‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ star recalls disastrous James Bond audition
James Cameron clearly sees something others don’t in Sam Worthington. After Avatar became the highest-grossing movie of all time he went on to appear in a bunch of middling action movies, though he’s back on top after returning to Pandora in the smash-hit Avatar: The Way of Water.
Worthington will reprise the role in the three upcoming Avatar movies, with Jake Sully clearly determined to bring the fight to the human invaders and lead the Na’vi to victory. But, if a mid-2000s audition had gone better, he could have had a very different career. In an interview on the Fitzy & Whippa podcast, Worthington explains that he auditioned to play James Bond in Casino Royale, though it didn’t exactly go to plan:

‘Saw’ takes a shot at ‘Scream’ as the slasher civil war starts to heat up
We all knew M3GAN was a born trendsetter, with horror’s new queen bee having an uncontested claim to the throne of memes. With respect to this, and the fact that imitation is the highest form of flattery, some have tried to emulate her roasting ability, which has most famously claimed the egos of fellow killer dolls Chucky and Annabelle.
Stylizing himself as an alpha slasher, as it were, the Saw franchise’s official Twitter account has taken to starting beef of its own, eventually deciding to pick out the Scream franchise as its first trash talk target; a bold move, given the weight of the latter’s history.

‘Avatar’ theory offers reasonable evidence it isn’t just ripping off ‘The Last Airbender’
There’s no shortage of internet beef between fans of Nickelodeon’s critically acclaimed animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender and the similarly named Avatar franchise born out of the mind of James Cameron. To this day, the word “Avatar” has the power to drum up momentary confusion without fail.
Despite being the first one to trademark the Avatar name, Cameron didn’t put his first entry out until 2009; nearly five years after the debut of The Last Airbender. On top of that, with the recent release of The Way of Water and Cameron’s comments that an evil, fire-based Na’vi would be appearing in Avatar 3, some have begun to wonder if the storied filmmaker is borrowing a bit too much from the sci-fi saga’s namesake.

James Gunn reacts to Jason Momoa stirring up a frenzy of DCU speculation
If there’s one thing that James Gunn won’t be able to exert control over during his tenure as the co-CEO of DC Studios, it’s the unstoppable force of nature that is Jason Momoa.
The actor has earned the right to be named as one of the franchise’s pillars, which comes with the territory when you’re the star of the single highest-grossing DC Comics adaptation of all-time, but that doesn’t mean Arthur Curry’s long-term future is secured. In fact, rumors exploded out of the woodwork claiming that Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom would mark the end of the road for the Game of Thrones alum, with the fascinating caveat that he could end up being recast as Lobo instead.

A fan favorite reboot that misleadingly failed to live up to its own title finds sanctuary on 5 rival streaming services
Warner Bros. is probably breathing a sigh of relief right about now that Mortal Kombat was released into theaters and HBO Max before a legal precedent was set that fans could sue over misleading trailers, a landmark ruling that’s destined to cause a fair share of pickles in studio marketing departments across Hollywood.
As much as longtime enthusiasts of the source material approved of Simon McQuoid’s reboot of the classic video game franchise – with an 86 percent user rating on Rotten Tomatoes comfortably dwarfing a middling 54 percent critical score – it wasn’t lost on a huge number of people that Mortal Kombat came and went without even a sniff of the titular tournament.
