Here’s How Chris Evans Could Look As The MCU’s Spider-Man

What if Chris Evans hadn’t played Captain America in the MCU? Well, if he had gotten his way, he’d have ended up playing Peter Parker instead. Although, it’s hard to imagine him playing any role aside from the leader of the Avengers. Either way, we still get to see what the result would have looked like, courtesy of this awesome fan art by Australian digital artist BossLogic (seen below)

In an interview with SCMP, Evans revealed that Spider-Man was his favorite childhood superhero, which explains why the star would have loved to play the role. He also spoke about how he’d have enjoyed performing some of those stunts, saying:

“I would have loved doing scenes like attaching myself to the sides of buildings and trying to spring from one building to the next.”

But he also said there’s one reason he was glad he ended up playing Captain America: the costume. Not only does he find Cap’s costume cooler, but also less likely to make him feel claustrophobic.

“I would have hated to wear Spider-Man’s mask. I’m very claustrophobic, and I doubt whether I could have worn that kind of full suit and mask for hours a day on a set. I much prefer my Captain America outfit, which I think is cooler anyway!”

Evans also faced a conundrum when he agreed to doing the Marvel movies. As an actor who enjoys anonymity, he was worried that he’d be giving up his privacy in exchange for starring in blockbusters. Agreeing to a contract that would have meant playing the same character for 10 years was not an easy decision to make, then, but he obviously has no regrets.

“I was very worried about not being able to walk down the street without being recognized because I like my anonymity. But the greater worry was the commitment to a long-term contract and knowing that for potentially the next 10 years of your life you’re going to be playing the same character. It was not an easy decision, but now I’m very happy with it.”

Of course, it’s going to be hard to fill Evans’ shoes as the next leader of the Avengers, but it seems like Captain America is ready to pass the torch for good, with Sam Wilson now set to take the mantle in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. But tell us, are you still hoping Evans comes back to the MCU at some point, even if just for a cameo, or are you content to move on with new characters? Let us know in the comments section down below.

Ezra Miller’s Flash And Michael Keaton’s Batman Are Already Connected

Earlier today, we got some wild, unexpected news – Michael Keaton is reportedly in talks with Warner Bros. to reprise his role as Bruce Wayne in numerous upcoming DC movies, beginning with The FlashThis would be the first time Keaton has played the Dark Knight since 1992’s Batman Returns and the first major cross-franchise crossover in the DCEU. But it wouldn’t be the first time that Miller’s Flash and Keaton’s Batman have been shown to share continuity.

I’m speaking, of course, about The CW’s mega crossover event “Crisis on Infinite Earths,” which tied together countless DC screen franchises into the same multiverse. The Arrowverse miniseries’ first episode opened with a montage of various Earths being affected by the Anti-Monitor’s Anti-Matter wave. One was Earth-89, where we caught up with Alexander Knox (Robert Wuhl) witnessing the skies above Gotham turning red. That told us this was the Earth of Keaton’s Batman.

In episode four, one of the best surprises of “Crisis” occurred when Grant Gustin’s Flash encountered Miller’s Scarlet Speedster in the Speed Force. We didn’t get an official designation for it, but this confirmed that the DCEU Earth is also part of the same multiverse as all the others, including Earth-89. What’s more, Miller’s Flash is now aware of the existence of the multiverse, which could prove key to his hopping over to other Earths in his own movie.

“Crisis” told us that the Batman was still operating in Gotham in the present day, though fans have noted that the Bat-signal depicted in this scene resembled Terry McGinnis’ Batman symbol. Could Keaton’s cameo in The Flash involve Barry Allen traveling to Earth-89 and encountering a retired Bruce who’s mentoring Terry as his replacement, as in Batman Beyond? Now that we know everything is truly connected, it doesn’t seem that far-fetched.

Rad Power Bikes’ latest model, the RadMission, is its slimmest and cheapest electric bike yet

Rad Power Bikes, one of the top electric bike manufacturers in the US, is out with a new slimmed- and stripped-down city commuter called the RadMission Electric Metro Bike. This bike is no frills, with a single-speed drivetrain, a torquey 500W geared hub motor, and a battery that’s somehow smaller than Rad Power Bikes’ regular packs but just as powerful.

But the real shocker is the price. The Seattle-based company, which is known for its value-based prices, is offering the RadMission at an introductory price of $999 — its cheapest model yet. That’s about $500 less than most of Rad Power Bikes’ lineup. (No word yet on what the regular, non-introductory price will be.)

That will certainly help attract anyone...

Star Wars Reveals The State Of The Galaxy During The High Republic

Lucasfilm has finally given us a glimpse of Star Wars: The High Republic by releasing a chapter of the first book, Charles Soule’s Light of the Jedi.

Set 200 years before the Skywalker Saga, the team behind the new publishing initiative has described this era as the galaxy’s golden age, with the Jedi Order at the height of their power and the Galactic Senate maintaining peace and justice across the Core Worlds and beyond. The newly released chapter, meanwhile, teases that it’s not all going to be fun and games and the next big disaster is coming for the heroes of the High Republic. It doesn’t give away too much of the plot, mind you, but there are still some interesting details that give us an idea about what this period will roughly look like.

For one thing, even the chapter’s “opening crawl” confirms what we’ve been told so far; the galaxy is truly at peace. Chancellor Lina Soh, who leads the Republic from its seat in Coruscant, has launched a new initiative to colonize the Outer Rim. This is where the Jedi Knights come in. Since those regions are full of predators and dangerous phenomena, the Chancellor requests that the Order establish outposts across the unknown worlds. The Senate also tasks the force-sensitive warriors to aid everyone in need. It’s also safe to presume that the Jedi will use the Force to navigate the uncharted hyperspace lanes of the Outer Rim, a technique interestingly known as Skywalking.

It also stands to reason that we’ve already seen one of these Jedi outposts in Soule’s The Rise of Kylo Ren series when Luke and Ben noted about checking out that it’s been there for many centuries.

Star Wars: The High Republic seems to depict the Jedi Knights as gunslingers in their version of the galaxy’s Wild West, where these warriors of peace will supposedly take down bad guys and bring wrongdoers to justice. And we can’t wait to get into the story when it arrives early on in 2021.

Avengers: Endgame Theory Says Captain America Might Be Immortal Now

Steve Rogers saved the world on multiple occasions, sacrificed his happiness and lost damn near everyone he loved. As such, it was difficult to begrudge his decision at the end of Avengers: Endgame to use the trip to return the Infinity Stones as an opportunity to travel back in time and live in domestic bliss with Peggy Carter, the love of his life. After taking the long way round to get back to the present, Rogers was an elderly man. Still, for someone chronologically pushing a hundred-years-old, he was in relatively good shape due to long-term effects of the super-soldier serum.

But now fans are theorizing that it wasn’t just the serum that preserved him and that Rogers might be functionally immortal. Not just that, but there’s a chance that he could regain his youth.

Now, I’ve got to say that Rogers certainly didn’t look immortal in the finale of Endgame, so where’s this theory coming from? Well, some of it is based on Steve being worthy enough to wield Mjolnir when battling Thanos and that continuing to grant him power. This theory is based in the one-shot comic book 2099: Manifest Destiny. Here, Rogers is frozen once more, waking up in the year 2099 and meeting Miguel O’Hara (aka Spider-Man 2099). Thor’s absent in this time, so Cap takes Mjolnir, which is shown to give whoever wields it eternal life. Perhaps those powers remain with him even after he’s not physically wielding the hammer?

Another way Rogers could remain alive is if the MCU introduces “The Apples of Idunn,” which help keep the Asgardian characters from ageing. Though honestly, them being present in the MCU seems unlikely given that Odin was obviously ageing significantly by the time he died in Thor: Ragnarok.

But could all this lay the seeds for Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers to make a triumphant return one day? Possibly, but Evans has repeatedly said that he’s done with the character, that he’s happy he got such a great ending and it’d feel like a cash-in to bring him back. Heroes like Iron Man and Captain America forever returning is a great way to kill all tension in your fictional universe, so I hope Marvel Studios honors the dramatic impact of Avengers: Endgame and if they do return, it should only be via small cameo appearances here and there.
