After much public mud-slinging and fingers of blame and accusation being pointed in many directions, Disney and Scarlett Johansson finally resolved their issues, with the actress’ breach of contract lawsuit surrounding the decision to send Black Widow to Disney Plus Premier Access without altering the terms of her deal having been settled.

James Gunn Confirms He’s Developing A New DC Project

The Suicide Squad may have flopped at the box office after failing to recoup the hefty $185 million budget from theaters, but that hasn’t dissuaded Warner Bros. and DC Films from wanting to work with James Gunn again. Quite the opposite, in fact.
Of course, it helps that the second outing for Task Force X became one of the most acclaimed installments in DCEU history, with buzz starting to build around upcoming spinoff series Peacemaker. The Guardians of the Galaxy director admitted he’d love to stick around Hollywood’s other superhero shared universe, and the higher-ups would be glad to keep hold of him.

A Controversial Ben Affleck Film Is Dominating Streaming

Whenever a Hollywood movie claims to be inspired or based on a true story, it’s well worth taking that with a pinch of salt, when at least a touch of creative license is applied in the overwhelming majority of cases.
Take Ben Affleck’s Argo, for instance, which turned out to be a critical and commercial darling after earning $232 million at the box office before going on to win three Academy Awards from seven nominations, including Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay.

Eternals Fans Spot Cool Mythological Easter Egg In New Promo

Today’s superhero blockbusters are often named as the modern equivalent of the mythological legends that have endured for hundreds if not thousands of years, with Zack Snyder’s DCEU trilogy in particular deliberately painted as a sweeping, operatic saga of gods and monsters.
Chloé Zhao’s upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe blockbuster Eternals is about a scattered banned of intergalactic visitors that have resided on Earth for millennia without getting directly involved in human affairs, so there’s already plenty of scope to tie the various members of the team to established stories we all grew up hearing within the context of the franchise.

A Wild Comedy Based On A True Story Is Dominating Streaming

A broad studio comedy starring a cavalcade of famous faces is hardly the sort of project you’d expect to come slapped with the ‘inspired by a true story’ branding, especially when the concept of Tag is utterly ridiculous.
Ed Helms, Jake Johnson, Hannibal Buress, Jon Hamm and Jeremy Renner star as a quintet of lifelong friends that have been playing the same game of tag for 35 years, interrupting each other’s lives on an annual basis to keep it going. Renner has never once been ‘it’, so his buddies descend on his wedding in the hopes they’ll finally be able to catch him off guard.

MCU Fans Debate How T’Challa’s Death Should Be Handled

One of the most pressing questions surrounding Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is how the movie will address the passing of leading man Chadwick Boseman in canon. It’s a tragic and massively unfortunate position for the cast, crew and creative team to find themselves in, but audiences will be heading into theaters in July 2022 wondering how the delicate situation will be handled onscreen.
With T’Challa out of the picture, Letitia Wright’s Shuri is expected to take up the mantle in a project that needs director Ryan Coogler firing on all cylinders. The filmmaker has to deliver a comic book blockbuster capable of living up to the expectations of following an original that was a cultural phenomenon and Best Picture nominee, while also expanding the mythology of Wakanda, passing the torch to a new title hero and celebrating Boseman’s legacy.

Rocky IV Director’s Cut Has A Much Bigger Role For An Iconic Character

Sylvester Stallone may have removed Paulie’s robot butler SICO from his Rocky IV Director’s Cut, much to the chagrin of the fan favorite’s creator, but the extended and expanded version of the 1985 smash hit is set to feature one of the franchise’s biggest icons in a more significant role.
Now officially titled Rocky v. Drago: The Ultimate Director’s Cut, Stallone has been working on the project since early last year, and it was recently confirmed to be playing in theaters for one night only before coming to digital on November 12. Fans have been salivating at the prospect of the ultimate 1980s cheesefest returning in even longer and more glorious form, and the trailer confirmed that Burgess Meredith’s Mickey will have a much bigger presence in the all-new version of the film.

Doctor Strange 2 Crew Merch Reveals New Scarlet Witch-Inspired Logo

In true Marvel Cinematic Universe fashion, we know enough about Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness without really knowing anything at all, even though the Sorcerer Supreme’s sequel is less than six months way from coming to theaters.
The post-credits scene of WandaVision showed Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch tapping into the multiverse having mastered the Darkhold and embraced her limitless power, while the idea of alternate realities was brought fully into play during Loki‘s Season 1 finale.

Daniel Craig’s James Bond Movies Are Dominating Streaming

Whenever the latest installment in a new franchise arrives, it encourages fans to revisit the back catalogue to reacquaint themselves with the cast, characters and plotlines poised to be picked up, and that’s proven to be true for Daniel Craig’s tenure as James Bond in a major way.
No Time to Die has gotten off to a stellar start at the international box office ahead of its domestic debut this Friday, hauling in $119 million and scoring the highest-grossing opening day in the United Kingdom since 2019. Audiences in the United States have to wait a few more days, though, which is why Craig’s previous four outings as 007 are dominating Amazon’s most-watched list.

Cobra Kai Star Wants To Be The Robin To Robert Pattinson’s Batman

We haven’t seen the Boy Wonder on the big screen since Joel Schumacher’s dismal Batman & Robin almost a quarter of a century ago, but the Caped Crusader’s loyal, faithful and dedicated sidekick has been teased on a couple of occasions in the interim.
The epilogue to Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises that revealed John Blake’s birth name as Robin proved to be divisive, before the trilogy-closing chapter ended on a tease of him discovering the Batcave that Zack Snyder was planning to pay off during early development on his version of the DCEU.

An Underrated Sci-Fi Flop Is Finding New Life On Streaming

High concept sci-fi is everywhere you look these days, and as a result some great movies haven fallen through the cracks, failing to find the size of audience they deserved. Luckily, the advent of streaming has rectified that to a certain extent, with countless underrated and under-seen titles finding new life with subscribers all over the world.
The latest case in point is Jeff Nichols’ Midnight Special, which flopped at the box office back in early 2016 after earning less than $7 million on a thrifty $18 million budget. The ambitious thriller drew widespread praise from critics and currently holds a strong 83% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but audiences just weren’t interested.

The release of Rocky III in in the summer of 1982 was such a huge moment for audiences everywhere that The Purge creator James DeMonaco based a whole movie around it, and it still ranks as the second highest-grossing entry in the series to date after hauling in $270 million at the box office.
