‘The Matrix Resurrections’ always featured a new Morpheus
Hugo Weaving revealed a while back that he was approached about reprising the role of Smith in The Matrix Resurrections, and with the movie now out there for all the world to see, anyone that’s plugged themselves back in will know that would’ve created an entirely new and even more self-aware dynamic to drive the first act.
Unfortunately, scheduling conflicts wound up getting the way to pour cold water on that particular notion, but it wouldn’t be unreasonable to think that perhaps Laurence Fishburne found himself in the same boat. Then again, the O.G. Morpheus admitted the reason he wasn’t part of Resurrections was because nobody asked him, and it turns out that a new bearer of tiny sunglasses was always on the cards.

‘The Lord of the Rings’ star reveals bizarre encounter with plot hole obsessed fan

Some people care very deeply about this sort of thing, occasionally to a scary degree. Now Sean Astin – who played the loveable Samwise Gamgee – has recalled one bizarre encounter in an interview with ScreenRant. The anecdote came as he discussed the instant stardom the cast experience in the wake of the films’ release:

MCU theory says the Captain America name is now tainted
One of Hawkeye‘s big highlights was Rogers: The Musical. It makes a ridiculous amount of sense that Broadway would attempt a toe-tappin’ adaptation of Steve Rogers’ life and the show brought Captain America to the stage in style – so much so that the full unedited clip was eventually presented to viewers as a ‘Christmas Present’ mid-credits scene after the finale.
But MCU fans have been wondering why it’s titled ‘Rogers: The Musical’ and not ‘Captain America: The Musical’ – as well as why the shield-wielding Statue of Liberty makes no reference to “Captain America”.
