Blumhouse’s The Craft Has Officially Finished Filming

Certain immutable facts of life will never change (well duh, that’s what immutable means you div). Monkeys on the ground, fishes in the sea, birds in the sky, and Hollywood rebooting every damn movie under the sun. Nature in harmony.

The Craft is a 1996 supernatural horror movie and 20 years later it was announced a sequel was officially in production. That sequel has since morphed into a reboot – as per the marketing. Whatever the suitable denomination is – reboot, sequel, remake, rebooquel – today has brought exciting news for those interested in the new Craft film, as production has officially wrapped.

Speaking to TooFab, producer Jason Blum confirmed as such:

“So I can’t report on anything from The Craft except that it’s done shooting. And I’m supposed to see it in about two or three weeks.”

The Craft

No judgement here. I don’t have anything invested in The Craft, or the new version of it, but I trust this will be exciting for those who do. It looks like a sequel that’s been very long-awaited and while there’s no word yet on a release date, it’s definitely happening. Otherwise all this material is going to be sitting in a can, and unless it’s something shamefully bad, I doubt anyone wants that. Or maybe they do. Sorry, I’m rambling.

In any case, the new film will feature Pacific Rim: Uprising, er, star Cailee Spaeny in a lead role, while Zoe Lister-Jones takes the director’s chair. Everything else appears pretty under wraps, and by under wraps, I mean not immediately available to pull from a Wikipedia article. So you know, it’s pretty under wraps.

If the whole thing is a front for a sinister government ploy to brainwash adults into watching The Emoji Movie, you’ll be the first ones to find out, right here. And they say serious journalism is a dying craft. Now there’s the perfect pun to end on. Crafty. Great craftsmanship. The Craft of a craftsman. Sorry, I’m out.

India's Women Cricketers Bat For Higher Pay

India's women cricketers could be forgiven for feeling a little jealous during the Twenty20 World Cup in Australia, where the hosts are paid as much as the men and play in front of packed stands.

Which Microsoft Office product is each Democratic presidential candidate?

ELECTION 2020 Photo by Caroline Brehman/CQ-Roll Call, Inc via Getty Images

On Wednesday night, six Democratic presidential candidates took the debate stage in Las Vegas and we didn’t really learn anything new except that former mayor Pete Buttigieg loves Microsoft Word.

At the beginning of the night’s events, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) tore into Buttigieg discounting his healthcare plan as just a “PowerPoint.” In a total weirdo move, Buttigieg responded by saying “I’m more of a Microsoft Word guy.”

This exchange led The Verge to pair each Democrat on stage with their spirit-Microsoft-Office program. Enjoy.

Word - Pete Buttigieg

Okay. If Pete Buttigieg wants Microsoft Word, he can have it. Word is one of the first pieces of software children learn to use. It’s basic. It’s bland. It’s boring. Word Art isn’t...

Tons Of Great Movies Are Leaving Netflix Next Month

And now, we come to that time of the month when we salute those Netflix titles that will soon be departing the service, moving on to other distributive solutions in that great streaming place in the sky. Or in other words, here are the movies/TV shows leaving Netflix in the month of March. I’ll even be providing some commentary as we go through them (wanted or not).

Leaving March 3rd, we have Black Panther and The Men Who Stare at Goats. I know what the former is, but what on earth is the latter? Actually, I don’t want to know.

Leaving March 4th, meanwhile is F the Prom. You know what to press to pay your respects. These are writing themselves.

Leaving March 7th is a whole raft of obscurities: Blue Jasmine, The Jane Austen Book Club and The Waterboy. Those are then followed by Eat Pray Love on March 9th.

Leaving March 14th, meanwhile, we’ve got Men in Black, Men in Black II, and… this is a real title? Mystery Science Theater 3000 Collection : Classic: Collection 3. I have even less of a clue what that last one is than the goat movie.

I’ll give you the next batch in a block, as there’s lots of individual dates:

  • March 15th – Coraline
  • March 17th – Being Mary Jane: The Series: Season 1-4
  • March 19th – The L Word: Season 1-6, Zodiac
  • March 24th – A Wrinkle in Time

That at long last brings us to the March Netflix departure finale, and they’ve pulled out all the stops. Literally, they’re pulling out all of these movies. March 30th’s Netflix carnage concludes as follows:

  • Batman Begins
  • Charlie’s Angels
  • Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle
  • Death at a Funeral
  • Drugs, Inc.: Season 5
  • Hairspray
  • Kill Bill: Vol. 1
  • Kill Bill: Vol. 2
  • New York Minute
  • P.S. I Love You
  • Paranormal Activity
  • Small Soldiers
  • The Dark Knight
  • The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
  • The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
  • Wild Wild West

You have no idea how long this took to format. Seriously, I’m off to wipe the blood from my fingers. As for finally sitting down to watch these titles, well, you’ve been warned when time is up for each, so make haste.

Watch: Carnage Stand-In Causes Chaos In Venom 2 Set Video

Venom 2 is currently shooting in San Francisco and fans everywhere cannot wait for their first glimpse of the hugely anticipated sequel. Until that first teaser finally arrives, though, a few videos from behind the scenes have popped up, showing the Marvel villain’s nemesis Carnage doing some real damage.

Plot details on Eddie Brock’s second solo outing still remain scarce, unfortunately, but one thing that we do know for sure is that another famous symbiote will be making his big screen debut, as the post-credits scene from the first film unveiled Brock interviewing a deranged serial killer by the name of Cletus Kasady, who fans know from the comics as the aforementioned Carnage.

Tom Hardy will be returning as Eddie, of course, and will be taking on Kasady’s Carnage, who’ll be played by Woody Harrelson. And given how tense the final moments of Venom were, it’ll no doubt be thrilling to see these two collide when they’re in full symbiote form. Not to mention that from the looks of what’s going down on set, it’s going to be a brutal affair.

Reddit user u/Amazonfiretvstik posted a video – see here, as we can’t embed it – showcasing what appears to be a large stand-in for the sequel’s villain ripping Brock’s car to pieces. The angle we get only shows Carnage, but other videos were also posted showcasing the film’s star.

For instance, another clip appeared on social media from Twitter user @Tom_Hardy_Italia and indicates that if you listen carefully, you can hear someone yell, “you want me to come up and show you a real fight?”

The third video to surface, meanwhile, shows a helpless Brock yelling for Carnage to stop. It’s weird that Eddie doesn’t just turn into Venom and stop the mayhem himself, but we’re sure there’s a reason behind this.

While these glimpses from behind the scenes don’t give us much in terms of story, they do provide a general idea of what Carnage’s physique will look like in the final film. And if nothing else, they’ll just continue to heighten the anticipation for Venom 2, which is scheduled to hit theaters on October 2nd, 2020.
