What is WiFi 6 and WiGig? How are they different?
In the current setup, it is almost impossible to imagine our lives without Wi-Fi connectivity. I still remember a summer when I had a whale of a time with a 2Mbps connection, but our craving for data has increased exponentially. It’s not just the required throughput to cater to 4k streaming and to download big files. […]

The Tim Cook-backed ‘shower of the future’ is back with a Moen partnership
If you’ve ever wanted to indulge in a life of luxury, with the weirdly specific desire to shower like a billionaire, you’re in luck. Silicon Valley shower startup Nebia is releasing a cheaper, updated version of its Nebia Spa Shower, which uses atomized water droplets to conserve water. The company’s partnered up with Moen, and their Kickstarter for the Nebia Spa Shower 2.0 launches today.
Since it was founded in 2014, Nebia’s gotten some pretty big names attached to it — its product design engineers previously worked at NASA, Tesla, and Apple, and the company is backed by the likes of Tim Cook, Eric Schmidt, and Y Combinator. Nebia says its halo showerhead and wand can spray you with “millions of tiny droplets with 10 times more...

Swiss e-voting trial offers $150,000 in bug bounties to hackers
The Swiss government is offering bug bounties of up to CHF 50,000 (around $50,000) to anyone who can expose vulnerabilities in its internet-based e-voting system in a test later this month. In total, 150,000 CHF (around $150,000) will be up for grabs for any white hat hackers who register for the “Public Intrusion Test” (PIT). The Swiss Post system will be open for a dummy election between February 24th and March 24th, the length of a typical Swiss federal vote, during which time any registered “white hat” hackers will be free to discover and report vulnerabilities.
This PIT comes as the Swiss government is planning to expand its e-voting capabilities by October 2019 to two thirds of the 26 cantons that make up the Swiss Confederation....

Avengers: Endgame Merch Reveals New Look At Quantum Realm Suits
We’ve seen a plethora of Avengers: Endgame toy leaks emerge online in recent weeks, a number of which have seemingly confirmed the long-running belief that the Avengers: Infinity War sequel will have our heroes suiting up in some shiny new white costumes.
Commonly referred to as ‘Quantum Realm suits,’ we already know that this mysterious place will be of great significance in the upcoming movie, with the most prominent theory being that several characters will journey into the microverse and perhaps even travel back in time in an effort to reverse the Decimation from Infinity War. That remains as speculation for the time being, of course, but some new Endgame merch once again puts the spotlight on those aforementioned suits, and this time, it’s Cap and Iron Man donning them.
As you’ll see in the gallery below, we have some action figures of two of the franchise’s most beloved heroes and they’re wearing those familiar white costumes that we’ve seen many times now. They look more or less the same here as they have in previous merchandise leaks, but it’s nice to get another glimpse of them regardless.
Of course, these suits are just one of several revelations that a recent stream of merch and promo art has brought us. In the various unofficial material that’s been dropping at an alarming rate lately, we also saw the costumes worn by Pepper Potts and Clint Barton in their respective new personas of Rescue and Ronin. Not to mention there was that toy that revealed Hulk’s new weapon, too.
Suffice it to say, it’s been an exciting time for Marvel fans, and with only a few months to go now before Avengers: Endgame storms theaters, you could even say that the best is yet to come.

The Search Is On For Lost Footage From Halloween 5: The Revenge Of Michael Myers
Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers isn’t exactly considered a franchise high point by fans or critics, with the feature coming out to lousy reviews and earning the lowest global box office gross of any Halloween film to date. But like every entry in the long-running slasher saga, the 1989 flick has its defenders, and even those who don’t care for the movie may be interested to find out what Compass International Pictures and Trancas International Films unearth from its production.
The official Halloween Twitter account has announced that the search is underway for “lost” footage from The Revenge of Michael Myers, be it uncut kill scenes or the unused “Dr. Death” opening. To elaborate on the latter, the finished cut of Halloween 5 begins with a severely wounded Michael Myers washing up at the home of a hermit and falling into a coma on October 31st, 1988. Over the course of the next year, the hermit nurses his guest back to health, and on October 30th, 1989, Michael wakes up and kills the hermit, before returning to Haddonfield to find his niece Jamie Lloyd.
In the opening sequence that was originally shot, however, Michael instead stumbled upon the home of a sinister figure named Dr. Death, whose shack was filled with runes and tablets. After bringing Michael back to life through occult means, it’s said that Dr. Death suffered more or less the same fate as the hermit who replaced him in the theatrical cut.
Now it seems that the studio is hoping to rediscover the lost opening, and while this sequence may not fix every issue with Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers, it’ll at least ensure that the later, cult-related developments in Michael’s story aren’t quite so out of the blue.

New Pet Sematary Poster Pays Tribute To Another Stephen King Adaptation
Though we’re currently in the midst of a exceptionally big year for movies based on Stephen King novels, the renowned author’s body of work is no stranger to the big screen, and in the new poster for Pet Sematary, the upcoming remake of one ‘80s King adaptation pays tribute to another.
The 1983 novel Pet Sematary was last brought to theaters with the 1989 film of the same name. Three years prior, however, Rob Reiner’s Stand by Me offered an even more beloved take on a King book, and it may not be mere coincidence that the latest Pet Sematary poster seems to echo a poster for the 1986 coming-of-age flick. If you’d care to see for yourself, both posters are viewable in the gallery below.
Of course, despite the same author being behind the source material of Pet Sematary and Stand by Me, you can expect Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer’s horror movie to have little in common with Reiner’s drama besides, well, dead kids. The masked children in the Pet Sematary poster, for instance, seem to be involved in some less-than-heartwarming ceremonies on the site of an ancient burial ground that has the power to raise the dead, and going by the trailer released last week, these silent figures also have a tendency to get pretty violent on occasion.
In any case, you can judge for yourself where the new Pet Sematary ranks in the ever-growing list of King adaptations when the film hits theaters on April 5th, 2019. After that, the author sees yet more of his work reach cinemas later in the year, with It: Chapter Two due for release on September 6th, before Doctor Sleep comes out on November 8th.

Apparently Only J.J. Abrams Knows Star Wars: Episode IX’s Title
With Disney holding back on promoting Star Wars: Episode IX until Avengers: Endgame has come and gone, fans are growing curious as to what we can expect in the closer to the Sequel Trilogy. Right now, in fact, it seems like most would just settle for knowing the title.
There’ve been numerous leaks and theories about what it could be called, but don’t believe that any of them are true, as it looks like only the movie’s director knows the actual moniker. While engaging with his fans on Instagram, Lord of the Rings star Dominic Monaghan – who’s traveling to a galaxy far, far away in Episode IX to play an undisclosed role – was inevitably asked what the title of the film is. “ONLY @jjabramsofficial knows,” the actor replied. “It’s good to have secrets on @starwars.”
This fits with what we’ve heard before, which is that even the Lucasfilm Story Group is in the dark about the title, as creative executive Pablo Hidalgo – usually the first guy to know about the latest Star Wars info – revealed that he wasn’t aware of what Episode IX was called.
Recently, we thought we had the title when it was widely rumored that the film would be called “Balance of the Force.” It wasn’t a bad name all things considered, as it evoked an important theme discussed in previous films and hinted at a battle to come between Rey and Kylo Ren, bringing balance to the force either way, but it’s highly unlikely that this is the real deal. Maybe Mark Hamill was on to something though when he noticed that Futurama predicted the movie’s title years ago.
In any case, all will be revealed soon, as Star Wars: Episode IX – insert real title here – hits theaters on December 20th.
