Exclusive: Todd McFarlane offers status update on ‘Spawn’

Talk of a Spawn reboot has been percolating for well over a decade, but it looked as though the project was finally coming to fruition back in 2017 when Todd McFarlane announced that not only was the script complete, but he was planning to make it his feature-length directorial debut.

It would be an understatement to say that progress has been slow since then, with the updated version of the 1997 cult favorite struggling to gain any notable traction. Jamie Foxx remains attached to the title role with Jeremy Renner set to lend support, though, while producer Jason Blum maintains that Spawn is a top priority.

Tom Holland responds to rumors of Daredevil cameo in ‘No Way Home’

Kevin Feige recently sent the Marvel Cinematic Universe fanbase into meltdown when he confirmed that if and when Daredevil returns to the franchise, the role will be played by Charlie Cox.

If we take the myriad of rumors we’ve been hearing for years at face value, then Tom Holland would have been aware of this for a very long time. After all, Cox has been linked with a cameo appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home as Peter Parker’s lawyer since well before the threequel had an official title, so he’ll have been in on the ground floor.

An awful movie that wasted an A-list cast is mounting a streaming comeback

What happens when you take an Academy Award-winning filmmaker, place them in charge of a drama designed to tug at the heartstrings and hire A-list megastar Will Smith, Oscar winners Helen Mirren and Kate Winslet, along with multi-time nominees Edward Norton and Keira Knightley, to round out the principal cast? In the case of Collateral Beauty, you get a cinematic dumpster fire.

The fantastical story is one of those movies you can tell has been precision-engineered and specifically designed with awards season glory in mind, but the core creative team apparently forgot that one of the pre-requisites for critical acclaim is making a film that doesn’t suck.
