An R-rated action movie makes huge gains on Disney Plus
Even though the prequel has struggled significantly after finally landing in theaters two years behind schedule last month, Matthew Vaughn remains immensely confident that the Kingsman franchise has more than enough gas left in the tank to not just continue, but thrive.
Taron Egerton’s third outing as Eggsy is tentatively penciled in to begin production towards the end of the year, while Vaughn has been talking up an episodic spinoff that he was convinced to keep working on after watching the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Loki. In a stroke of coincidence, The Secret Service has been taking huge strides up the most-watched list of the very platform Tom Hiddleston’s solo show aired on.

‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ star says he’s having the time of his life
James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy movies have always been wild, crazy, and irreverent in nature, with that infectious sense of fun evident in every frame of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s cosmic series.
The cast and crew can’t speak highly enough of their writer and director, which was proven tenfold when they signed an open letter urging Disney to reconsider its decision to fire him from Vol. 3, with Dave Bautista in particular stating he wouldn’t return as Drax unless Gunn was steering the ship.

A nail-biting war movie treads carefully on streaming
The vast majority of movies focusing on the recent conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan haven’t fared too well at the box office, which might have something to do with audiences showing little interest in revisiting hot-button political events that hit too close to home for some.
After all, it can’t be a coincidence that the best films about Vietnam arrived long after the fact, with Kathryn Bigelow’s The Hurt Locker proving to be a significant modern outlier when it landed in the summer of 2009, even if it didn’t even manage to reach $50 million globally.

Fans hope Michael Keaton’s DC return leads to ‘Batman Beyond’
We’ve been hearing rumors for years that a live-action adaptation of Batman Beyond was in the works at Warner Bros., but it’s never even come close to becoming a reality.
Every so often, we’d hear tales of the project entering active development, with all sorts of names touted to play Terry McGinnis, but we’ve finally reached a stage where the futuristic spin on the Dark Knight appears closer than ever to actually happening, and it’s all thanks to the return of Michael Keaton’s Bruce Wayne.

‘Eternals’ director praises the creative freedom given by Marvel Studios
As a Disney-owned company, one that has Kevin Feige firmly entrenched at the top of the hierarchy as chief creative officer, Marvel Studios is very unlikely to ever give a filmmaker complete and unfettered creative freedom over one of the brand’s blockbuster comic book adaptations.
That doesn’t mean the Marvel Cinematic Universe hasn’t become increasingly collaborative over the years, because it most definitely has, but there’s still a brain trust who need to approve and sign off on all major decisions before a writer or director can put them into practice.

Danny Elfman posts BTS images from ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’
Danny Elfman has a long history of scoring comic book movies. He made his name with the thumping theme to Tim Burton’s Batman, and went on to work on Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, Hulk, and Justice League.
However, his contributions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe have been fairly minimal so far – he co-composed the Avengers: Age of Ultron score with Brian Tyler, and hints of his Spider-Man arrangements were featured in No Way Home.

Miramax promises great vengeance on Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Pulp Fiction’ NFTs
Last year, Quentin Tarantino announced plans to hop on the NFT bandwagon and sell seven “exclusive scenes” from his Pulp Fiction screenplay. The NFTs will be digital copies of his handwritten original scripts with audio commentary, and are planned to go on sale next week.
But Miramax isn’t happy. It claims that Tarantino doesn’t have the rights to the Pulp Fiction script, promising dire consequences for the filmmaker if this sale goes ahead. They’ve already started legal action, but a new ominously-worded letter from Miramax’s lawyer Bart H. Williams to the company running the auction sets out their position:
