Bill Murray And Sigourney Weaver Have Read The Ghostbusters 3 Script
Last weekend’s Ghostbusters Fan Fest provided us with a number of useful little tidbits about the much-anticipated Ghostbusters 3. Most exciting for a franchise fan like me was the revelation that director Jason Reitman had secured the original dailies of the 1984 shoot, clips of which were played to a clearly delighted audience. But there was one bit of extremely positive news that’s certain to raise the spirits of longtime followers: the return of much of the original cast.
We heard confirmation last week that Bill Murray, Sigourney Weaver, Dan Ackroyd and Ernie Hudson are confirmed to be reprising their roles for the film, which is currently being referred to as Ghostbusters ’20. Obviously, Ackroyd and Hudson returning isn’t a huge surprise, but Bill Murray and Sigourney Weaver? Now that’s a turn up for the books! After all, Murray has been notoriously reticent to return to the role of Peter Venkman, arguing that nobody wants to see a load of fat old guys chasing ghosts about.
But we’ve now had confirmation that the original cast has read Reitman’s screenplay, and the verdict is extremely positive. Dan Ackroyd went into as much detail as he could, calling it “a beautiful script.”
“I can’t say too much about it but it’s going to get made and hopefully there’ll be some familiar faces. It’s so different from even the first and second [film]. This just takes it to a new generation and a new direction that is so warm, heartfelt and indeed, quite scary when you confront some of the issues that are being discussed.”
The very fact that Murray has agreed to appear in the film is also a rubber stamp of sorts. He’s always claimed the script would have to be something truly special to secure his involvement, with him giving a thumbs down to various Ghostbusters sequels over the years.
Aside from the old guard, Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace and Carrie Coon are all attached to the project and it’s likely that there are more stars who’ll tie their names to the feature as time goes on. But for right now, this looks like a very solid cast, a great script and a talented director. Roll on Ghostbusters 3.

Justin Bieber Admits Tom Cruise Could Kick His Ass In A Fight
It seems like almost everyone in the world wants to see Justin Bieber and Tom Cruise trade blows. The Internet was abuzz this week with the prospect of the two A-list celebs stepping into the ring against each other. In fact, the whole thing became so big that it even caught the attention of none other than UFC champion Conor McGregor, who tweeted that he’d be willing to host the fight.
And though we’re still waiting for a response from the Mission Impossible star, a lot of people feel pretty confident he could take the Biebs in a brawl. Despite more than doubling the pop star in age, the 56-year-old actor is notorious for always doing all of his own stunts and is in terrific shape for a man in his fifties. Bieber, on the other hand, might be taller and also has youth on his side, but he’s never been known for his fighting skills.
It seems he knows this, too, as when the paparazzi caught up with him earlier today, Justin explained that the whole thing was just a joke, before admitting that Cruise could definitely take him in a fight.
“It was just a random tweet,” he explained. “I do that stuff sometimes.” “I think he’d probably whup my ass in a fight! I’d have to get in some good shape.”
Again, we’re still awaiting Tom Cruise’s official response to this bizarre situation, but we can’t imagine he’s in any hurry to engage in Twitter shenanigans with someone young enough to be his son. Besides, he’s still hard at work on Top Gun: Maverick, and likely has one of the busiest schedules in all of Hollywood.
In any case, it seems like the much discussed fight is nothing more than a pipe-dream for millions around the world. Though who knows? Maybe Cruise will come back with a Tweet accepting Justin Bieber‘s challenge, forcing the singer to put his money where his mouth is. Stay tuned.

No, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Hasn’t Banned The Word Younglings
Boy, is my face red.
Last week, I reported that Disney’s hot new attraction Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge had banned cast members from using the word “younglings.” The source of the story was park guest @JennyENicholson on Twitter, who said that upon her using the word, a cast member explained that there had been an order from up high to “scrub” younglings from the vocabulary. Their reasoning is that the word has become irrevocably associated with the scene in Revenge of the Sith in which Anakin Skywalker slaughters a room full of children.
That story went around the world, picking up enough steam that Disney has now been forced to issue a clarification, saying the following about it:
Our cast members use that word daily in the new land, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, as part of the interaction with guests. Children in Black Spire Outpost are referred to as ‘younglings.’ Or possibly ‘padawans’ if they are particularly strong with the Force. The littlest ones travel via ‘youngling transport’ — or what we on Earth would call a stroller.
Well, I’m glad we’ve got that cleared up. I have to admit, the original story struck me as plausible, especially as the most prominent use of the word in the franchise comes when Obi-Wan Kenobi tells Padme of Anakin’s fall, explaining that he’s seen “a security hologram of him killing younglings.”
But hey, maybe Disney and Lucasfilm are trying to reclaim the word for all that’s good and wholesome. Perhaps they can trust parents won’t associate it with their kids being massacred dying at the hands of a crazed fallen Jedi (which doesn’t really fit with the whole ‘happiest place on Earth thing’).
Regardless of this little farrago, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has proven the monster hit everyone assumed it would be. Early bird reservations sold out very quickly, and it’s currently the hot ticket in California. If you’ve been, we’re jealous as hell, but let us know what you thought in the comments section below.

Michael Bay’s Lobo Film Is Still In Development
It’s been a red letter day for Lobo. First came the announcement that SYFY is developing a Krypton spinoff about the Main Man. Hot on the heels of Emmet K. Scanlon’s appearance in the show, the network has vowed to do everything they can to bring the further adventures of the “foul-mouthed, dangerous, irascible, intergalactic bounty hunter” to the small screen. But that’s not all, as we’re also hearing that the long-in-development Lobo feature film might have moved back into development at Warner Bros.
The hint comes via The Hollywood Reporter, who mention that with the spinoff in the works, Warner Bros “is eyeing the big-bad for a feature film” and is “developing Lobo as a possible directing vehicle for Michael Bay.” This tallies with a story we reported on way back in February 2018, in which we learned that Bay had been working with Wonder Woman screenwriter Jason Fuchs on the project.
It’s been radio silence since then, leading most to assume the pic was on ice. But, perhaps influenced by the runaway success of the broadly similar Deadpool franchise, Warner Bros seem eager to light the touch-paper on Lobo.
If this project does hit theaters, it’ll be a long time coming. There’s been a Lobo film in the works for about a decade now. The first promising creative team came in 2009 when Joel Silver and Akiva Goldsman were attached to produce a live-action Guy Ritchie movie. Due to the success of his Sherlock Holmes films though, that never panned out. The next attempt then came courtesy of San Andreas’ Brad Peyton, who was lining up Dwayne Johnson in the lead role. Once again, the project hit the skids.
But hey, third time’s the charm, right? Let’s hope that the stars finally align and we can see everyone’s favorite butt-kickin’, cigar-chewin’, last of the Czarnians on the big screen delivering some high octane Bayhem.

League of Legends dev Riot Games is officially under investigation for discrimination
The developer of the popular League of Legends game has been facing down allegations and lawsuits over what’s reportedly a toxic workplace culture, culminating in a mass walkout when the company tried to force two women into arbitration instead of having their day in court. But it now appears that the State of California has been quietly investigating the game developer as well — and that Riot hasn’t been playing ball.
The California Department of Fair Employment and Housing just announced (via Kotaku) that it’s attempting to legally force Riot to cough up employee pay data so it can see whether Riot is paying women less than men, because Riot has refused to provide that data voluntarily.

Everything we think we know about the Pixel 4, from Google’s Pixel 4 reveal
Google decided to jump ahead of leakers today and post a very early photo of the Pixel 4. It’s a basic shot, just showing the back of the phone, but there’s a lot we can tell just by looking at it: it confirms this will be the first Pixel with dual rear cameras, it confirms that Google is significantly changing the Pixel’s design language, and it offers a handful of other details about what to expect from the phone.
Here’s what we can see so far.
Dual cameras
Let’s start with the biggest one: there are two cameras very clearly positioned in the middle of that bulbous square popping out of the back of the phone. Google has made a point in recent years of differentiating the Pixel by sticking with a single rear camera, yet still managing...
