Marvel Reportedly Plans To Make [SPOILERS] The MCU’s Next Doctor Strange

Iron Man’s demise in Avengers: Endgame reminded us that the heroes of the MCU can’t go on forever, and by the end of Phase 4, even some of the second generation of Avengers will be very long in the tooth. Take Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange, for instance. By the time, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness arrives on its newly-updated release date of November 2021, the British actor will have occupied the role for (likely) five films across five years.

So, we might not see him in the franchise much longer after that. That’s no problem, though, as the folks at Marvel may already be looking ahead at how to handle his exit. As we’ve previously reported, We Got This Covered has heard that Cumberbatch doesn’t have much left on his current contract, which isn’t expected to be extended. After he’s done with the MCU, then, Marvel may bump up another character to effectively be the new Doctor Strange. And we’ve been told it’ll be Clea, someone who’s yet to debut on screen.

Sources close to WGTC – the same ones who informed us about She-Hulk and Ms. Marvel TV series being on the way and the Guardians having a cameo in Thor: Love and Thunder – say that Clea will serve as the next Sorcerer Supreme after the good doctor eventually hangs up his cloak. Once that happens, she’ll become the resident magic-user in the MCU and while she won’t be called Doctor Strange, she’ll essentially fill his role in the franchise.

This makes a lot of sense, too, as it’s heavily suspected that Clea will make her debut in Multiverse of Madness. She’s Strange’s main love interest in the comics and, with Rachel McAdams not returning as Christine Palmer in the sequel, the door is open for her to walk into Stephen’s life. She should be a fun character, too, as since she’s the niece of Dormammu and sometimes ruler of the Dark Dimension, Clea has powers that rival Strange’s own.

Tell us, though, who’s looking forward to seeing Clea enter the MCU, especially as she could be the next Doctor Strange? Share your thoughts in the usual place down below.

Quibi is coming, with the worst — or maybe best — timing

Quibi was never supposed to compete with Netflix or Disney Plus.

The novelty was shortform video for people as they waited for coffee or the bus. The space Quibi intended to seize was the lost minutes in the day — the ones big streamers aren’t competing for. But the COVID-19 pandemic has changed Quibi’s plans as it launches on Monday, April 6th. The question was whether Hollywood icon Jeffrey Katzenberg and Silicon Valley giant Meg Whitman could make a streaming service designed to be enjoyed on the go.

Now Quibi has to compete on the couch.

It’s another obstacle in Quibi’s attempt to break into an already oversaturated market. This is both the best and the worst time to be launching a streaming service. People are hungry for new...

Etsy reminds sellers making cloth face masks: Don’t suggest they prevent COVID 19 infection

Etsy stock

Etsy sellers have sold hundreds of thousands of cloth face masks in the past few days, the company says, and demand is likely to outstrip supply soon now that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has shifted its guidance on wearing such masks in public.

“We hope that increasing the availability of fabric, non-medical grade face masks from Etsy sellers will allow more medical and surgical masks to reach the people who need them most: front-line health care workers,” Etsy CEO Josh Silverman said in a statement Friday.

But while Silverman encouraged sellers to consider making the masks, a set of guidelines for sellers stresses that making medical claims about the masks is against its rules, and, advises sellers not to use...

“Reimagined” E3 2021 scheduled for next June

The Entertainment Software Association has notified partners that E3 2021 will be held June 15th to 17th, 2021, according to GamesIndustry.biz. The ESA canceled E3 2020 last month due to concerns about the COVID-19 outbreak but is reportedly working on a “reimagined” event for 2021.

There’s still no word on whether North America’s biggest annual gaming conference, held annually since 1995, will return in some other form in 2020. When it announced the cancellation of this year’s E3, the ESA said “We are also exploring options with our members to coordinate an online experience to showcase industry announcements and news in June 2020.”

E3 has traditionally been one of the biggest weeks for new video game announcements, but several big...

Marvel Reportedly Plans To Race-Bend Major Character In Blade Reboot

Blade is on his way to the MCU at last. Mahershala Ali was confirmed to be resurrecting the Daywalker on the big screen last summer, with the two time Oscar-winning actor taking over the iconic role made famous by Wesley Snipes in the original Blade trilogy of the late 90s/early 00s. The titular vampire hunter himself likely won’t be the only character from the old movies getting a revamp, though, so expect some very different versions of familiar characters.

In fact, We Got This Covered has heard from our sources – the same ones who told us Disney is developing a Beauty and the Beast spinoff for Gaston and Ahsoka Tano is going to appear in The Mandalorian season 2, both of which are now confirmed – that Deacon Frost will appear in the Blade reboot and will undergo a major change from previous versions. And that’s because the character, played by Stephen Dorff in the 1998 film, will be portrayed as black this time around, we’re being told.

Of course, Deacon Frost goes right back to Blade’s origins in the early Tomb of Dracula comics of the 70s. Originally depicted as a classical vampire from 1800s Germany, the Snipes movie completely revamped him as it is, with Dorff playing the character as much younger and more contemporary. So, Marvel Studios definitely has the freedom to adapt the him however they see fit.

As for how exactly Frost might fit into the story, that we don’t yet know, but we’ve heard that Dracula himself is expected to serve as the main villain. Though as of yet, we’re still pretty in the dark in regards to plot details and we imagine things will remain that way for a while longer.

After all, Blade has yet to even receive a release date, but it’s definitely one of the most exciting upcoming projects on Marvel’s books and we’ll be sure to let you know as soon as we hear more about it.
