James Gunn Reacts To Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 Stars Crying At The Script
Karen Gillan recently revealed that she and co-star Pom Klementieff were left in floods of tears after reading the script for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, the third installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s franchise that’s become our premiere source of intergalactic irreverence.
James Gunn’s filmography is known for its bursts of graphic violence and reliance on humor derived from the most ridiculous of situations, but he’s always been known to tug on the heartstrings when the occasion calls for it. Found family is one of the major recurring themes throughout his career, and that perfectly encapsulates the bond between Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, Groot, and latterly Nebula and Mantis.
After catching wind of their emotional response, Gunn took to social media to gently rib Gillan and Klementieff for their reactions to discovering what Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has in store for their characters.
We’ve already been promised major deaths, and with Gunn bowing out from behind the camera once he wraps the movie, you can bet he’s going to throw everything plus the kitchen sink at Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 to ensure he signs off with a bang.
Fans are already pondering who could end up meeting their demise, and it’s clearly had an effect on two members of the cast long before the start of production, but at least filming a Holiday Special during the shoot should generate a little levity to combat the tears.

Chloé Zhao Explains Why The Eternals Didn’t Fight Thanos
When the first trailer for the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Eternals dropped, fans were shocked that the all-powerful race of cosmic beings simply sat back and let Thanos wipe out half of all living creatures in the universe with a single snap of his fingers, blasting the team’s inactivity from almost the second the promo ended.
Chloé Zhao’s blockbuster didn’t even start filming until Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame had wrapped production, which is the obvious reason why they remained on the sidelines, but that simply won’t do for a fanbase that’s become accustomed to having even the smallest of moments paid off years down the line.
Luckily, it’s long since been confirmed that Eternals will address why the titular heroes allowed the Mad Titan to carry out his ambitious plan to restore his own twisted version of balance to the entirety of existence, and in a new interview with Total Film magazine, two-time Academy Award winner Zhao explained that we’ll find out their reasons when the movie arrives on November 5th.
“The audience will understand why. Not only why, but how complicated not interfering made them feel. We explore that. You’ll see that in the film. The Eternals were instructed not to interfere with any human conflict unless Deviants are involved. There’s a reason why that’s the case.”
The full-length trailer offered much more detail on why they’ve decided to remain in the shadows, and Eternals is set to fold itself neatly into the wider MCU mythology by tying the core cast to a series of major events throughout history, not just ones involving the Avengers. It’s an ambitious way to airdrop a new property into the franchise, but Zhao is more than capable of pulling it off with aplomb.

Fans Are Debating The Biggest Cheer They’ve Ever Heard In A Movie Theater
It’s definitely convenient to have the latest major releases available day-and-date from the comfort of your own home at the push of a button, something viewers are growing more and more accustomed to in the age of streaming, especially during the pandemic era.
However, there’s nothing quite like the communal experience of the theater, which remains the best way to enjoy a movie. Whether it’s jump scares causing popcorn to fly everywhere, shocking plot twists sending gasps around the auditorium or a surprise death yielding hushed whispers and audible reactions, it’s much better than sitting in your living room alone. Unless you’ve got some asshole with their cellphone screen on full brightness in front of you, but that’s another discussion for another time.
#MovieCheers has been trending on social media as fans debate the best and loudest response they’ve ever heard in a multiplex, and as you can see from the reactions below, plenty of iconic contenders have been thrown into the mix.
Avengers: Endgame delivered multiple moments worthy of applause, such is the investment the Marvel Cinematic Universe has cultivated from its audience over the last thirteen years, but that was only the tip of the iceberg. Regardless of what you think merits the distinction of being named the best big screen moment ever to witness in a packed house, let’s hope that it becomes a regular occurrence once more, and sooner rather than later.
