Zipline and Walmart to launch drone deliveries of health and wellness products

Zipline

Zipline is partnering with Walmart for a new drone delivery operation in the US, the companies announced. The program is for on-demand deliveries of health and wellness products and will begin in a trial early next year near Walmart’s headquarters in Bentonville, Arkansas. Zipline’s launch and release system allows for on-demand delivery in less than an hour, and operating from a Walmart store, can service a 50-mile radius.

Earlier this year Zipline announced it was partnering with a hospital system in North Carolina to make contactless deliveries of medical supplies and personal protective equipment. And this year wasn’t the first time Zipline’s drones have been used for medical supply deliveries. In 2016, it launched the first...

Watch: First Trailer For Sacha Baron Cohen’s New Netflix Movie

Netflix has been on a roll with new originals lately. This month alone has already seen chilling horror I’m Thinking of Ending Things, romantic comedy Love, Guaranteed, sci-fi drama show Away, comedy horror hit The Babysitter: Killer Queen and many more. Not to mention we’ve got Tom Holland’s new film dropping this coming week, too.

But with competition in the streaming wars seriously heating up, Netflix is going to have to continue bringing their A-game in regards to their original programming and they certainly seem to be doing that with the upcoming release of The Trial of the Chicago 7.

A historical drama written and directed by Aaron Sorkin, the film is set in 1960s Chicago and tells the story of seven people on trial for their roles in the DNC riots. Eddie Redmayne, Sacha Baron Cohen, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Joseph Gordon-Levitt feature, with a supporting cast that boasts names like Mark Rylance and Frank Langella. Clearly, this one has awards darling written all over it, and while it remains to be seen how it’ll ultimately turn out, the first trailer up above is certainly promising.

The Trial of the Chicago 7

After all, it’s hard to go wrong with a cast like the one we just mentioned and Sorkin, of course, is no stranger to critical acclaim, being one of the most celebrated writers in the business. Admittedly, this is only his second movie as a director, but his first, Molly’s Game, certainly showed us that he can handle himself behind the camera.

Of course, we’ve seen tremendously talented casts and crews get together for films that have been colossal misfires in the past, but something tells us The Trial of the Chicago 7 won’t fall into that category and that Netflix will have another awards contender on its hands when it releases on October 16th.

Feds proudly announce seizure of ‘counterfeit Apple AirPods’ that are actually OnePlus Buds

In a truly bizarre situation that I’m still trying to wrap my head around, US Customs and Border Protection tonight tweeted that its officers had “recently seized 2,000 counterfeit Apple AirPods from Hong Kong, valued at $398K had they been genuine.” There’s also a press release: “CBP officers are protecting the American public from various dangers on a daily basis,” said Troy Miller, director of CBP’s New York field operations, in the release. “The interception of these counterfeit earbuds is a direct reflection of the vigilance and commitment to mission success by our CBP Officers daily.” These units originated from Hong Kong and were seized at JFK on August 31st; they were headed to Nevada, according to the press release.

Oracle reportedly wins deal for TikTok’s US operations as ‘trusted tech partner’

Oracle has reportedly won a deal to manage TikTok’s US cloud operations. Oracle had been rumored to be part of the bidding process to acquire TikTok, but The Wall Street Journal reports that the company has been selected as a “trusted tech partner” instead. This is different from an outright sale, and appears to suggest Oracle will be helping run TikTok’s US operations with its own cloud technologies.

News of an Oracle deal comes just an hour after Microsoft revealed it was no longer acquiring TikTok after its bid was rejected by TikTok owner ByteDance. Microsoft had been pursuing a deal to buy TikTok’s operations in the US, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand. It’s clear talks have swayed away from a full acquisition, with Oracle...

The Suicide Squad Star Teases Insane Action Sequence For Harley Quinn

At one stage Harley Quinn was being positioned as one of the DCEU’s marquee characters after Margot Robbie’s performance was praised as one of the very few redeeming features in David Ayer’s Suicide Squad. However, those plans seem to have been put on hold after Birds of Prey bombed at the box office despite the fan favorite taken center stage, although the 30 year-old actress does take top billing in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad.

If the filmmaker’s work on Guardians of the Galaxy is any indication, the focus is going to be spread among the team rather than focusing on one or two major characters, but then again not everyone is going to make it out of the movie alive. The behind the scenes video that premiered at DC FanDome promises a lighter, breezier and altogether more fun outing that Ayer’s grim and somber first installment, as well as raising the bar when it comes to the set pieces.

In a recent interview, Robbie admitted that a huge action scene was one of the most taxing things she’d ever been involved in, but promised that it will turn out to be one of The Suicide Squad‘s standout sequences.

“I don’t want to give it away. When you watch the movie, it’s probably about halfway through. There’s an insane sequence that Harley does which was one of the most difficult things I’ve ever shot onscreen. And we shot it in like four days and I remember looking at the schedule and being like, ‘Oh my god, we’re not going to be able to do this. This is gonna be impossible’. And we did it, but it was hard, and I was beat up by the end of it, like really beat up. But James was actually just texting me before and he said that scene looks amazing. That whole sequence apparently looks really cool, so when you see the movie, you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about.”

David Ayer must be quietly seething that James Gunn has been handed what looks like full creative control on The Suicide Squad, while his effort was plagued and ultimately butchered by studio interference. If that wasn’t enough, the buzz coming out of FanDome has almost completely dampened the talk surrounding the Ayer Cut, as fans are now firmly focused on the fantastic looking soft reboot at the expense of the heavily compromised original as the DCEU’s resurgence continues.
