Tesla the aesthetic is still very much in the Blade Runner motif that Musk touted in the runup to the event. We’ll have more details about the ATV as we get them from Tesla, so stay tuned.

Tesla Cybertruck will get up to 500 miles of range and start at $39,900

Tesla CEO Elon Musk just unveiled the company’s first electric pickup truck, also known as Cybertruck, at an event in Los Angeles, California. The truck will come in three versions with 250 miles, 300 miles, and 500 miles of range, respectively. And it will start at $39,900, Musk said. Preorders can be made at tesla.com/cybertruck.

Musk has spent the better part of a decade poking at the idea of a Tesla pickup truck. He tweeted in 2012 that he “[w]ould love to make a Tesla supertruck” with “crazy torque” and “dynamic air suspension.” By 2013, he told Business Insider that the company was actually planning to make one. The pickup was even featured in his second “master plan” for Tesla, which he published in 2016.

Valve is bringing its Index VR headset to more countries

Photo by Amelia Holowaty Krales / The Verge

Right after announcing Half-Life: Alyx, already one of the most anticipated VR games of all time, Valve has confirmed plans to bring its Index headset and controllers to other countries, starting with Canada and Japan today. The $999 Index is already available in the US and Europe.

Half-Life: Alyx won’t require a Valve Index, but the company’s own VR headset is likely to provide the most high-end experience available. It’s also unclear to what degree the game might be optimized for Valve’s Index controllers, which offer better individual finger sensing than most competitors.

Half-Life: Alyx will be a free download for all Index owners, while people who buy the headset before the end of the year will get access to in-game cosmetic items...

Two days after launch, Google Stadia founders finally have their access codes

Google just tweeted that it has finally delivered access codes to everyone who purchased the $130 Stadia Founder’s Edition — some of whom were sitting around with useless Stadia gamepads, waiting for the ability to actually be a “Founder”, until today.

Sherlock Holmes 3’s Main Villain Has Been Revealed

After years of waiting, Sherlock Holmes 3 is finally on its way. The last time Robert Downey Jr. played the Great Detective, with Jude Law at his side as Doctor Watson, was way back in 2011. Unfortunately, since then he’s been busy portraying some kind of superhero, so it’s taken until now for a third film to emerge. Production is due to start early next year though and, ahead of that, one major story detail has been revealed.

It’s already been reported that Sherlock Holmes 3 will take Holmes and Watson to the Wild West and now the villain they’ll face in the States has been identified. We Got This Covered has heard from our sources – the same ones who said Bill Murray would return for Ghostbusters 3 and that Ewan McGregor was coming back as Obi-Wan, both of which turned out to be true – that the antagonist will go by the name of Senator Cornelius Guest. Described as an affluent man of industry, he’s a self-made American who keeps a bowie knife in a holster at his waist. And apparently, his big plan involves stealing the nation’s gold.

It’s important to note that Guest could be a codename for the character being used during production, so he could end up going by a familiar moniker taken from the original stories in the end. Though he might also not, considering that the 2009 movie had an original villain in the form of Mark Strong’s Lord Blackwood. Right now, we can’t say for sure what he’ll be called, only that the description of the character above is what you can expect from him.

Details beyond that remain scarce, but we know that Guy Ritchie, who helmed both 2009’s Sherlock Holmes and 2011’s Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, won’t be returning alongside his leading men for this outing. Instead, Rocketman‘s Dexter Fletcher is taking over directing duties, and he’s previously assured fans that while he’ll put his own stamp on the franchise, he’ll still be honoring what Ritchie did with the earlier films.

Sherlock Holmes 3 is currently locked in for release on December 22nd, 2021. Seeing as this was recently assigned to Black Adam, though, we’d expect a change to the schedules to be announced soon.

Avengers: Endgame Concept Art Reveals Alternate Designs For Rescue Armor

Up until its release, Disney and Marvel Studios did a good job in keeping Avengers: Endgame spoilers under wraps. We knew a few things about the movie, like that Hawkeye would be taking on a more violent Ronin persona and that time travel would play a major part in the plot, but how things were actually going to go down remained a secret right up until premiere night. One thing we were sure of early on though was that Gwyneth Paltrow’s Pepper Potts would finally be suiting up as Rescue.

That’s because Paltrow posted an image of her relaxing after the shoot in which she was wearing the exact type of mocap suit that Robert Downey Jr. wears in the armor. Soon after posting this it was taken down, with Paltrow presumably having received a call from Marvel Studios higher-ups telling her to knock it off. But the cat was well and truly out of the bag, so nobody was particularly surprised when she appeared in full armor for the final battle.

Now, courtesy of some newly released concept art, we’ve got some alternate takes on how Rescue might have appeared. See for yourself down below:

I really like some of the more extreme designs for the armor. After all, Stark is extremely protective of Potts and would no doubt want to engineer the best armor he could for her. This means it makes a good deal of sense that he’d create something practically invulnerable and bristling with weapons.

Still, while they’re cool ideas, I really like the slimline, minimalist design we ended up with in the movie. Sure, it doesn’t really make much sense to have a woman’s suit of armor be so feminine, but seeing Rescue and Iron Man together firing off repulsor beams in perfect synchronization with each other made for one of the coolest moments of the final battle.

Sadly, I doubt we’ll be seeing Rescue again anytime soon, but at least Potts got to fully suit up and kick ass in style in Avengers: Endgame.
