The Xbox Series X controller has a tweaked design and a Share button

Microsoft just announced the new Xbox Series X, and along with the console comes a new Xbox Wireless Controller. It doesn’t deviate too far from the existing Xbox One design, but there are a few meaningful tweaks.

Microsoft says the controller’s “size and shape have been refined to accommodate an even wider range of people.” The biggest new feature is a PS4-style dedicated Share button, which should simplify the experience when uploading screenshots and video clips. The D-pad has also been redesigned, moving from a cross shape to a circle style reminiscent of the Elite controller’s.

The new controller will be packaged with Xbox Series X consoles, of course, but it will also be compatible with Windows PCs and the Xbox One.

Godfall is the first game announced for the PlayStation 5

It’ll be out holiday 2020, and will also be released on the Epic Games Store.

Microsoft’s next Xbox is Xbox Series X, coming holiday 2020

Microsoft’s next-generation Xbox is officially called Xbox Series X. Microsoft revealed the name and console design on stage at the Game Awards today. The console itself looks far more like a PC than we’ve seen from previous Xbox consoles, and Microsoft’s trailer provides a brief glimpse at the new design.

The console itself is designed to be used in both vertical and horizontal orientations, and Microsoft’s Xbox chief, Phil Spencer, promises that it will “deliver four times the processing power of Xbox One X in the most quiet and efficient way.”

Microsoft used the Xbox Series X to showcase Hellbade 2, a new game from Ninja Theory that is being developed for its next Xbox console. While Microsoft has revealed the design here, the company...

The Expanse season 4 just arrived on Amazon Prime hours ahead of schedule

For a while there, it seemed like beloved sci-fi show The Expanse might have been coming to an end, when Syfy decided not to renew it for a fourth season. But last May, Amazon stepped in — and right now, you can judge for yourself how well that decision panned out, because the ten-episode fourth season of The Expanse is now available to stream in its entirety on Amazon Prime.

“damn there goes my weekend,” one Verge editor exclaimed in Slack chat, when I mentioned the news. (I’m not free this weekend, so maybe I’ll start today.)

In our review of the first six episodes, we called it “very much the same show,” and said it “feels like the beginning of a grand second act.” So it may start a little slow — though it’ll pick up right where we...

Karen Gillan Reveals A Key Avengers: Endgame Scene Was Improvised

Given how hungry fans were for any and all info on the movie, security on Avengers: Endgame was so tight that the cast was apparently only allowed to read the parts of the script that involved their characters and weren’t allowed to know the full storyline. At least, that goes for most of them.

Furthermore, we also know that in order to keep spoilers at bay, fake scripts were given to most of the actors which hid the real plot developments behind fictitious ones that were never going to be filmed. But of course, a lot of moments in the movie saw the actors go off script and improvise a bit, and Karen Gillan, who plays Nebula, has now revealed one such scene.

While speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, the actress touched on the part at the beginning of the film, where her character is traveling through space with Iron Man. If you’ll recall, at one point we see them playing paper football and it’s this scene which was apparently improvised. When asked who was better at the game, the actress told THR:

“Well, I think it was me because that scene was improvised. And I won.”

She also touched on her portrayal of Nebula in the film and the challenges that came along with it, saying:

“The way we differentiated them was by calling them ‘good Nebula’ and ‘bad Nebula.’ I had a lot of time travel questions coming from a time travel background. The directors [The Russo Brothers] really kept me on track. So, they were all over that, and I just found out whatever I needed to know for each scene. When I finally watched it, I was like, ‘Oh, this makes a lot of sense.’”

As we said above, this wasn’t the only scene in Endgame that was improvised but it’s certainly one we didn’t realize had gone off script until now. But then again, with a film as big as this one is, it’s no wonder we’re still learning new things about it even to this day.

Looking to the future, though, and up next for the MCU is the long-awaited release of Black Widow, before the franchise brings us into the far reaches of space for The Eternals, a galactic epic set to take place over the course of 7,000 years. And you thought Avengers: Endgame played fast and loose with time…
