Chris Hemsworth’s Trainer Teases Huge Transformation For Hulk Hogan Role
While Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man and Chris Evans’ Captain America have officially left the Avengers, Chris Hemsworth‘s Thor is still sticking around. For a bit, at least. Not only is the God of Thunder virtually immortal, but he was last seen venturing into deep space with the equally durable Guardians of the Galaxy.
The main question, then, is not whether Thor will return, but what he’ll look like when he does. In his latest standalone film, Ragnarok, the character underwent quite the change, as Taika Waititi opted to cut his manes and give him an eye-patch. Then, in Endgame, Thor’s look was altered yet again, much to the shock of fans. The character’s manes returned and they were more untamed than ever before. Most radically, however, was the guy’s body, which now sported a big beer belly fostered by weeks of uninterrupted Fortnite playing.
Whether Thor will retain his “Big Lewboski” look or revert back to his “normal” self for Love and Thunder remains to be seen. However, as far as Hemsworth’s personal trainer is concerned, the latter may be more likely.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Jono Castano Acero said the actor’s body is capable of building up enormous amounts of muscle. “Hemsworth is going to pack on some major pounds for this role,” he says, referring to an upcoming biopic about the life of WWE legend Hulk Hogan, whom the actor will be portraying, “so it’s going to be tough work, of course.”
“With any transformation, diet, exercise and your mental state all play a big role in the outcome,” explained Jono. “Chris has always looked amazing in all his roles, so I am confident he can achieve this physique.”
While the actual Hogan is widely believed to have used steroids to obtain his abnormal physique, Hemsworth himself has no intentions of using them. “One of the most important aspects I get my clients to think about is why they want to make the change,” Acero explained. “Your mental state needs to be a positive one.”
Sounds like Chris Hemsworth has a pretty big transformation ahead of him, then, and we can’t wait to see how the actor looks in the role.

Watch: Deleted Avengers: Infinity War Scene Shows Smart Hulk Transformation
One of the nicest surprises in Avengers: Endgame was Mark Ruffalo’s chilled out ‘smart’ Hulk. Throughout Avengers: Infinity War, the Hulk refused to emerge after having been pummelled by Thanos in the opening scenes. Writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely originally planned for this situation to resolve itself during the final battle, with Banner and Hulk merging during a fight with Cull Obsidian (and probably bursting out of the Hulkbuster armor).
That scene, together with one of Falcon and Black Widow reacting to the new smart Hulk, was filmed and effects work began. However, relatively late in the day, it was decided that they were to be left on the cutting room floor, with the Russos, Markus and McFeely explaining that it introduced a note of victory into a scene where the universe was dealing with the immediate tragic impact of the Snap. The sequence is now being discussed again though on social media by fans and you can check it out below.

It’s a cool scene, especially in the way it calls back to Black Widow’s Hulk-calming tactics we saw in Avengers: Age of Ultron. I think it’s right that they cut it from Infinity War though, as it would have spoiled the downbeat, miserable ending they were going for. Perhaps it’d have been nice to see this in Endgame, but it’s difficult to know where you’d fit it into an already very busy movie. Still, the Hulk undergoing a major character development offscreen is a bad case of breaking “show don’t tell.”
So, what’s next for Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk? Well, he was the key to undoing Thanos’ Snap, though seriously damaged his arm in the process. Theoretically, he should be able to heal from this injury, but his arm appeared to still be out of action in scenes that took place sometime after he injured it. Perhaps the best chance might be for him to show up in the upcoming Disney+ She-Hulk series? In any case, I doubt the angry green giant will be gone for long.

Solo Star Would Do A Sequel To Explore Who Han Becomes At The End
Remember Alden Ehrenreich? He played a young Han Solo in Solo: A Star Wars Story. I’m refreshing your memory because A) he seems to have fallen off the face of the earth after the movie’s release and B) that was only two years ago and yet it feels like a decade.
The larger point being made here is that the film kind of did the opposite for Ehrenreich’s career of what he thought it would. Kind of like Brandon Routh after Superman Returns. Solo received decent reviews upon its release in May of 2018, but the movie is by far the lowest-grossing Star Wars pic, having earned less than $400 million. Oh, and that number isn’t domestic. It’s worldwide.
In the end, the film cost Disney nearly $80 million thanks in large part to a ballooning budget caused by the changing of directors and reshoots. But despite all of this, there’s been a recent campaign for a sequel to get made.
Ehrenreich has been making the media rounds promoting his new Peacock show, Brave New World, and naturally, Star Wars has come up a few times. While he’s unsure about a sequel ever getting made, if it did happen, he would be interested in exploring the character we see at the end of the first movie.
“I would. It would have to be the right version of it,” Ehrenreich shared with the Happy Sad Confused podcast. “What’s cool and kind of free, in a way, is the real fun of [Han Solo], my favorite part of that character, is something that kicks in at the end of the movie. It’s when he becomes that guy at the end, that’s the guy we love. So getting to that, and going from there is interesting, so we’ll see. But I think now they’re being so inventive with how they’re using Star Wars and putting out stories in a different way that maybe I could see some out of the box interesting iteration of it somewhere. We’ll see, who knows?”
He seems to be alluding to the possibility of a continuation on Disney Plus. The Mandalorian was a smash hit and an Obi-Wan show with Ewan McGregor is in the works. A smaller scale follow up would make sense, then, especially when looking at the box office results. Ehrenreich signed a multi-picture deal (par for the course in franchises), too, so he would still be under contract should they decide to make it.
Star Wars on the big screen is currently on a losing streak. The Last Jedi was a massive success, but the divisiveness of that film clearly affected Solo and The Rise of Skywalker, which landed with a thud. As such, the small screen seems to be the correct route for Solo: A Star Wars Story moving forward.
