Paul Rudd Has High Praise For Ant-Man 3’s Big Bad

The first two installments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s smallest standalone franchise largely weren’t concerned with world or universe-saving shenanigans, opting to keep the narrative focus fairly contained. Of course, that’s all set to change in a huge way when Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania comes to theaters in February 2023, all thanks to Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror.

The fast-rising star was announced as the big bad of the movie long before we had an inkling that he wouldn’t just show up in Loki‘s Season 1 finale, but reveal himself as the entire MCU’s next Thanos-level threat. With He Who Remains out of the picture, the doors to the multiverse have just been cracked open, and Kang will kick them off their hinges.

M. Night Shyamalan’s New Movie Gets A Title And Release Date

Less than six weeks after Old hit theaters, where it went on to become a solid pandemic-era success after earning $90 million at the box office on an $18 million budget, M. Night Shyamalan was on social media teasing that he was already nearing completion on his next screenplay.

After reviving his career with the one-two punch of The Visit and Split, Glass and Old ended up scoring lukewarm reviews from critics and audiences, but each managed to turn a sizeable profit. At one stage there was a very real danger that cinema’s former wunderkind would see his name reduced to a punchline, but he’s back in a big way.

Jason Blum Teases More Universal Monsters Reboots

After the almost laughable failure of the Dark Universe, which attempted to reinvent Universal’s classic stable of monsters as action heroes played by A-list stars, Blumhouse and Saw co-creator Leigh Whannell almost immediately showed the studio how it should be done.

Instead of a $150 million CGI-laded epic with Tom Cruise in the lead role, Jason Blum and Whannell partnered up for The Invisible Man, a $7 million psychological thriller with sci-fi and horror elements that placed the massively talented Elisabeth Moss front and center.

Eternals Producer Addresses Potential MCU Crossovers

Although it isn’t mandatory, virtually every installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will feature connective tissue of some kind, whether it’s as innocuous as a brief line of dialogue referencing a certain character or event, or a full-blown cameo from one of the franchise’s familiar faces.

We know that Eternals is going to be directly influenced and impacted by the events of Avengers: Endgame, with mentions of Thanos and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes peppered throughout the various trailers and TV spots, but there’s been virtually no rumors of surprise guests or potential nods towards future movies or Disney Plus shows.

Halloween Kills Tracking For $40 Million Opening Weekend

James Wan’s Malignant may have flopped hard at the box office, but the success of A Quiet Place Part II and The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It showed that blockbuster horror properties could thrive during the pandemic era, with audiences turning up in their numbers to see the respective sequels.

Universal seemingly neutered any chances Halloween Kills had of living up to its commercial potential when it was announced the middle chapter in David Gordon Green’s trilogy would debut on Peacock the same day it hit theaters, but that might not be the case.

Gunpowder Milkshake Team Working On Sci-Fi Action Thriller From Source Code Writer

Netflix action movie Gunpowder Milkshake generated a lot of buzz when it hit streaming in July, with fans praising the kinetic, highly-stylized set pieces and world-building that very much lived up to those John Wick and Kill Bill comparisons.

It was far from the most original actioner audiences had ever seen, but a winning performance from an ass-kicking Karen Gillan and stellar support from Lena Headey, Carla Gugino, Angela Bassett and Michelle Yeoh elevated the adrenaline-fueled mid budget genre film above mediocrity. A sequel was announced shortly afterwards, but the production companies behind Gunpowder Milkshake have something else in mind first.

No Time To Die Director Compares James Bond To The Simpsons

There isn’t another franchise in Hollywood like James Bond, which has endured for nearly 60 years and 25 installments, regularly recasting its leading man and reinventing itself from the ground up to keep moving with the times and remain relevant. Daniel Craig has bowed out with the release of No Time to Die, but by this time next year 007’s latest reboot will be well into early development.

Not many direct comparisons can be made between cinema’s most famous secret agent and The Simpsons, other than their respective longevity, but No Time to Die director Cary Joji Fukunaga posits that they’ve both shown a habit for predicting real-world events ahead of time.

Blumhouse have become famed for turning a never-ending parade of low budget horrors and thrillers into sustained box office successes, which includes multiple franchises spanning several movies or more, but Happy Death Day 3 has remained mired in development hell, despite the desire to get it made.

Unfortunately, the Blumhouse boss has cast doubt on Happy Death Day 3 before, admitting that the sequel’s earnings dropping by 50% was a roadblock.
