Watch: Venom 2 Set Video Shows Cletus Kasady In Action
Given all the hype that followed the release of the first Morbius trailer, many people may’ve forgotten that another Sony-Marvel effort is hitting theaters this year as well. Yes, Venom 2 is set to slither into cinemas this coming fall and with production now well underway, we’re finally beginning to get some looks at it.
To be fair, the production team has done a pretty good job of keeping spoilers away from the public eye, but various set photos and videos have begun to trickle onto the web and it’s probably safe to say that everyone’s beyond eager for their first look at Woody Harrelson’s Carnage. Most likely, the studio will save that for the first trailer, but we do have the next best thing for you.
Following Tom Hardy sharing our first look at Cletus Kasady earlier today, we now have have another glimpse at the man who’ll become Carnage via the set video below. Unfortunately, it’s not the highest quality and we don’t get to see the aforementioned symbiote here (as the character will obviously be brought to life via VFX), but another look at Kasady is certainly welcome at this stage.
Here we see Woody Harrelson filming as Cletus Kasady!
It looks like Kasady has been stopped on the street by some cops and they’re shooting him.
I Wonder if his hand movements will involve the Symbiote in post production?
Either way it looks great!
— Let’s Talk Carnage! (@LetsTalkCarnage) February 17, 2020
From what we know so far thanks to some leaked plot details, Brock will link Cletus to the destruction of his childhood orphanage, which adds to his long list of crimes and helps put him away in prison. Kasady will eventually escape, though, with Brock’s evidence fueling his thirst for revenge and getting back at the investigative journalist.
But Kasady won’t be the only villain on Eddie’s tail in the movie, as he’ll also have to contend with Frances Barrison/Shriek, Cletus’ girlfriend and partner in crime. How exactly she’ll factor into things remains to be seen, but we should find out more later this year, before Venom 2 hits theaters on October 2nd, 2020.

The Batman Composer Fires Back At Batsuit Critics
It’s fair to say that the brief look we received last week of Robert Pattinson’s Batsuit has stirred up a lot of debate online, from those who are already unhappy with the direction Matt Reeves’ The Batman is going in, to those that have already made some creative interpretations of the camera test. It’s worth remembering here that the camera test was always going to be just an indication of what to expect from the final movie though, with early criticism drawing a disbelieving response from the film’s composer Michael Giacchino.
Giacchino, whose score can be heard in the teaser, took the time to respond to some of the (rare) negative comments on Reeves’ camera test. Most notably, when one user claimed that the clip wasn’t what he expected, Giacchino had a great response:
So confused. Is this better? pic.twitter.com/ZhG2vwjrJh
— Michael Giacchino (@m_giacchino) February 14, 2020
Looking through the other replies to the clip, though, it’s clear that most fans are loving Giacchino’s score, and the ways in which it references some of the other classic themes from the history of the character:
If that's your score with it, we're going to get a Batman movie for the ages.

Anyone else feel like the resolution for the bat clip should be the 40 second mark of the original? It’s set up so nicely. LOVE the new vibe. pic.twitter.com/Ng2BXiG9he
— michael j. adams (@RevMikeAdams) February 15, 2020
Of course, The Batman isn’t the first time that Giacchino has worked with director Matt Reeves, having previously been on board for the rebooted Planet of the Apes films and Let Me In, among many others, as well as providing scores for MCU pictures such as Doctor Strange and Spider-Man: Far From Home. Throw in the music for everything from Up to Jurassic World, and many more films, and Giacchino’s ability to do something new with a Batman theme shouldn’t even be questioned.
Furthermore, he’s been a vocal supporter for Reeves’ direction and was full of praise for what he’d seen so far from the planning of the movie during the summer of 2019. It also seems that Giacchino has been wanting to work on a Dark Knight movie for some time, and was one of the first names to be associated with The Batman in 2017, back when a 2019 release date seemed possible.
We’re certainly excited to hear what Giacchino has produced for the final score of pic, then, and from the snippets we get in the camera test, it does seem likely that it’ll elevate the more grounded approach to the Dark Knight recently hinted at by Reeves. In any case, we’ll finally get to see the finished work when The Batman reaches theaters on June 25th, 2021.

Jason Blum Says Halloween Kills Is A Very Big Movie With A Large Canvas
This Halloween, Michael Myers is returning to wreak havoc in Haddonfield, Illinois for the umpteenth time. Blumhouse successfully relaunched the slasher franchise back in October 2018, with their take on the Halloween universe being stretched out into a trilogy over the next couple of years. With Halloween Ends arriving in 2021, this year we have Halloween Kills. And we can apparently expect a movie with a huge scale.
Speaking to Too Fab, producer Jason Blum had a few brief words to offer about the sequel, which will see Jamie Lee Curtis coming back once more as Michael’s eternal enemy Laurie Strode.
“Halloween Kills is a very BIG movie,” Blum told Too Fab. “The canvas of Halloween Kills is very large.”
This is an intriguing tease as operating on a wide canvas isn’t necessarily something you would expect to be said about a Halloween movie. 2018’s film did a good job playing with the formula of the series a little, though, so presumably Kills will go even further into that, which will apparently result in this bigger scale.
It’s definitely going deeper into the nostalgia as a whole host of stars from the original 1978 movie will be back for this one. These include Nancy Stephens as Dr. Loomis’ assistant Marion Chambers, Kyle Richards as Lindsey Wallace, one of the kids Laurie babysat the first night Michael attacked, and Charles Cyphers, the former sheriff of Haddonfield who hunted The Shape alongside Loomis. Anthony Michael Hall is also taking over the role of Tommy Doyle, previously portrayed by Brian Andrews and Paul Rudd.
The first look footage that arrived last year revealed that the sequel will return to Haddonfield Memorial Hospital, where Laurie will be treated for her wounds from the last movie. This neatly mirrors the set-up of the first Halloween II from 1980, which never happened in this current continuity, remember. Alongside Curtis, Judy Greer and Andi Matichak will again play lead roles as Laurie’s daughter Karen and granddaughter Allyson.
Halloween Kills slashes into theaters on October 16th.
