T-Mobile’s new CEO tweeted “Bye-bye Tucker Carlson” multiple times this week and said his company will no longer sponsor Carlson’s Fox News show after Carlson made racist comments Monday evening. Sievert’s tone in these tweets appears to be an attempt to emulate the famously-brash tone of John Legere, his predecessor.
In response to multiple angry customers on Twitter, T-Mobile CEO Mike Sievert tweeted that his company wasn’t currently running ads on the show and wouldn’t be moving forward. Here’s one example:
Same. We aren’t running ads on that show and we won’t be running ads on that show in the future. Bye-bye, Tucker Carlson!

Greyhound, an upcoming war drama starring Tom Hanks, had originally been slated for a theatrical release in the spring. For obvious reasons, though, any such release in the current climate proved to be unworkable and as a result, Sony decided to sell the film’s distribution rights to Apple, who today announced they’ll be hosting its premiere on their in-house streaming service Apple TV+ this July 10th. It’s been a long time coming, too, as Greyhound’s pre-pandemic release was to happen on March 22nd.
For those unfamiliar, the film will see Tom Hanks return to the war genre for the first time since Saving Private Ryan more than 20 years ago – which was one one of his most iconic roles. Looking back at that phase of his career, he starred in Forrest Gump, Apollo 13 and Saving Private Ryan all in the space of 4 years. The word legend is over-used daily, but this guy really is one.
Will Greyhound stand up to his best work, though? Honestly, I don’t know. At least we’ll finally be able to find out. Personally, I’m hoping for more Saving Private Ryan than Angels & Demons, but that’s probably placing too great a weight on the film. After all, I wasn’t overly convinced by the CGI in the trailer. Fine, I’ll take my backseat critic’s hat off – no reporter should cast aspersions on a movie that isn’t even out yet. That’d be terribly unfair.
If you’ve got any thoughts of your own on the news that Greyhound is finally arriving (or thoughts on the film in general), drop a comment below. I’m sure you’ve certainly had enough of my thoughts for one day. In any case, be sure to tune into Apple TV+ for your latest Tom Hanks fix next month, recommended as part of a balanced movie diet.
Disney’s playing the role of cartographer as the Star Wars galaxy gets a brand new map. Seen down below, a special point of interest on it is Baatu, the planet which hosts Galaxy’s Edge. It was scanned from the pages of the Traveler’s Guide to Baatu reference book and even comes with a map key for the various regions and a description, which reads:
“As you see, Batuu is in the Western Reaches of the Outer Rim, perched on the edge of the known and the unknown. It is precisely this location that has shaped the planet’s history. Before advanced hyperspace capabilities, Batuu’s position made it a bustling fueling stop for ships heading into Wild Space. With the advances technology and well-charted hyperplanes, most modern travelers choose to bypass Batuu, resulting in the planet becoming a crossroads for adventures and a haven for those who prefer life in the shadows.”
This updated version of the galaxy map is seemingly considered canon, too, which gives fans of the franchise an official look at the lay of the land. This could also help put to rest some of those debates on where certain planets are precisely located.
Some Redditors have pointed out that the hidden Sith planet of Exegol from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is missing. Maybe we can just accept the fact that since a Wayfinder is required to uncover the location of the planet though, it wouldn’t appear on any ubiquitous traveler’s map. But according to Fantha Tracks, it lies somewhere between Ilum and Csilla. Of course, it’s also possible that the rumored Palatine prequel movie might revisit the location to give the planet and its inhabitants their own detailed backstory.
The future of that galaxy far, far away is basically full of blank pages at this point, as the Skywalker saga has now wrapped up. So, we could be flying to any number of strange and undiscovered planets in successive iterations of the franchise. Looking closer to home, though, and we’ve got the in-development Disney Plus Obi-Wan Kenobi show to look forward to along with season 2 of The Mandalorian, a rumored Rey spinoff movie and, most excitingly, Taika Waititi’s untitled Star Wars project.
Ever since he was announced as the new Bruce Wayne, Robert Pattinson has had to field many unwelcome comments about his unsuitability for the role, including his physique. While other actors have variously bulked up or relied on the Batsuit, Pattinson has come in for increased scrutiny, most likely from those who were against his casting in The Batman from the beginning.
However important it may be, it does seem that the actor is at least keeping up his fitness during the lockdown. Some recent paparazzi photos show the Twilight star exercising in London, encouraging some reactions on social media to what appears to be his toned physique.
See for yourself below:
With UK production on Matt Reeves’ The Batman not yet resumed, despite receiving the go-ahead, it seems that Pattinson is now keeping himself busy and in shape, something that’s been difficult for most people during the lockdown. That hasn’t always been the case while the actor was in quarantine, though, with Robert recently revealing some of his more eccentric habits during his time in isolation. Pattinson also admitted last month that he’s not really doing much to prepare for going back to work on The Batman, including a dedicated workout regimen.
To be fair, there’s a difference between exercise and the insane routines that some actors go through before appearing in an action movie, as anyone who’s seen Kumail Nanjiani‘s body for The Eternals can attest. Moreover, Pattinson has been spotted out on runs around London during the lockdown, so it’s likely that his comments about doing nothing are more than a little tongue-in-cheek.
Pattinson’s response to the attention on him for The Batman has been admirable so far, considering the ways he’s used self-deprecating humor and a healthy dose of frustration with the paparazzi and unrealistic fan expectations to describe his experiences with the role to date. Indeed, he’s joked that he could always move into adult films if his time in the superhero spotlight doesn’t pan out, although given his acting chops, it’s difficult to see him not bringing something memorable to The Batman.
We’re never far from a new Batman animated movie being released, and the next one in development has two key features that’ll pique fans’ interests. For one, it’s martial arts-themed, so that should give it a unique flavor. Secondly, Batman: The Animated Series supremo Bruce Timm is working on it.
The GWW is reporting that Warner Bros. Home Entertainment is busy making Batman: Soul of the Dragon. Casting details are currently unknown, but the site has shared an in-depth plot breakdown. Instead of the Dark Knight’s detective smarts or gadgets, this movie will put the focus on his martial arts training, and see him come up against some old foes as he investigates a decades-old mystery.
The Caped Crusader will be thrown together with Bronze Tiger, Lady Shiva and Richard Dragon when they discover they all have something in common: they were trained by the same martial arts master. Said sensei has been missing for years and the reappearance of a cursed relic is what causes the mystery of his disappearance to re-open. Batman and his former classmates will have to face-off to prove they’re the best fighter in order to claim the relic.
The GWW notes that Soul of the Dragon is based off the Richard Dragon: Kung-Fu Fighter comic book series from the 1970s written by Dennis O’Neil. This was where the titular Dragon, Lady Shiva and Bronze Tiger all made their DC debuts. Along with Batman, all three are widely viewed as the best martial artists in the whole wide DC universe. It’s not a foregone conclusion who would win in a battle between them, then. As this is a Bat-movie, though, Bruce’s chances are high.
Warner Bros. has yet to officially confirm this film is on the way, and declined to comment on The GWW’s piece, but all this information certainly sounds legit and with any luck, Batman: Soul of the Dragon will be with us in spring 2021.
The Alien franchise has been around for over 40 years now, and as you would expect from any brand that’s existed for so long, there’s been an awful lot of inconsistency. Nobody can argue that Ridley Scott’s original and James Cameron’s first sequel are all-time classics of the sci-fi genre, but ever since then the big screen adventures of the Xenomorphs have been very hit or miss.
Alien 3 and Resurrection are far from great movies but they still have lot of fans, although most people are in agreement that the Predator crossovers were pretty awful. Scott eventually returned to the fold for the divisive Prometheus, and the prequel did well enough at the box office to warrant a sequel. But the combination of Alien: Covenant disappointing financially and Disney’s takeover of Fox seems to have put any future plans for the franchise on hold.
One abandoned project was Neill Blomkamp’s Alien 5, which would have featured the return of Sigourney Weaver’s Ripley and Michael Biehn’s Hicks and ignored everything that happened after the second movie, but it ultimately fell apart when the studio decided to back Ridley Scott’s vision instead when he showed an interest in directing a new chapter.
However, in a recent interview, Weaver admitted that shortly after Blomkamp’s movie fell by the wayside, longtime franchise producer Walter Hill sent her a 50-page story outline for a new Alien outing that would see the actress reprising her most iconic role. While she admitted that it might not ever happen, she didn’t exactly slam the door shut on a potential return, either.
“I don’t know. Ridley has gone in a different direction. Maybe Ripley has done her bit. She deserves a rest. I’ve always felt like she was such a partner. She is always in my stomach.”
Fans would no doubt be on board with the idea of Ripley heading up another Alien movie, but it looks like ship might have well and truly sailed this time. Not only is Weaver 70 years old and not as willing to put herself through the physical wringer as she once was, but with Disney now in control of the rights, it seems unlikely that the staunchly family-friendly studio would have any interest in ponying up the money required to mount an effects-heavy and R-rated sci-fi.

Volkswagen is delaying the release of certain versions of the all-electric ID 3 because the car’s software isn’t ready, confirming months of reports from German outlets like Sueddeutsche Zeitung and Manager Magazine about the company’s struggle to bring its first mass-produced electric vehicle to market.
People who preordered the “limited edition” version of the electric car will start receiving them as early as next week, according to VW. But customers buying the more widely-available (and more affordable) versions of the ID 3 will have to wait a few months longer. VW will ship some ID 3s in September, but the company’s App Connect infotainment system and the car’s heads-up display won’t be activated until a software update arrives....
