In advance of the start of the big CES tech show this weekend, LG has announced its flagship TV lineup for 2019.

Leading LG’s range this year are its first 8K TVs, the 88-inch Z9 OLED and 75-inch SM99 LCD, which boast four times the resolution of current 4K displays, or sixteen times that of full HD. The entire flagship lineup also natively supports Alexa at launch in addition to Google Assistant, and they’re the first TVs announced with support for the latest HDMI standard, version 2.1, and high frame rate (HFR) for better rendering of sports, documentaries, and action films.

Neutrogena will 3D print custom face masks based on buyers’ skin measurements

Last year at CES, Neutrogena introduced an iPhone accessory — the Skin360 — that scans users’ faces to assess their skin condition and moisture levels. At this year’s show, the company is building off that device to create custom face masks through a new iOS app called MaskiD.

The Skin360 isn’t necessary to use the app, although Neutrogena says it’ll give a more accurate assessment of users’ skin needs. However, the app does rely on the TrueDepth camera in the iPhone X, XS, and XR to take a 3D image of users’ faces, the idea being that every mask is customized to fit each person. The eye slits match up with an individual user’s eyes, for example, as does the mouth opening.

Ron Perlman Throws Shade At New Hellboy Trailer

The upcoming Hellboy reboot was always going to have a tough time filling the void left by actor Ron Perlman and director Guillermo del Toro, and when the film’s first trailer dropped last month, fans by and large were left more skeptical than ever. What’s more, it seems that Perlman himself doesn’t have a whole lot nice to say about this divisive new teaser, with the actor recently taking to Instagram to throw some shade.

The former star of the series has previously gone on record expressing his disappointment that the old team behind 2004’s Hellboy and 2008’s Hellboy II: The Golden Army didn’t get to make a trilogy out of their take on the Dark Horse Comics character. And in a newly shared meme, the actor uses a line from Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy to channel the discomfort of many a fan at seeing another version of Hellboy on our screens.

In the opinion of this writer, Jacob’s Ladder remains one of the most underappreciated and overlooked horror movies ever made. Genre aficionados such as you and I may hold it in high regard, sure, but I’ve found it’s not as well known to your Average Joe.

So, even though Adrian Lyne’s classic from 1990 doesn’t get as much TV play as something from the Friday the 13th or A Nightmare on Elm Street franchises each October, it’s actually a highly influential film. I mean, not only have countless flicks taken visual cues from Jacob’s Ladder, but it also heavily inspired the Silent Hill series of video games. If you require evidence, go back and view the scene showing Tim Robbins’ trip to the hospital. Well, there’s that and various subtle references throughout a few of the games.

Believe it or not, a remake has been gestating in Tinseltown for some time. In fact, it was expected that the retelling directed by David M. Rosenthal hit theaters on February 1st of this year, but according to Dread Central, that’s simply not happening. Bloody Disgusting, meanwhile, isn’t ruling out an opening to be penciled in for later on in 2019, but we can’t be too sure until the studio gives us something concrete.

As much as I love the original, I’m actually not going to view a remake as some sort of blasphemy. Hey, any time a remake, reboot or sequel relating to something I dig sees the light of day, I’m guaranteed to give it a chance at the very least.

After returning home from the Vietnam War, veteran Jacob Singer struggles to maintain his sanity. Plagued by hallucinations and flashbacks, Singer rapidly falls apart as the world and people around him morph and twist into disturbing images. A remake of the 1990 thriller starring Tim Robbins.

Margot Robbie Returns As Harley Quinn In New Promo For The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part

When you think about it, Margot Robbie has become just as synonymous with the character of Harley Quinn as Arleen Sorkin in very short order. While the latter set the standard for the Clown Princess of Crime’s voice on Batman: The Animated Series back in the day, Robbie’s look in the live action Suicide Squad flick remains one of the most frequently seen cosplays at conventions and Halloween parties. Needless to say, the mark has been made.

To my surprise, Margot’s first reprisal of the role will actually come via The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part. At first, I wasn’t so sure it was her voice I was hearing in the new promo found at the top of this article, but I did some checking around and her involvement has indeed been confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter, so there you go.

Depending on whom you may ask, this return is either a positive or a negative. If you dug Suicide Squad, then you have much reason to celebrate. But if you liked what Jenny Slate had to offer in The LEGO Batman Movie, then I imagine you may be somewhat saddened by her not being invited back.

Either way, it does make sense for Harley to be in the mix. After all, not only has the Caped Crusader himself largely factored into the lucrative LEGO film franchise, but the Justice League will also show up in full effect for the highly anticipated sequel.

I guess we’ll see how it all works out when The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part arrives in theaters on February 8th. As for Margot Robbie’s next live action appearance in a DC flick, that’ll come on February 7th, 2020 when Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) storms cinemas.
