WB Reportedly Planning Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice Remake

As one of the most highly-anticipated movies in history, there was no way that Zack Snyder’s Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice could have possibly lived up to everybody’s expectations, but at the same time, Warner Bros. could have never expected the disappointment and apathy that many fans and critics greeted it with.

Seeing the two titans of DC Comics duke it out on the big screen had been a dream project for years, but when it finally reached cinemas, they only battled each other for about three minutes, with the movie seemingly more preoccupied in building towards the rest of the DCEU with an overload of exposition, world-building and hastily-assembled mythology.

Batman V Superman looked like such a guaranteed slam dunk that a box office total of almost $875 million was viewed as a disappointment for something that should have easily sailed past the billion dollar mark. And now, just four years later, we find the entire DCEU quietly rebooting in an effort to distance itself from the Snyder era.

We’ve reported previously that Warner Bros. expect Robert Pattinson’s Batman to become a key part of the shared universe, something that Matt Reeves isn’t too keen on, and now we’ve heard that the studio are already planning on having the Dark Knight and Superman face off on the big screen again.

According to our sources – the same ones who told us Green Lantern and Justice League Dark shows are coming to HBO Max, which we now know to be true – once Pattinson’s Caped Crusader is fully established and they eventually put Henry Cavill out of his misery and recast the Man of Steel, the plan for the new and improved DCEU a few years down the line will be a thinly-veiled Dawn of Justice remake, which most likely won’t be called Batman V Superman for obvious reasons.

That being said, it’ll still feature the two iconic heroes squaring off. Specific plot details remain unclear at this stage, given that this wouldn’t happen for a while yet, but we’re told that Warner Bros. definitely wants to do another Batman vs. Superman-type movie at some point, once they’ve established the new versions of both heroes.

Given how strong the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement remains three years on, as well as the recent live-streaming event that celebrated Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice‘s fourth anniversary, this would no doubt send the fanbase into total meltdown. But it seems that the studio is truly doing everything they can to pretend the Snyder era never happened and we can only hope that their new takes on the iconic characters find more success than what came before.

Amazon using thermal cameras at some warehouses to scan workers for fevers

Amazon is now using thermal cameras at its warehouses to help screen workers for fevers, Reuters reports. The thermal imaging cameras are faster to use than the standard forehead thermometers Amazon had been using to test workers for fevers, which are a primary symptom of the coronavirus.

“We implemented daily temperature checks in our operations locations as an additional preventative measure to support the health and safety of our employees who continue to provide a critical service in our communities,” Amazon spokesperson Kristen Kish said in a statement emailed to The Verge. “We are now implementing the use of thermal cameras for temperature screening to create a more streamlined experience at some of our sites.”

Halloween Kills Writer Says It’s Badder And Meaner Than The First

Fans had been burned by so many disappointing sequels and remakes over the years that the critical and commercial success that greeted 2018’s Halloween took many people by surprise, especially with the unlikely comedy-driven duo of David Gordon Green and Danny McBride acting as the creative driving forces behind the project.

Not only did it become the first installment in the franchise since John Carpenter’s classic 40 years previously to receive widespread acclaim, but it also became the highest-grossing Halloween movie by a country mile, earning over $100m more at the box office than Rob Zombie’s 2007 remake, which previously held the top spot.

Sequel Halloween Kills was swiftly announced and headed into production in virtually no time, and was in front of cameras less than a year after Jamie Lee Curtis’ Laurie Strode has made her long-awaited return to our screens. Everybody involved has touted that the movie is going to be bigger and badder, with producer Jason Blum claiming that the scope and scale of Halloween Kills will be much greater, while Michael Myers actor James Jude Courtney compared the upcoming follow-up to its predecessor, except on speed.

Now writer Scott Teems has made another drug-related analogy, while once again playing up the notion that Halloween Kills is going to be an altogether nastier beast.

“I really can’t say anything about it, but I am really excited about it. I saw a rough cut of it a few weeks ago, and I’m a little biased, but my gut says that people that like the last one will be very excited about this one. It’s like the first one on steroids, I guess. It really is the bigger, badder, meaner version of the first one.”

Halloween Kills is still scheduled for release in October, even with the movie in the midst of production before the Coronavirus forced the entire entertainment industry into  a state of lockdown, but based on what everybody involved in the movie is saying, fans will be hoping that Michael Myers’ latest outing manages to hit theaters on time so they can see for themselves.

Tom Holland Reportedly Confirmed To Return For New Avengers Movie

The franchise has earned over $20 billion at the box office and boasts numerous movies headlined by eleven different superheroes, but by far, the Avengers films are the crown jewel of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After all, the four outings for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes are the top-grossing installments and each one has been an absolute behemoth at the box office.

As Endgame saw most of the team either killed off or “retire” though, it’s unclear where the supergroup will show up next and what form they’ll take when we see them again. Kevin Feige has already admitted that we’ll see a fifth Avengers movie at some point, but no one’s sure when that’ll be. It’ll be a ways off yet, no doubt, but an interesting new report has now shed a bit of light on what we can expect.

Jeremy Conrad over at MCU Cosmic has explained that Captain Marvel 2 will act in many ways as the set-up for Avengers 5. Kind of like how Captain America: Civil War setup the Avengers’ status quo for Infinity War. This is because Carol Danvers will reportedly be the new leader of the team and apparently, the film will include a whole number of heroes aside from just its titular one. Again, similar to Civil War.

But perhaps the most exciting part of Conrad’s report is when he mentions that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man will return for the next Avengers movie, which is being called New Avengers at the moment. It’s not terribly surprising to hear that Peter Parker will be involved given that he’s one of the leading faces of the MCU now with Cap and Iron Man gone, but given all the uncertainty surrounding his future due to the Sony fiasco, which saw him pulled out of the franchise temporarily over the summer, it’s good to know that he’s sticking around for the long haul.

Then again, with New Avengers still pretty far off, things can always change and who knows what twists and turns the MCU will end up taking. But for now, at least, it seems the plan is to have Spidey return for the film and that can only be good news for fans.
