Marvel theorist suggests there’s a good reason for Spider-Man’s notorious bad luck

Peter Parker is not known for his good fortune. Even before he was bitten by the spider he was a bullied orphan struggling to fit in at school, and after becoming Spider-Man his things don’t improve as he struggles to balance superheroism with a normal life. This has seen many of his loved ones die tragically, his marriage erased by Satan, being possessed by an evil alien, and whatever the hell was happening in ‘The Clone Saga’.

All this has led fans to wonder whether there might be more to Peter’s difficult life than simply bad luck and a post in r/FanTheories may have hit the nail on the head. The user argues that his bad luck might be linked to the Spider-Verse comics’ reveal that his Spider-sense is the result of all Spideys being connected to the multiversal Web of Life and Destiny.

Movie lovers celebrate a controversial 1990s cult classic to mark the director’s birthday

David Fincher has just turned sixty. The director has had a long and successful career in Hollywood and has been garlanded with awards for visually dazzling and rigorously plotted dramas like The Social Network, Gone Girl, Zodiac, and Mank. But there’s one title in his filmography that’s guaranteed to spark debate: seminal 1999 cult classic Fight Club.

Adapted from Chuck Palahniuk’s 1996 novel of the same name, the movie follows Edward Norton’s miserable narrator as he meets the charismatic Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt), and the pair find new purpose by punching each other in the face in the titular ‘Fight Club’. From there, things spiral into anarchy and homegrown terrorism in one of the best time capsules of pre-millennial malaise.

‘Star Wars’ fans say characters returning from the dead is the worst thing about the franchise

Star Wars fans are known for being fiercely critical of the franchise they love, with discussions raging for years about the merits of the prequel trilogy, Disney’s overall stewardship since 2013, and, of course, the endless grousing over everything to do with Rian Johnson’s The Last Jedi.

But now the fandom is united in slamming what might be the worst thing about the franchise: dead characters just won’t stay in the ground. A popular post on r/StarWars describes resurrections as “insanely overused” and lists the many characters who appeared to die, but didn’t:

Order 66 destroyed the Jedi, but ‘Star Wars’ fans point out that Order 65 could have stopped Darth Sidious

Order 66 was one of the most consequential moments in Star Wars history. This was the culmination of Darth Sidious’ prequel trilogy scheming and the moment the tide truly turned against the Jedi order as the clone troopers they were fighting alongside attacked them. Not even the most talented Jedi Master could deflect concentrated blaster rifle fire from all angles, and by the end of the day there was just handful of survivors.

But it didn’t have to go down this way. Fans on r/StarWars have noted that there was an ‘Order 65′ that could have prevented Sidious’ victory that was never enacted. Order 65 was first mentioned in 2007 novel Republic Commando: True Colors and again in Order 66: A Republic Commando Novel and says:
