Lime is relaunching Jump’s electric bikes in London
Lime is relaunching Jump’s electric bike-share service in London in its first move since acquiring the struggling bike brand from Uber.
To start out, the bikes will be available to rent in the Uber app only — they will added to the Lime app at a later date “following further systems integration,” Lime said. A few hundred e-bikes will be available at first, and will grow with demand, the company says. Pricing will be £1 unlock and 15 pence per minute after. The bikes will initially be deployed in Camden and Islington.
The return of Jump’s e-bikes may come as a surprise to some who were pessimistic about the brand’s survival following Lime’s acquisition in June. The bikes were removed from all of their US and European markets after the...

Watch: The Mothman Legacy Trailer Explores An Ancient Secret
From the folklore of West Virginia comes the Mothman, a creature sporadically sighted and thought to herald the coming of disasters and death. Documentary The Mothman Legacy takes a look at the urban myth and how it has cemented itself into the minds of locals, and is coming to digital streaming platforms on October 20th, just in time for Halloween.
The creation of documentary filmmaker Seth Breedlove, the pic examines the enigmatic entity and its history. Although typically thought of as being something rooted in the ‘60s, after which time reports of a “winged, red-eyed creature” began to peter out, the film imagines the possibility of it having been around for far longer than a few mere decades, and with much wider scope than merely the confines of the Mountain State. It features interviews with locals who have encountered the Mothman alongside people who have studied and written about the sightings.
The isn’t the first time that Breedlove has examined the legend. 2017’s The Mothman of Point Pleasant details the thirteen months from November 1966 to December 1967 when regular sightings were recorded, and while not a direct continuation, 2019’s Terror in the Skies references the entity as it details the various winged creatures to have been reportedly spotted throughout Illinois.
The Mothman has also appeared in popular culture, most notably in 2002 movie The Mothman Prophecies, loosely based on the nonfiction book of the same name by journalist John Keel about his investigation into the figure. Here, the creature was cast as a portentous entity attempting to warn humanity of encroaching dangers but lacking the language to make its future knowledge understood, and featured a fictionalized account of the events surrounding the collapse of the Silver Bridge, a disaster that popularized the myth.
If The Mothman Legacy is anything like the trailer for it above, it’ll be a suitably unnerving examination of a phenomenon made all the more sinister through the lack of understanding of its central figure.

Brie Larson Explains How Her Life Changed After Captain Marvel
Though it’s every adolescent’s dream to achieve some kind of stardom – that’s the callowness of youth for you – the truth is, being famous comes with demands. Brie Larson was making a name for herself as an accomplished actor in independent cinema over the past decade, culminating in an Oscar for her performance in 2017 drama Room. But landing the lead in Captain Marvel catapulted her from industry respect to global recognition.
Appearing on YouTube series Hot Ones (don’t ask me to explain), Larson was asked about her previously stated desire to maintain some anonymity as an actor, to which she gave this response:
“I would imagine that whenever I did that article like I wasn’t Captain Marvel,” Larson said. “It was like, there was a little bit more leeway between what it was that I was doing and I made the decision to be Captain Marvel and I knew what came with that and so, it’s been a really beautiful experience actually. I would imagine when I did that article if there had ever been a paparazzi photo it would’ve left me in a full-on panic attack because it felt so jarring and scary and exposing and now, like, honestly if I see a paparazzi I’m like ‘hi’ and they’re like ‘hi Brie’.”
“It’s just different for me now and I’ve found that whenever I’ve read an interview or a biography or watched a video with an artist that I love and they’re very candid and they’re flawed and I get to see their process, I feel like ‘oh my God oh my God yes, like I’m not the only one who feels like that,’ and I just started to realize that I was being too self preservational…is that a word? Self preservating, more than I needed to I suppose.”
It’d be quite the culture shock if you signed onto a Marvel movie ignorant of the implications doing so has on your private life. To be fair, it’d likely be a culture shock anyway unless you were already a star, but at least Larson appears to have been prepared.
It brings to mind comments from her Avengers co-star Chris Evans, who spoke a few weeks ago about dealing with the jump from the small time to the big time. Actors are only human, after all, much as the heroes we associate them with don’t seem to be.
Got any thoughts on Larson’s comments? Drop ‘em below. You may also have caught the news (in an admittedly expanded definition of the term) that she’s just started a YouTube channel. It’s heartening to know actors have been as strapped for things to do during the pandemic as the rest of us. I bought a guitar, that’s how strapped I’ve been. The sooner actors get back to acting and hacks like me stop murdering Led Zeppelin, the better. At this rate, even I’ll be screaming for the next Captain Marvel.

Captain Marvel Star Brie Larson Starts YouTube Channel As Platform For Social Activism
A lot of us have picked up new hobbies while in quarantine, and Captain Marvel actress Brie Larson has just revealed hers to the world. The Oscar-winning star has started up a YouTube channel today, which she intends to employ for social activism, as a way of putting her “privilege and platform” to good use.
In her 21-minute long first video, Larson speaks about why she’s decided to use YouTube as her platform on which to speak out. She promised “deep conversations” in future vlogs, but teased that there will also be some “silly content” as she “expresses [her]self personally.”
“YouTube has been a place [where] I have learnt so much,” the Captain Marvel star says. “Whether it’s been how to use my printer or it’s been watching how to be a considerate activist… This is the place to talk about things that are important and that matter. It doesn’t mean that there isn’t also silly content or ways for me to express myself personally, but there will also be deep conversations, anti-racist rhetoric, inclusive content.”
Elsewhere in the video, Larson chats with a range of YouTube stars via Zoom calls, including Justine Ezarik, Lilly Singh, Michelle Khare, Swoozie, and Hot Ones host Sean Evans. When asked by hairstylist Bryce Scarlett if she’s going to use her channel for social activism, Larson had this to say:
“Yes. Because I think it’s about being myself. If I think about what my days are like, especially right now, it’s having Zoom calls with different activists, intaking a lot of information, having tough conversations.”
While speaking to Mitchell Moffit and Gregory Brown of the ASAP Science channel, she added that:
“I’m a white woman with privilege and a platform, so it doesn’t make any sense to me to just make it all about me the whole time.”
Larson also opened up about her social anxiety and why taking on the role of Captain Marvel was so important to her. In her video description, meanwhile, she highlights several black actors and activists including fellow MCU actress Tessa Thompson, Janet Mock and Aaron Philip.
The star will next suit up as Carol Danvers in the Marvel universe in Captain Marvel 2, which is due to hit theaters in a little over two years from now on July 8th, 2022.
