain team-up film Suicide Squad, a dedicated minority of viewers continue to criticize the Australian’s depiction of the psychiatrist-turned-sociopath, and DC Comics writer Jimmy Palmiotti took to Twitter recently to have words with them:
Margot Robbie's portrayal of HarleyQuinn is exactly as we have been writing the character since 2013. For those saying she's nothing like the character, may I suggest a 3- 800 pages collections where you can make the comparison. https://t.co/AdKQDqdfGa@birdsofpreywb
— Jimmy Palmiotti (@jpalmiotti) February 13, 2020
The three 800-page collections in question are the three volumes of the Harley Quinn omnibus that he co-wrote with artist Amanda Connor, and cover the married couple’s four-year creative tenure on the book. The first volume collects issues #0-16 of the second volume of Harley Quinn along with a handful of one-shots and the six-issue Harley Quinn and Power Girl miniseries; the second volume collects issues #17-30 of Harley Quinn‘s second volume, another handful of one-shots, and the six-issue Harley’s Little Black Book miniseries; and the third volume collects first 34 issues of the third volume of Harley Quinn that the pair scripted before turning over creative control to Frank Tieri and Inaki Miranda in March of 2018.
The character was created by Paul Dini, originally appearing on the Fox Kids Batman: The Animated Series episode “Joker’s Favor” in September of 1992 and later appearing in print in that same continuity in The Batman Adventures #12 in September of 1993. She then made her first New Earth appearance in the Batman: Harley Quinn one-shot, written by Dini and drawn by Yvel Guichet, in October of 1999 before graduating to her own solo title, written by Karl Kesel and drawn by Terry Dodson, in December of 2000, and eventually transitioning over to Prime Earth in Adam Glass and Federico Dallocchio’s Suicide Squad #1 in November of 2011.
Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey can be seen in theaters now, while Harley’s next appearance, in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad can be seen on August 6th, 2021. Sam Humphries’s Harley Quinn #71, meanwhile hits the shelves of your local comic shop on March 4th.
