As 2018 winds down, India end the year as the most successful team across formats over the course of the year. They won 35 of the 53 matches they played in 2018 (and lost just 15). England and Pakistan were joint-second with the same win-loss ratio of 1.93 – both played 46 matches each and won 29 and lost 15.

There was rain, there were thunderstorms, the clouds played hide & seek but in the end all India needed were two good deliveries on the final day and it took them all of 4.3 overs to produce them and wrap up proceedings at Melbourne Cricket Ground to take an unassailable 2-1 lead in the four-match Test series on Sunday.
