Credit: World Video Game Hall of Fame / The Strong Museum

Microsoft’s Solitaire game is turning 30 years old today. Microsoft is celebrating the occasion with a world record attempt of the most games of Microsoft Solitaire completed in one day. 35 million people still play Solitaire monthly, according to Microsoft, with more than 100 million hands played daily around the world.

Microsoft Solitaire was originally included as part of Windows 3.0 back in 1990, designed specifically to teach users how to use a mouse. Grabbing virtual cards and dropping them in place taught the basics of drag-and-drop in Windows, which we still use today in many parts of the operating system.

Microsoft Solitaire, originally known as Windows Solitaire, is one of the most played games in the world as it shipped in...

Watch: Simon Pegg Totally Transforms Himself In Inheritance Trailer

Simon Pegg has charted an impressive acting career from British indie comedy to mainstream Hollywood blockbuster. Now, with commercial (and popular) success assured, it looks like he’s tickling his independent sensibility once more. His newest film – a thriller titled Inheritance – releases tomorrow on VOD, and if you didn’t know his name was in the credits, you’d be hard pressed to recognize him.

As you can see in the trailer up above, Pegg plays Morgan Warner, a man who’s been held captive by a wealthy patriarch for a very long time. Leaving aside the beard and the ageing makeup (they’ve done a good job on him), I’m not sure I’ve ever heard Pegg do an American accent before. It’s not bad, either, pitched in the direction of Hugh Laurie as House, if not as gravelly.

The film had been set for a theatrical release in April, but the pandemic has now put paid to that. This’ll be the second VOD release from Vertical Entertainment in the last 10 days, too, as Capone came out in the same format on May 12th. It seems studios are increasingly favouring getting films out there in this way, though it remains to be seen whether it’s viable for higher budget movies.

Got any thoughts on Simon Pegg’s new look in Inheritance? Leave us a comment below. Can’t say I think it’ll be one he returns to often, but it’s always intriguing to see an actor play against type. Living it up on the shiny sets of Star Trek and Mission: Impossible is all well and good, sure, but can you do it in horrible grimy dungeon? Be sure to catch Inheritance when it debuts tomorrow for the answer.

Watch: New Tenet Trailer Teases Another Christopher Nolan Mind-Bender

Christopher Nolan’s Tenet is set to be the next big blockbuster to hit theaters and while there’s been some concern over whether or not it’ll still make its release date, as far as we know, Warner Bros. seems intent on sticking to their plan. Then again, this new trailer for the pic doesn’t mention a date for when we can expect to see it – which is odd – but at the same time, the studio hasn’t yet announced a delay. So, we’ll assume that it’s still pegged in for July – until they say otherwise.

Billed as “an action epic evolving from the world of international espionage,” this trailer doesn’t give too much away in terms of plot – fully expected, as this is a Nolan film we’re talking about – but what we do get is another intriguing look at the movie that only raises more questions than it answers. Indeed, it’s a cryptic preview that doesn’t really spell much out, offering only glimpses of what’s sure to be another mind-bender with small hints of a few plot elements, leaving us furiously scrambling to piece it all together.

As one of the world’s most beloved and probably consistent directors in Hollywood, each new movie from Christopher Nolan draws huge amounts of interest and buzz, and Tenet looks to follow suit. After all, the $225 million production is set to be a globe-trotting adventure that looks like a pretty wild ride. And one that’ll be wholly unique when it comes to blockbusters.

Speaking about the film last year, star Robert Pattinson teased that it’s going to be an unreal experience, saying:

“I got locked in a room to read the script – I don’t have it myself,” the actor said. “I’ve been a little wary of doing big movies for years and years, but there’s just something about Chris Nolan’s stuff. He seems like the only director now who can do what is essentially a very personal, independent movie that has huge scale. I read the script and it’s unreal.”

As things stand, Tenet will reach theaters on July 17th, 2020. Of course, the COVID-19 pandemic may ultimately have something to say about that, but it’s been far too long now since we’ve had a big new release, so let’s hope it can make it to cinemas on schedule and give us some much needed blockbuster entertainment.

Watch the new trailer for Christopher Nolan’s Tenet that just debuted in Fortnite

Christopher Nolan, one of Hollywood’s biggest proponents of the theatrical experience, is the latest director to see his movie get the Fortnite treatment.

The latest trailer for his upcoming film Tenet debuted in Fortnite on Thursday. Although very little about the film is actually known, Tenet is described as a movie set within the world of international espionage, and the first trailer and marketing material for the movie has played up a concept in which time moves forward and backward — hence the palindrome title. The new trailer expands on John David Washington’s main character as he learns to warp time, with the stake of the world and its future in his hands.

Chris Evans Says Captain America Isn’t His Best Comic Book Movie Role

At this point, it looks like Chris Evans has ended his long-running tenure as Captain America. For now, at least. Indeed, there’ve been numerous reports pointing to some kind of comeback down the road, which the actor hasn’t ruled out yet, but for the immediate future, it seems like he’s intending to stay away from the comic book movie genre. And we don’t blame him.

After all, throughout his career, Evans has brought to life over a half a dozen comic book characters across nearly 20 movies. While a good chunk of those are obviously Captain America-related, if you dig deeper, you’ll find that he also has many other parts in films based on comic books, be it Fantastic FourTMNTPush or The Losers.

But if you ask the actor which comic book movie role is his best, he wouldn’t go with any of those. And he wouldn’t even say it’s Steve Rogers. No, Evans thinks his best role in a comic book movie is actually Lucas Lee in Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. At least, that’s according to a recent Twitter exchange, where director Edgar Wright suggested it was his best part ever, and Evans seemingly agreed.

While the two stars might just be having a fun exchange here, you wouldn’t struggle to find many people that hold Evans’ work in the aforementioned film in high regard. He’s certainly great in the role and the movie itself is hugely popular and widely loved.

Then again, it’s hard to deny that Captain America is Chris Evans’ best part. It’s definitely his most famous and it’s what really propelled him to the top of Hollywood’s A-list. Not to mention the one that most would associate him with. But be it his time in the MCU, his work in Scott Pilgrim or any of his other fantastic performances, if one thing’s for certain, it’s that the actor is always enjoyable and entertaining to watch and makes any project he’s in better.
