Black Widow’s Florence Pugh Is One Of The Most Popular Stars In The World Right Now
Black Widow actress Florence Pugh is the second biggest star in the world right now. The Brit’s career has been on the up and up over the past few years, with Pugh turning in acclaimed turns in the likes of Midsommar and Little Women, but it’s this Marvel Studios blockbuster that’s solidified her status as a major name.
In fact, according to IMDb’s STARmeter, Pugh is currently the #2 most popular star across the globe, a huge hike up from her previous position in 16th place. The actress isn’t the only member of the MCU family in the chart’s top 10. In total, there are five others, making it 60% Marvel-dominated right now. Loki stars Sophia Di Martino (#4), Richard E. Grant (#6) and Tom Hiddleston (#10) are all near the top, with Star-Lord himself Chris Pratt at seventh. Pratt’s surge in popularity is clearly due to recent sci-fi flick The Tomorrow War, however. His co-star Yvonne Strahovski is sitting in the number one spot, with another Tomorrow War star – Betty Gilpin – in third place.
Natasha Romanoff herself Scarlett Johansson is occupying the surprisingly low placement of 14th, a slight jump up from her last ranking at #22. This could be an indication that most IMDb users agree with something a lot of reviewers have said – that Pugh’s charismatic performance as Nat’s surrogate sister Yelena Belova steals the show from ScarJo’s central heroine. The good news is that, while Agent Romanoff’s MCU journey is possibly over, Yelena’s is just beginning. As per the Black Widow post-credits scene, we’ll next see her in Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye TV series.
Florence Pugh’s next big non-Marvel project is Don’t Worry Darling, a psychological thriller from director Olivia Wilde and featuring an ensemble cast including Harry Styles, Chris Pine and Gemma Chan. But, for the moment, you can see her in Black Widow, playing in cinemas and streaming on Disney Plus now.

A Great Ryan Reynolds Movie Is Climbing The Streaming Charts This Week
Ryan Reynolds made news earlier in the week when he appeared as Deadpool and interacted with a member of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) for the very first time, but another one of Reynolds’ movies is a big hit streaming this week.
The Croods: A New Age, an animated sequel to the 2013 film The Croods, is one of the top movies on Hulu in the world. In 2021, the movie actually ranks ninth among movies on Hulu, according to FlixPatrol, but it’s picked up incredible momentum over the past month or so.
A New Age finished atop the Hulu movie charts in June, and it remains in the top three in July. This week, the movie is fourth, behind Independence Day, Summer of Soul (…or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised), and Monster Hunter. In addition to its success on Hulu, The Croods: A New Age is among the top movies on Google, Vudu, Amazon, and Fandango this year.
In the movie, Reynolds reprises his role as Guy, a teenage caveman. In the first film, Guy met the Crood family, comprised of father Grug (Nicolas Cage), mother Ugga (Catherine Keener), son Thunk (Clark Duke), daughter Sandy (Randy Thom), the elderly Gran (Cloris Leachman), and daughter Eep (Emma Stone), the curious love interest of Guy.
While this is one of Ryan Reynolds’ most recently-released films, he has begun promoting his upcoming action comedy movie, Free Guy, which releases in theaters in the United States on Aug. 13, 2021.

Watch: Dwayne Johnson Celebrates End Of Black Adam Shoot With Cash Giveaway
Having spent fifteen years attached to the title role, you’d have to imagine a weight has been lifted from the mountainous shoulders of Dwayne Johnson now that principal photography has wrapped on Black Adam, the first foray into the superhero genre for the world’s biggest and highest-paid movie star.
Johnson’s Jungle Cruise director Jaume Collet-Serra helmed the mega budget project, which is heading to theaters in just over twelve months. It’s been a long time coming to say the least, and you can bet that the leading man, cast, crew and the entire Seven Bucks team have put everything they have into delivering the best movie possible.
Anyone to have worked with Johnson over the years can’t speak highly enough of his dedication, professionalism and generosity, so it’s hardly a surprise that he oversaw a cash giveaway for the production team to mark the end of shooting. The pot was sitting at just over $3,000, but as you can see below, the A-lister bumped it up to a nice even $10k to reward the crew for their hard work.
Now that cameras have officially stopped rolling, the arduous post-production process begins. We’re talking about an intergalactic comic book adaptation where almost every member of the ensemble announced so far possesses some kind of superpower, so the effects team are going to have their hands full.
As for the lucky folks to go home with their share of the $10,000 spoils, they’ll never forget their time as part of the Black Adam crew, and knowing how Johnson likes to work with a lot of the same people repeatedly, they might even find themselves part of another raffle somewhere down the line.

1 Cameo In Space Jam: A New Legacy Has The Internet Going Nuts
If you’re a fan of the Looney Tunes, then Space Jam: A New Legacy isn’t going to much for you, given that the roster of iconic cartoon characters are forced to play second fiddle to the CGI spectacle and cavalcade of cross-promotion that dominates almost every frame of a sequel that’s been 25 years in the making.
However, if you’re an HBO Max subscriber or a WarnerMedia shareholder, then chances are you’ll be pleased to know that nobody will be able to forget which studio was responsible for this weekend’s blockbuster. It becomes nauseating very quickly at how blatantly A New Legacy has been designed as an ad for WB’s roster of properties, and it paints a potentially terrifying picture of a future where big budget movies are engineered to sell audiences on even more content, rather than telling an actual story people can invest in.
Of course, it’s not all doom and gloom, with the second Space Jam offering a few highlights and surprise cameos that come out of nowhere. As you can see from the reactions below, one pair of unexpected guests in particular have captured the imagination of the internet, setting social media ablaze.
At least the irreverent multiversal adventures of Rick and Morty sort of make sense within the context of Space Jam: A New Legacy, which is largely predicated on LeBron James and Bugs Bunny visiting a number of different franchises in order to gather the rest of the Tune Squad and whip them into shape for a basketball game with the fate of both the real world and the ServerVerse at stake, even if the duo’s appearance was all too brief.

A Forgotten Shia LaBeouf Movie Is Blowing Up On Streaming
After a minor resurgence that saw him gain widespread acclaim for his performances in Honey Boy, The Peanut Butter Falcon and Pieces of a Woman, Shia LaBeouf’s career hit the skids again when he was hit with a series of troubling accusations by a former girlfriend, with the actor now on an extended sabbatical from acting and seeking treatment for his well-documented personal issues.
For a while, it looked as though LaBeouf was on course to establish himself as one of his generation’s finest talents, a moniker several of his former co-stars would agree with, but a succession of highly publicized incidents have been the main talking points surrounding the 35 year-old star for the last few years, as opposed to his on-camera work.
A decade ago, he was viewed as Hollywood’s next big thing having been personally endorsed by Steven Spielberg before starring in a string of box office successes including I, Robot, Constantine, Michael Bay’s first three Transformers blockbusters, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Eagle Eye and Disturbia, before turning his back on commercial filmmaking altogether.
However, that hasn’t stopped the latter of those titles from finding new life on HBO Max, with D.J. Caruso’s home invasion thriller currently one of the ten most-watched titles on the platform. A court may have decreed otherwise following a lawsuit, but it’s hardly a secret that Disturbia is heavily indebted to Alfred Hitchcock’s classic Rear Window, lifting almost the entire plot directly from the 1954 mystery, albeit with a modern spin.
Disturbia was a big hit at the time, hauling in $118 million at the box office on a $20 million budget, and fourteen years later it’s proving to be a surprise hit on WarnerMedia’s streaming service.

Karen Gillan’s New Movie Is The #1 Film On Netflix Today
The biggest and buzziest Netflix originals are always destined to crash straight into the number one spot on the platform’s most-watched list, so it’s with an air of inevitability that R-rated actioner Gunpowder Milkshake accomplished the feat less than 48 hours after being added to the platform on Wednesday.
Of course, the movie’s reign may be short-lived when you consider that both installments of the Fear Street trilogy are still nestled comfortably in second and third positions to show incredible staying power, so it’s more than likely that Part Three: 1666 will have dislodged the high concept tale of underworld assassins by the time today is over and done with.
In an unusual turn of events from a broad, violent crowd-pleaser, critics appear to have been enjoying Gunpowder Milkshake more than audiences. The Rotten Tomatoes consensus places the film at a decent 66%, but audiences have ranked it at a lower 52%, even though it’s been generating plenty of positive chatter on social media, which has evidently translated into Netflix viewership. Clearly the numbers don’t lie, though, and a huge volume of subscribers have been rushing to check it out as soon as possible to find out what all the fuss is about.
Either way, co-writer and director Navot Papushado is more than open to the idea of sequels, even if it hasn’t been officially placed into active development as had been teased by production company StudioCanal last week. A sugar rush of stylish action, needle drops and distinguished character actors sinking their teeth into B-tier genre cinema, Gunpowder Milkshake feels as though it was precision engineered to find long lasting life as a cult favorite, and it’s already gotten off to a strong start by dominating the Netflix Top 10.
