The 7th (and best-reviewed) entry in a classic horror series wins new converts on Netflix
Arguably more so than any other genre, horror has always been plagued by the law of diminishing returns, with the desire to capitalize on a hot property often yielding a barrage of subpar sequels that arrive on an almost annual basis.
And yet, the seventh installment in the long-running Child’s Play franchise wound up landing the best reviews of the bunch, even if longtime aficionados will debate whether or not Cult of Chucky is the best the series has to offer.

Marvel and DC fans are already pitting Namor against Aquaman
Marvel has been doing a stellar job of keeping Black Panther: Wakanda Forever under wraps, with a little over four months to go until the hotly-anticipated sequel comes to theaters, but yesterday saw a deluge of leaked promo art makes its way online, with two images in particular generating a ton of hype, buzz, and interest.
Shortly after prospective villain Attuma was revealed in all of his Atlantean glory, a mock-up showing Tenoch Huerta’s Namor the Sub-Mariner arrived. Needless to say, the MCU faithful went into instant raptures upon seeing the fan favorite finally brought to life (and looking suitably badass in the process), but it didn’t take too long for the whole thing to devolve into Marvel vs. DC tribalism.

Chris Pratt calls ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ a ‘true masterpiece’
Everyone involved in any project is going to call it the greatest thing they’ve ever been a part of, because it would defeat the purpose if they didn’t, but that doesn’t mean Chris Pratt’s comments on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 should be dismissed as nothing but hyperbole.
After all, the actor knows what makes a crowd-pleasing blockbuster a success given that the first two installments combined to earn well in excess of $1.5 billion at the box office, with the Parks and Rec alum also holding the impressive distinction of having played a major role in four of the 16 highest-grossing movies ever made.

A monotonously mundane medieval epic impales the Netflix Top 10
Keanu Reeves’ infamous 47 Ronin is regarded as one of the worst blockbusters of the last decade, not to mention an all-timer of a box office bomb, so expectations were suitably low when it was first revealed that the Japanese tale was being loosely adapted again shortly afterwards. On the plus side, 2015’s Last Knights at least lived up to those low standards by being terrible.
A 16 percent Rotten Tomatoes score was a dire return for a sword-swinging historical adventure that boasted some decent talent in the form of Academy Award winner Morgan Freeman, alongside Oscar nominee Shohreh Aghdashloo and Golden Globe winner Clive Owen, but director Kazuaki Kiriya’s feature was a dull, drab, and dreary slog through ancient history was a waste of everyone’s time.
