Acer’s Predator Triton 700 gaming laptop for $999 is a steal
Acer is swooping in right before Black Friday with one of the best PC gaming laptop deals we’ve seen so far: its 2017 Predator Triton 700 is $2,000 off for a final price of $999.99. It’s not the newest of machines, so you won’t find an Nvidia RTX graphics chip or a 9th Gen Intel processor inside, but it has plenty of power nevertheless.
This laptop has a 15.6-inch 1080p display with a 120Hz refresh rate and G-Sync support — the latter spec a rarity in gaming laptops, especially one this affordable. The higher refresh rate will help you see your games running at up to 120 frames per second instead of being locked to 60 fps like the displays on most gaming laptops. The G-Sync support should also eliminate screen tearing, which is common to...

Avengers: Endgame Deleted A Great Miek And Spider-Man Scene
Avengers: Endgame has been gradually revealing its secrets ever since its release. First, we got an extended theatrical cut, then a home release with a wealth of behind-the-scenes information and deleted scenes, then the Disney Plus release came with its own deleted content and now, perhaps finally, we have Avengers: Endgame – The Art of the Movie, which reveals a dizzying array of cool concepts that never made it in front of the camera.
We’ve covered a few of these over the last couple of days, but in my opinion, one of the best is this unused moment from the final battle that’d have given Miek his moment in the spotlight. Perhaps unfairly overshadowed by Korg, Miek is not without his fans and they’d have gone crazy if they’d have seen his battle tactics.
Judging by this storyboard, we would’ve seen Korg and Miek fighting together, with Miek abandoning his armor to become much quicker and more agile. Marvel Studios visual development artist Jackson Sze explains how the rest of the scene would go:
“So Miek gets surrounded by Outriders, and you think he’s down, but he pops out of the crowd and does a flourish and splays out right in front of the sun—so you get his cool silhouette. And he lands on each Outrider, jumping from one to the other—super agile without all his armor, because it’s been broken — and he’s actually laying eggs. And of course, Spidey sees it and is like, ‘Oh my God, it’s actually laying eggs.’ The last few frames are just Korg catching Miek like a football, and then they strike a hero pose — really weird, but hopefully funny.”
It’s also a neat callback to the part in Avengers: Infinity War where Spider-Man reveals that he’s terrified of the idea of an alien implanting an egg inside him. While the final battle was stuffed full of amazing moments for Marvel heroes, I wish we’d gotten to see this one. Korg and Miek might be two incredibly obscure comic book characters, but ever since Thor: Ragnarok audiences have taken them to their hearts.
Fortunately, it appears that both will be appearing in Thor: Love and Thunder. And if Disney’s feeling profligate after Avengers: Endgame‘s barnstorming success, why not give them their own Taika Waititi-directed Disney Plus show?

Karen Gillan Would Love A Movie Based On Avengers: Endgame’s Fake Script
Given the hunger for info when it came to the highly-anticipated movie, security on Avengers: Endgame was so tight that the cast was only given access to their own parts and not the full storyline. What’s more, in order to keep spoilers to an absolute minimum, fake scripts were released that hid the real plot developments behind fictitious ones that were never intended to make it to the screen.
But, you know what, we bet even these fake scripts would have made one heck of a film. That’s what Endgame star Karen Gillan thinks, anyway. The Nebula actress caught up with ComicBook.com while promoting her latest blockbuster, Jumanji: The Next Level, and joked that she’d like to see a full movie based on the other screenplay.
“No, I didn’t know what was happening [on Endgame]. [On Jumanji] I get the whole thing. But you know, they wrote a fake script on Avengers: Endgame, so they would give out a script, but it wasn’t the real script! I want to see that script made into a movie. Can you imagine?”
To show the extent of how much Marvel keeps its stars in the dark, Gillan previously admitted just prior to Endgame‘s release that she had no idea how the movie would end. And she’s not alone in that, either – notorious blabbermouths Mark Ruffalo and Tom Holland were prevented from spoiling the conclusion as much as possible, though Ruffalo still managed it.
As for what the fake script actually contained, a featurette on the Avengers: Endgame Blu-Ray explained that mostly the other screenplay, as well as the one for Avengers: Infinity War, replaced the big shocking moments with alternate, less shocking scenes. So, for instance, Thor didn’t behead Thanos in the fake version but simply knocked him unconscious with a bump on the head. You can watch a comical animated reconstruction of that and other scenes here.

Watch Tom Hiddleston React To Seeing His Thor Audition For The First Time
Tom Hiddleston’s Loki is without a doubt the most recognizable and popular villain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s rogues gallery. The actor has been playing the God of Mischief for almost a decade now, appearing in six movies as either a friend or enemy, or a little bit of both, to his brother Thor.
There’s no denying that Loki is a huge fan favorite, so much so that many people were devastated when he was seemingly killed off for good in the opening scene of Avengers: Infinity War. However, Marvel aren’t ones to leave a marketable character by the wayside, even in death, and thanks to the time-traveling antics of Endgame, the character is set to headline his own series on Disney Plus.
Loki has been the English actor’s career-defining role, but as many people know, Hiddleston originally auditioned for the title part in Kenneth Branagh’s Thor before being awarded the role of chief antagonist. And on a recent appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, the host actually played footage from Hiddleston’s original audition, and he admitted that the best man won the race to headline the MCU’s first Asgardian blockbuster.
“Basically, at the time, they were looking for less well-established actors, so that the audience didn’t have an association. They just wanted people to see these new characters, these new actors. If you were over six foot and you’ve got blonde hair, you can come and have a pop at it. I actually never auditioned for Loki, I only ever auditioned for Thor, which is nuts… I think we can all agree, they cast the right actor.”
It worked out well in the end for both Hiddleston and eventual co-star Chris Hemsworth, with the two becoming integral parts in what would quickly go on to become the biggest franchise in the history of cinema. It may have seemed like Loki‘s time in the MCU was coming to an end, but Disney Plus has breathed new life into many of the superhero series’ supporting characters, and there’s no doubt that audiences will be tuning in eagerly to see what new adventures the trickster will be getting himself into when the show drops on Disney Plus in 2021.

Birds Of Prey Reshoots Have Reportedly Dramatically Improved The Movie
Warner Bros. and DC should be feeling pretty confident about their upcoming slate of projects given their recent successes, with both Aquaman and Joker sailing past the billion dollar mark at the box office despite the two movies residing at opposite ends of the spectrum. One is a brightly-colored, CGI-fueled blockbuster that doesn’t take itself too seriously, while the other is a gritty R-rated psychological thriller, yet both played well with critics and audiences to a huge degree.
Following the underwhelming formative years of the DCEU, the studio seem to have steadied the ship and now have an exciting slate ahead, with Birds of Prey next out of the gate in February 2020. Like many of the franchise’s previous efforts, Cathy Yan’s comic book flick was said to be in serious trouble, with John Wick director Chad Stahelski stepping in to helm extensive reshoots after Warner Bros. were said to be unhappy with the first rough cut of the movie.
This led to more speculation that Birds of Prey was shaping up to be another DCEU installment stitched together in post-production in order to save face, but a new report indicates that not only is the female-driven caper said to be aiming for an R-rating in the wake of Joker’s hefty profits, but the latest version of the movie has actually dramatically improved the finished product.
“In the case of Birds of Prey, the film won’t be in the pitch-black, grim vein of Joker. Insiders describe the film as a more humorous, spirited, girl-gang adventure, albeit not one for younger childer. A series of recent reshoots dramatically improved test screening results and the studio is confident Birds of Prey will be a hit when it opens in February.”
That’s hugely encouraging news for a movie that hasn’t been grabbing too many headlines recently, especially with Birds of Prey‘s release date being less than three months away. It looks like Joker has paved the way for DC and Warner Bros. to take more risks with their comic book properties, which will in turn give the filmmakers more creative freedom to do things their own way, without having to worry about heavy interference or pressure from the studio.

First Description Of Robert Pattinson’s Batsuit In The Batman Teases An Awesome Costume
Riddle me this, riddle me that, what will Robert Pattinson look like in the suit of the bat? That’s the Riddler-ized version of the question on every Bat-fan’s mind right now. We’ve got over the shock of the former Twilight star playing Bruce Wayne in Matt Reeves’ The Batman surprisingly quickly and now we’re all eager to see him in the iconic costume. Unfortunately, though, we’re unlikely to for a while. But to ease the blow, we’ve at least got some new info on how it might look.
We Got This Covered has heard from some reliable sources – the same ones who told us Pattinson had beat out Nicholas Hoult for the titular role, and that Mahershala Ali was going to star in the film before he dropped out, which we now know to be true – how the costume will appear. We’ve been informed that it’ll be mostly based off the design of the suit seen in The Long Halloween – which is already an influence on the story – and that it’ll resemble the one illustrated by artist Tim Sale in the graphic novel. Color-wise, that means it’ll be black and grey with a hint of dark blue, too.
Sale’s stylized artwork is legendary amongst comic readers, so this is exciting news to hear. TLH‘s Batman is also notable for possessing a very long, billowing cape and tall, pointy ears on the cowl. These two notable features weren’t specified to us by our sources, so we’re unsure if they’ll make it into the movie’s costume design. Given the practicalities, though, I’d speculate that these elements may be toned down for the screen. In any case, seeing as this intel comes from the same sources who told us WB wanted J.J. Abrams to direct a Superman or Green Lantern film back in September, which Variety just confirmed today, we’re inclined to believe it.
Pattinson’s revealed that he already wore the Batsuit as part of his screen tests for the part. However, it’s probable that this was one inherited from a previous production, maybe Christian Bale’s from The Dark Knight Rises. This is the usual practice in these situations. Like how Henry Cavill wore a very classic Superman suit for his Man of Steel audition.
The Batman is expected to head into production in early 2020 and is due for release in theaters on June 25th, 2021. Which means that with any luck, we might just get our first look at Pattinson in costume early in the new year. Fingers crossed.
