Disney and Marvel must surely love their extremely dedicated fans 3,000 after the world banded together to make Avengers: Endgame the highest grossing movie of all time. The finale to the first three phases of superhero flicks tied up most loose ends and delivered a satisfying conclusion, and in order to do that, it clocked in at a hair over three hours.
The film would’a been even longer if some scenes didn’t wind up on the cutting room floor and now, we’ve seen one of those short missing scenes and it’s pretty funny. Embedded down below, the sequence in question is set during the planning of the Time Heist, and it features some dialogue between War Machine and Captain America.
Presumably figuring out where the Tesseract is in the past, Rhodey asks Steve where it wound up. We all know Cap froze himself at the bottom of the ocean as a great sacrifice, but Don Cheadle asks an important question: Why didn’t Mr. Rogers just, you know, jump out of the plane?

Fans have been asking that same question ever since Cap’s first film released, way back in the day. It raises a good point, but jeez guys, if he hadn’t become Captain Popsicle, then we wouldn’t have any of these movies. I also totally get why they would cut this scene: it’s simply too meta.
The Russo brothers are well known for their love of meta humor, using it to great effect on both Arrested Development‘s early seasons, as well as Community‘s early seasons. But really, a little meta goes a long way in a ridiculous over-the-top cornucopia of ridiculousness already.
Still, this scene shows everyone just how funny these movies could really be when they wanted to. Here’s to hoping that the rest of the deleted scenes, which I’m sure we’ll all get to see when Avengers: Endgame is out on digital tomorrow, July 30th, and physically August 13th, are just as entertaining.

Of course, this is a long time coming, as the studio’s been teasing the world with more LGBTQ representation in their movies for years but has yet to deliver. Now, though, they’re ready to make good on their promise and not only will Love and Thunder include LGBTQ representation in the form of Valkyrie, but we may be getting a transgender hero as well in the film.
The GWW have heard that Marvel’s currently searching for a transwoman to play a role going under the codename “Jessica.” It’s unclear what the actual part is or what project it’s for, but the outlet believes the character in question is actually Sera, Marvel’s only existing transwoman hero.
Jane Foster Becomes Thor On Awesome Love And Thunder Fan Poster
“Sera’s an Anchorite, a small group of male, wingless Angels who were kept inside a temple in Heven, the Tenth Realm. Sera was the only one of the Anchorites who identified as a woman, thus being the first and, so far, only major transwoman in Marvel comics. She was kept inside the temple until she met Angela, Thor’s long-lost half-sister, and helped her defeat a monster. For her help, Angela freed Sera and they stuck together through many adventures across the Nine Realms, eventually becoming lovers.”
Of course, those who read the comics will know that Sera is closely associated with the Thor canon, which fuels the speculation of her appearing in Love and Thunder. Perhaps even as Valkyrie’s queen? Then again, Marvel has yet to confirm any of this, so take it with the usual grain of salt.
Regardless, it’s clear that the studio is finally making good on their promise to increase diversity in the MCU and even if Thor: Love and Thunder doesn’t feature the first transgender hero, fans can rest easy knowing that that particular milestone will soon be met.

Now that Avengers: Endgame has officially conquered the all-time box office record, Disney has set its sights on dominating the home video market. To build hype around its July 30th digital debut and next month’s Blu-ray release, Marvel has been dropping all sorts of behind the scenes featurettes and much ballyhooed deleted scenes. In fact, just this morning, another cut scene made its way online, and though it’s shorter on emotion, it’s still big on laughs.
The scene – which you can watch down below – finds Rocket studying news footage of the big Chitauri battle at the end of the first Avengers movie, questioning why it took so long for the original six heroes to take down the alien army when they could’ve just blown up the mother ship. After Steve Rogers earnestly reveals that they didn’t realize they could do that, Rocket laughs so hard that Tony takes it upon himself to shut the little creature up.
On top of garnering a laugh or two, the scene seems to be a deliberate dig at the first film’s often-criticized “Keystone Army” trope, as the large amount of Chitauri forces are all instantly defeated by simply taking out their battle station. While it conveniently wraps up the big battle, it’s still one of the weakest aspects of one of Marvel’s best movies, so it’s nice to see that the studio isn’t too self-serious to critique itself.

Within the story, however, the supposed weakness of the Chitauri also sheds light on Thanos’ original underestimation of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, giving Loki “the suckiest army in the galaxy” in order to retrieve the Space Stone. Although, considering the Asgardians seem wise to the ways of the Cosmos, it certainly raises eyebrows that neither Thor nor his brother knew this ahead of time.
Of course, this deleted scene is just one of the many, many supplements included on the Avengers: Endgame home video release, which hits digital at the end of the month and Blu-ray shelves on Tuesday, August 13th. Considering every feature we’ve seen so far has had some effect on our understanding of the MCU’s past and future, this may be a release worth owning for yourself.

Marvel’s always been pretty good to its fans, but Avengers: Endgamewas a true thank you to everyone who had supported the franchise for the past 10 years as it was practically 3 hours of fan service of the highest order. There are so many moments that made MCU lovers whoop with joy or punch the air, but one that springs to mind is the scene in which Captain America finally proves he’s worthy and lifts Mjolnir to save Thor from Thanos.
With Endgame now becoming available for download, an official clip of this iconic moment has been released. Down below, you can relive the awe we all felt when the camera pans over to Steve to show him holding both his vibranium shield and the Asgardian’s weapon. The Mad Titan never had a chance.
Of course, Cap’s worthiness was something that was much discussed following the movie’s release. The scene itself is a callback to both a famous comic book moment and Steve’s attempt to lift Mjolnir back in Avengers: Age of Ultron – he was the only one who managed to get a nudge out of it. The Russos have suggested that Cap was always worthy and pretended he couldn’t lift it back in Ultron to save Thor from embarrassment.
Russo Brothers Share Awesome New Avengers: Endgame BTS Photos And Tell Fans To See It Again
Still, just because the creators view Cap’s worthiness this way doesn’t mean we all have to. Some prefer to ignore the filmmakers’ interpretation and see Steve’s increased ability to wield Mjolnir as a product of his character development across the MCU. In the original Ultron scene, it certainly looks like Cap’s oblivious to the fact he almost moved the hammer and Thor is the only one who noticed.
Regardless of how long he’s been able to lift it, the moment he finally did in Avengers: Endgamewas really something special and now you can relive it again and again with the video up above.

It’s been a bittersweet year for diehard Marvel Studios fans. Within the past seven months, the House of Ideas gave the world Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: Far From Home, each a billion-dollar grossing movie that served to expand the corners of the MCU. However, fans of the more street-level heroes took a hit when the studio pulled the plug on their final Netflix series Jessica Jones and The Punisher, bringing what remained of The Defenders to an early end.
We heard earlier this week though that the MCU wasn’t yet finished with the team, with a Daredevil reboot allegedly already in the works. Now, it sounds like revamped versions of Luke Cage and Iron Fist are on the way, too.
Cosmic Book News has heard from their source that the studio plans to reboot both characters in a Heroes For Hire project. While it’s currently unknown if the duo will receive a movie or a Disney Plus series, it’s very unlikely that Finn Jones and Mike Coulter will reprise their roles. While Netflix retains the rights to the characters for the next couple of years, we know Marvel’s Phase 5 will kick-off right around the time the studio gains those rights back.
HD Stills For Luke Cage Season 2 Arrive Ahead Of Tomorrow's Big Premiere
Sources also confirmed to Cosmic Book News the long rumored feud between Head of Marvel TV Jeph Loeb and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, leading the latter to officially oversee all future streaming series for Disney Plus. The Netflix Iron Fist show was particularly criticized upon its release, digging a deeper trench between the studio’s television and film departments, so with Feige now in control, Disney hopes to bring the same quality to the smaller screen as it’s consistently brought to cinemas.
The news of the Heroes for Hire reboot comes a little over a week since Marvel revealed that Mahershala Ali will spearhead a new Blade film. Ali, who had previously portrayed Cottonmouth on Luke Cage before winning two Academy Awards, personally pitched the idea to Feige, essentially driving a stake into any shared continuity between Netflix and the films. Could the rumored R-rating of the Blade reboot pave a way for much more adult fare by the time Heroes for Hire arrives? We’ll just have to wait and find out.
