The Batman Gets Hit With 5-Month Delay
Batman is definitely among the most frequently adapted fictional characters in history, with the hero’s back catalogue including everything from a kitsch 1960s TV show to dark and gritty movies and, of course, the neon and nipples of the Joel Schumacher era. But filmmakers continue to find fresh and exciting ways to approach the Caped Crusader and it looks like The Batman, coming to us from director Matt Reeves and star Robert Pattinson, will continue that trend. Unfortunately, however, it’s going to be a long time before we see what they’ve put together.
Yes, in what marks another big setback for the film, Warner Bros. has now delayed it an additional 5 months. Originally set to be with us on October 1st, 2021, the blockbuster now won’t arrive until March 4th, 2022. No reason was given for the shift in release date, but you can imagine it has something to do with Pattinson testing positive for COVID-19 along with everything else going on in the industry right now.
The bad news doesn’t end there, though, as a number of other DC pics have been pushed back as well. As Deadline notes, Andy Muschietti’s The Flash is now set for November 4th, 2022 instead of June 3rd, 2022, while Shazam! 2 will be with us on June 2nd, 2023 rather than November 4th, 2022. And as for Black Adam, well, it’s been temporarily undated, meaning we don’t know when it’ll premiere. Though it’ll certainly be a long ways off at this point.
Clearly, this is a big blow for the DCEU and isn’t what fans want to hear. And with the way things are continuing to unfold in the world in regards to COVID-19 and the entertainment industry in particular, these might not even be the last time these films get delayed.

The Batman is delayed until 2022, but The Matrix 4 is now coming next year
Today’s announcement of a Dune delay meant that Warner Bros. would have to shuffle its schedule, and now we have new dates for the studio’s biggest upcoming movies. Deadline and Variety report that The Batman is getting delayed yet again, moving from the October 1st, 2021 date now occupied by Dune to March 4th, 2022.
That March 4th slot was intended to be for the as-yet unrevealed Minecraft: The Movie, which is now without a release date. Black Adam, the DC Comics movie starring Dwayne Johnson, has also been taken off the schedule after previously being set for December 22nd 2021.
Filling that slot is a movie that will actually now come sooner than expected: Lana Wachowski’s Matrix sequel. The Matrix 4 was originally planned for release...

John McAfee has been arrested in Spain and is facing extradition
John McAfee, who built a fortune selling cybersecurity software and has in recent years become a cryptocurrency evangelist, has been indicted on charges of tax evasion by the Department of Justice (DOJ). He has been arrested in Spain and is awaiting extradition, the DOJ said.
McAfee has had a contentious association with the law for years, though it’s at times unclear which run-ins are real and what has been fabricated. A former 2020 US Presidential candidate for the Libertarian Party (yes, really), he claimed that the campaign was “in exile” after he was charged with “using Crypto Cuttencies [sic] in criminal acts against the U. S. Government” in January 2019. In that same video, he said he hasn’t paid taxes in eight years. (That will...

Apple quietly stops selling Bose, Sonos and some Logitech gear — only Apple audio remains
Apple just made its rivals disappear — in its own retail store, anyhow. As Bloomberg reports, the company has abruptly stopped selling Bose, Logitech, and Sonos audio products, including the popular Bose noise-canceling headphones that would almost certainly be a direct competitor to the headphones that Apple has repeatedly been rumored to be ready to announce sometime this year.
When you go to find a product like the Logtech Ultimate Ears Megaboom speaker or those Bose headphones, you’ll find messages like these instead:
But Google’s cache shows these products were on sale as late as mid-September, if not more recently. Here’s a couple examples from September 15th:

Here’s How John Krasinski Could Look As The MCU’s Alternate Captain America
John Krasinski might be one of the most exciting young filmmakers in the industry after blowing both critics and audiences away with his breakthrough directorial effort A Quiet Place, which was one of the biggest sleeper hits of 2018 after earning over $340 million at the box office, but he’s still best known for playing Jim Halpert in The Office.
Since the beloved sitcom wrapped up in 2013, Krasinski has been busy expanding his horizons, and can currently be found playing the title character and executive producing Amazon’s Jack Ryan, a show beloved by dads all over the world. Not only that, but he’s built up a solid filmography covering a range of genres that’s seen him take top billing in Michael Bay’s 13 Hours, lend support in Kathryn Bigelow’s Detroit and of course co-write, direct and star in A Quiet Place and and the delayed sequel.
However, he’s still searching for that major movie role that will finally see him shake off his career-defining association with Jim, and if the fans get their way then it could happen pretty soon. The 40 year-old has been constantly linked with Reed Richards in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Fantastic Four reboot, a conversation he admitted he’d love to have with Kevin Feige.
Everyone knows at this point that Krasinski was on the final shortlist of contenders to play Captain America before Chris Evans was cast, and new fan art from Art of Time Travel imagines how he would have looked as a more comic book accurate version of the star-spangled Avenger, which you can check out below.
There’s an air of inevitability about John Krasinksi joining the MCU even if it isn’t as Reed Richards, especially with the rumors that he’s being eyed for the multiverse’s Captain America, and the fans would be happy to see him on board whatever the role.

Josh Brolin Says Playing Cable In Deadpool 2 Felt Like A Business Transaction
Josh Brolin recently discussed playing Cable in Deadpool 2 and compared the experience to a “business transaction” unlike his time as the MCU’s Thanos.
Cable was a welcome and well-received addition to the franchise, but now that Disney owns the rights to X-Men and the Regenerating Degenerate is basically a part of the MCU, the future of the series, and Brolin’s character, in particular, remain in an ambiguous developmental state. Of course, a report that surfaced a couple of months ago all but suggested that the actor is in talks to return in a potential threequel and made it pretty clear that they want to keep Brolin around as part of Wade’s infamous X-Force.
Which certainly makes sense, as the two of them together make for a legendary duo, one ripe with narrative opportunities to explore. Besides, fans absolutely loved Brolin and his portrayal of Cable in the second film, so why wouldn’t they want him back?
Though as much as we appreciated his superb acting skills, it seems that Brolin himself had a more difficult time on the set of Deadpool 2 as opposed to playing the Mad Titan in the MCU. Here’s what he had to say about the two franchises in a recent conversation on the Team Deakins podcast:
“Deadpool was hard. Even though it was funny, it was harder. That was more of a business transaction, it was more, ‘We need to make this like this,’ whereas I didn’t feel that way with Avengers.”
Frankly, the two characters couldn’t be further apart in terms of distinctive traits, even if they exist in the same fictional universe. Brolin highlighted this difference as well by bringing up a conversation he had with the Russo Brothers about Thanos, noting:
“I mentioned [Marlon] Brando in Apocalypse Now, this guy who is very elusive and insane but what he is saying makes sense and is poetical [and] I started seeing the parallel, which I liked for me. I loved being able to resort to a film like Apocalypse Now when I was doing something like Avengers.”
By the sound of it, the actor didn’t have as much freedom with Cable as he did with the Mad Titan in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Though it could also be the fact that he related to Thanos through Brando’s character in Apocalypse Now, a creative resonance that was clearly lacking in Deadpool 2.
