Marvel Studios And Kevin Feige Pay Tribute To Chadwick Boseman
As you’ve surely heard by now, actor Chadwick Boseman tragically passed away earlier tonight at the age of 43. His family confirmed the heartbreaking news just hours ago, revealing that he had been battling colon cancer for several years. Given that he never made his diagnosis public, and continued to work steadily almost right up until his death, it came as a huge shock to everyone to learn that he had passed, and the internet is currently mourning the tremendous loss.
Already, tons of colleagues and notable figures in the industry have paid tribute to the incredibly talented actor and now, both Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige have weighed in with some thoughts of their own – which you can see for yourself via the tweets down below.
Our hearts are broken and our thoughts are with Chadwick Boseman’s family. Your legacy will live on forever. Rest In Peace. pic.twitter.com/DyibBLoBxz

While it might have been Marvel – and the MCU – that made Chadwick Boseman a household name and rocketed him to the top of the Hollywood A-list, the actor was much more than just our Black Panther. Indeed, he had a very accomplished career, spanning a whole host of different roles. And if you want a taste of his talents, just check out movies like 42, Da 5 Bloods or Get On Up.
No matter what project Boseman found himself in, though, he always delivered solid work and had a very bright future ahead of him, with numerous projects lined up. Including, of course, Black Panther 2. Which only makes this news all the more tragic and devastating, as he had so much more to bring us.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Chadwick Boseman‘s family and friends at this difficult time, and he will be dearly missed.

Chadwick Boseman’s Family Issues Statement On His Death
Earlier tonight, we received some absolutely heartbreaking news. Chadwick Boseman has passed away after a four year battle with colon cancer at the age of 43.
Obviously, this came as a shock to everyone, as the actor kept his diagnosis a secret and away from the public, with not many people knowing about it aside from those closest to him. The story is still developing and details continue to roll in, but Boseman’s family has now issued an official statement on his passing on Twitter, and you can check it out below along with the photo that was shared of him.
Of course, Chadwick Boseman was more than just the MCU’s Black Panther. He was a tremendous actor who gave a whole host of terrific performances and arguably, his career had just really begun to take off in the past 5 years or so following excellent work in films like 42 and Get On Up, which led to his Marvel role.
Speaking of which, a lot of people have already begun asking what the studio is going to do with Black Panther 2 now, considering that it’s currently in pre-production and was set to see Boseman return as the titular hero. Obviously, there’s no word yet on how they’ll handle the character moving forward, but given how beloved the actor was in the role, it’s certainly a tricky position that Marvel now find themselves in.
No matter what they decide to do, Boseman will always be remembered fondly not only by Marvel Cinematic Universe fans, but by the entire industry and moviegoers in general as he always delivered exceptional performances no matter what he was in and still had so much more to bring us in his career.
RIP Chadwick Boseman, you will be missed.

Black Panther Star Chadwick Boseman Dead At 43 Of Colon Cancer
We have some extremely tragic news to report on tonight, as actor Chadwick Boseman has passed away at age 43 after a battle with colon cancer.
The actor, perhaps best known for his role as Black Panther in the MCU, died at his home with his wife and family at his side. His passing was confirmed on his Instagram account earlier tonight, with the following caption:
It is with immeasurable grief that we confirm the passing of Chadwick Boseman. Chadwick was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016, and battled with it these last 4 years as it progressed to stage IV. A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much.
From Marshall to Da 5 Bloods, August Wilson’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and several more, all were filmed during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy. It was the honor of his career to bring King T’Challa to life in Black Panther. He died in his home, with his wife and family by his side. The family thanks you for your love and prayers, and asks that you continue to respect their privacy during this difficult time.
Further details are still rolling in and right now, we don’t know a whole lot more than what’s been shared in the caption up above. But this heartbreaking news and comes as a complete shock.
Of course, Boseman led an extremely successful career beyond just his work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While that’s what many probably know him from, he also did excellent work as Jackie Robinson in 42, James Brown in Get On Up, Thurgood Marshall in Marshall and most recently, he starred in hit Netflix film Da 5 Bloods. He also had a number of projects in the works as well, Black Panther 2 being amongst them.

Scream 5 Delayed By Paramount, New Release Date Announced
A lot of horror franchises spawn so many sequels, remakes and reboots that a revolving door of cast and crew members is often needed, but Scream has been a bit of an outlier when it comes to this in that the four installments so far have more or less retained the same key players right from the start.
Horror legend Wes Craven directed stars Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox and David Arquette in four different films, with original writer Kevin Williamson on board to pen each and every entry with the exception of the third one. But even then, he was involved as a producer. And though Craven is now sadly no longer with us, the upcoming Scream 5 will still keep part of the original team in tact.
Directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett are behind the camera, with Ready or Not co-writer Gary Busick set to deliver the screenplay alongside Zodiac‘s James Vanderbilt, while Williamson has nabbed a producing credit. Arquette and Cox, meanwhile, are signed on, too, and Campbell is widely expected to return as well – though her involvement has yet to be officially announced.
So, things seem to be progressing well for Scream 5, then. Or at least, they were until tonight, as it’s now been hit with a delay.
Deadline reports that Paramount have shuffled a whole bunch of their films due to – you guessed it – COVID-19 and among the many titles to be moved around is the next installment in the legendary horror franchise. Originally due to be with us at some point in 2021, it’s now set to reach theaters on January 14th, 2022.
Frankly, it’s not the worst news in the world and given what we’ve seen with some other upcoming movies, the delay could’ve been much worse. Besides, we never got an exact date in 2021 for when it was set to land, so for all we know it could’ve been late in the year and thus, this move to January isn’t that big a deal.
In any case, you’ll now have to wait until 2022 to witness the return of Ghostface in Scream 5. But something tells us the wait will be worth it.

Netflix Reportedly Thinking About Buying Paramount To Get Their Own MCU
Netflix have been pretty transparent in admitting that they want an in-house marquee franchise of their own that can rival the likes of Harry Potter, Star Wars and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While that seems hugely ambitious for a company that operates exclusively in streaming, history has shown that anything Netflix wants, they usually get.
Their first attempt at a big budget blockbuster didn’t go too great, though, with Will Smith and David Ayer’s Bright gaining big viewership numbers but quickly becoming forgotten about and the sequel remaining stuck in development hell. However, a recent series of hits has seen 6 Underground, Extraction, Spenser Confidential, The Old Guard and Project Power show potential for launching a multi-film series, while they’re also set to produce a sequel to Charlize Theron’s underrated actioner Atomic Blonde and hand the Russo brothers $200 million to direct Chris Evans and Ryan Gosling in espionage thriller The Gray Man.
Even though Netflix could end up with a handful of franchises at their disposal, we’re now hearing from our sources – the same ones who told us the streaming giant were working on an Extraction sequel and a prequel series to The Witcher before either was confirmed – that they’re also said to be interested in purchasing a rival studio in order to get their hands on a comic book universe.
As we know, Paramount currently own the rights to Valiant’s roster of heroes, who got off to a pretty inauspicious start when Vin Diesel’s Bloodshot bombed at the box office. This isn’t enough to deter Netflix, though, who think that they’re more than capable of doing the characters justice in a string of movies that they believe could eventually rival the MCU. And as such, they’ve reportedly had talks about buying the studio outright.
Paramount have been valued at around $4 billion in the past, which is less than 25% of the amount that Netflix are spending on original content this year alone, so it isn’t like they can’t afford it. That being said, buying an entire studio still seems a little excessive when there are so many comic book properties out there. Not to mention that Paramount are also a little short on lucrative franchises themselves outside of Transformers and Mission: Impossible.
Of course, this is far from a sure thing and again, there’s only been internal talks about it, from what we’re told. But it’d certainly be interesting to see happen and should we learn anything more about it, we’ll let you know.

New Flash Theory Suggests Ben Affleck’s Batman Will Die
Earlier this month, we learned the news that Ben Affleck is not done with the DCEU yet and he’s set to don the cape and cowl once more in The Flash movie. That means there will be two different Dark Knights in the Scarlet Speedster’s solo outing, along with Michael Keaton. Unlike Keaton, though, who’s believed to have signed up for multiple more appearances, reports say there are no current plans for Affleck to come back again after this.
So, does this mean we can infer that The Flash will see the DCEU’s original Bruce Wayne meet his end? That’s what this theory suggested by ScreenRant ponders. Obviously, we have no idea how this could actually come about in the film itself, but SR points out that there are so many benefits to killing off Batfleck – from Warner Bros.’ point of view, of course, not for the many fans out there who’d love to see him stick around.
First of all, with so many Batmen running around, killing off Affleck’s version would make it clear to audiences that the main Batman is Robert Pattinson going forward. The death of Bruce could also be a key event in the Flash’s hero’s journey, as director Andy Muschietti has said that the pair will bond in his movie over the shared loss of their mothers. We know Barry Allen looks up to the billionaire from Justice League and if their mentor-student relationship is strengthened in The Flash, Bruce’s death could have a huge impact on the younger hero, similar to Marvel’s Iron Man/Spider-Man dynamic.
What’s more, having Batfleck meet his end would be a perfect way to wrap up his arc across the DCEU, rather than have him just stop showing up in the franchise. Zack Snyder has said before that he planned to kill off Batman in one of his Justice League sequels, as a way to conclude his story that began in Batman V Superman, so Muschietti would only be realizing something the creator of this version of the character originally planned.
Tell us, though, should Ben Affleck’s Batman die in The Flash? Have your say in the comments section.

Crazy New Horror Movie Has Netflix Users Freaking Out
As cinemas continue to struggle due to COVID-19, Netflix has become the main way for many people to watch movies this year. This has been a big win for smaller titles, in particular, as social media impact and word-of-mouth is leading to some of these projects getting a lot more exposure than they normally would have, and the latest buzzy pic is David Marmor’s awesome horror movie 1BR.
For those unfamiliar, the film follows a young woman named Sarah who moves into a Los Angeles apartment complex, only to find that the residents living there aren’t quite what they appear to be. As the plot synopsis outlines:
Unable to sleep, tormented by strange noises and threatening notes, her new life quickly starts to unravel. By the time she learns the horrifying truth, it’s too late. Caught in a waking nightmare, Sarah must find the strength to hold onto her crumbling sanity… or be trapped forever in an existential hell.
Unfortunately, 1BR didn’t catch too many eyes when it had its digital premiere back in April, despite solid reviews, but now that it’s on Netflix, it’s seriously picked up some steam. At first, it was just squeaking onto the platform’s Top 10 most-watched movies list. And then it began staying there consistently before it peaked today at #1.
Yes, as of today, 1BR is the most-watched film on Netflix – in the US, at least – and as you can see below, tons of people are freaking out over it on Twitter.

And there are a lot more reactions where those came from. Indeed, Netflix users are buzzing about 1BR and with a Rotten Tomatoes score of 87%, it’s not hard to see why so many people are enjoying it. It might not be for everyone, but if you can handle the subject material, you’d be wise to check it out.
With any luck, its unexpected success on Netflix will lead to bigger things for the cast and crew in the future, as they all did an excellent job with the film and it’s nice to see it finally getting some recognition after it slipped under the radar earlier this year.
