Jeff Bezos’ girlfriend shared compromising texts with her brother, who sold them, WSJ reports
New York prosecutors have evidence suggesting that Jeff Bezos’ girlfriend, Lauren Sanchez, shared compromising texts about her affair with Bezos to her brother, Michael Sanchez, The Wall Street Journal reports. Michael then reportedly sold those photos to the National Enquirer, which then published a story about Lauren and Bezos’ affair last January. The WSJ says its reporters have seen the texts themselves.
Bezos’ affair returned to the limelight this week when The Guardian reported that it was “highly probable” that Saudi Arabia hacked Jeff Bezos’ phone in May 2018. According to this theory, Bezos’ phone was compromised when he received a WhatsApp message with a malicious video file from the crown prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin...

Vine successor Byte is available now on iOS and Android
Dom Hofmann, the co-creator of Vine who has been quietly working on a successor to the short-form video platform, says the new app, called Byte, is available now on iOS and Android. The app has been available in beta form for quite some time, but its launch late on Friday afternoon came as a complete surprise.
Hofmann has been developing Byte on and off for years, after he quit Vine just after its acquisition by Twitter. Last we heard from him in an official capacity about the app’s launch (he’s been regularly dropping updates in the app’s rather active online forum) was in November 2018, when Hofmann said it would be arriving in the spring of the following year.

Anaconda Franchise Getting A Meg-Style Reboot
You read that right! After years of lying dormant, the serpent-fueled horror series is coming back to the big screen. As reported by Bloody Disgusting, Columbia Pictures is looking to revive the Anaconda franchise, which, if we’re being completely honest, hasn’t exactly stood the test of time. The ’90s were filled with plenty of forgettable horror movies, and the original 1997 film is certainly no exception.
Unfortunately, details are rather scarce at the moment, but it looks like Columbia Pictures is bringing Evan Daugherty on board to pen the script. While he’s new to the horror scene, Daugherty has made a name for himself already, having been credited as a screenwriter on Snow White and the Huntsman, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Divergent, just to name a few. In addition, Bloody Disgusting reports that the film is being developed as a “reimagining” of the original, as Columbia is looking to develop it with a larger budget in mind, not unlike 2018’s The Meg.
While the original was a moderate success (grossing $136.8 million against a $45 million budget), it’s perhaps best remembered as a springboard for Jennifer Lopez, Ice Cube, Danny Trejo and Owen Wilson, all of whom went on to star in (arguably) bigger and better movies. From there, the franchise began going downhill, with 2004’s Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid only grossing a mere $71 million. The next three entries would all go on to become made-for-TV movies and needless to say, they’re as bad as you’d expect.
That being said, we’re curious. With proper studio backing and budget to match, do you think Anaconda can climb back up the food chain, or is it poised to flounder and drop dead? Be sure to let us know in the comments below.

Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness Rumored To Introduce Big MCU Villain
With Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness set to start shooting in May, we’re expecting a flurry of activity surrounding the latest installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the coming weeks. Obviously, the main focus will be on finding a director after Scott Derrickson exited the project following creative differences with Kevin Feige, but there’s also a whole lot of casting to be done.
It remains to be seen whether or not the Sorcerer Supreme’s sequel will be getting any last-minute rewrites now that Derrickson is no longer involved, but we know that he’ll retain an executive producer credit, which is more ceremonial than anything else. Last we heard, the script was coming from relative unknown Jade Halley Bartlett, although the eventual replacement director might want to put their own stamp on things.
All we know plot-wise about Multiverse of Madness is that it follows directly on from the events of WandaVision, and that the use of multiple alternate realities has seen it labeled as perhaps the most important entry in the MCU’s Phase Four. Outside of the four leads, nobody else has been officially added to the ensemble yet, but there’s no doubt going to be a lot of supporting roles to fill.
Virtually every major character Marvel have at their disposal has been linked to a cameo at some point, including both Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine. Furthermore, yesterday brought the news that Marvel have put out a casting call for someone described very similarly to Miss America, and now the latest rumor indicates that the villainous Namor could be another name under consideration to pop up in the movie’s multiverse.
There’s been plenty of speculation about Marvel possibly getting the rights back to the Sub-Mariner from Universal, and even if they haven’t, the studio are free to use him as a supporting character in the same way as the Hulk. Besides, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is the ideal opportunity to debut a couple of new faces to see how both fans and general audiences react, especially when someone like Namor has a lot of superficial similarities to Jason Momoa’s Aquaman to the uninitiated.

US pulls rule that would have made it harder for American companies to sell to Huawei
The US Department of Commerce has pulled a potential regulation would have made it more difficult for US companies to sell to Huawei, according to sources who spoke with the Wall Street Journal, after the Pentagon and Treasury Department protested the rule.
Right now, US companies can sell chips or other electronic goods to Huawei from their overseas locations without an export license as long as those goods are made with less than 25 percent of materials or patents that aren’t made by US companies.
However, the Commerce Department had proposed a new rule to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) that would have lowered that percentage to 10 percent. The Pentagon apparently objected to that change because it believed it would hurt US...

Steve-O Says He Hasn’t Signed On For Jackass 4 Yet
Just when you though you’d never hear those words again – “Hello, I’m Johnny Knoxville and welcome to Jackass” – it turns out that we will indeed bear witness to Mr. Knoxville speaking them once more and we’ll do so in just over a year. And that’s because a few months ago, Paramount made Jackass 4 official by giving it a release date of March 5th, 2021.
While most of the death-defying stuntmen in the group have continued to pop up here and there in the time since we were graced with Jackass 3D – which, for those keeping track, was 2010 – fans have long been hoping that they’d get a proper fourth outing. And now, their prayers have been answered. But the question still remains: who from the titular squad will be back?
Well, obviously we can count Knoxville in, but aside from him, no one’s been confirmed yet. Not even his right-hand man Steve-O. While speaking with MMA Junkie, the fan favorite said that Jackass 4 is definitely happening but revealed that he’s not locked in to make an appearance. At least, not yet he’s not.
“It has been greenlit by Paramount Pictures, yeah. They say March of 2021. But they haven’t given me an offer that I can really take seriously yet. Not to be rude or anything, but… I don’t have a contract yet. So we’ll see.”
Honestly, we’d be pretty shocked if Paramount moved forward without someone as important to the group as Steve-O and are fairly confident that the two parties will be able to work something out. After all, it just wouldn’t be the same without him.
But even if he doesn’t return for some reason, we’ve no doubt Knoxville and the rest of his cohorts have some crazy new stunts in store for us, with the ringleader never failing to keep us entertained – be it back on the Jackass TV show or in each of the films. Stupid and insane they may be, but no one can deny that this troupe is a ton of fun to watch.
Tell us, though, are you looking forward to Jackass 4? Or do you feel that this strange but amusing group should step back as they’re now getting too old for these shenanigans? Sound off in the usual place down below and watch this space for more.
