Don’t Expect A Director’s Cut Of House Of 1,000 Corpses Anytime Soon
Though Rob Zombie’s House of 1,000 Corpses is now sixteen years old, the cult filmmaker’s feature debut is still the subject of a fair amount of hearsay, much of it concerning the possibility of the movie’s fabled director’s cut finally getting a release.
The 2003 horror flick had a troubled journey to theaters, with Universal refusing to release the film due to fears of an NC-17 rating. Eventually, Zombie managed to buy back the rights to the movie and release it via Lionsgate, but even then, the film was edited down to an R-rated cut.
In the years since, the extreme content from the 1,000 Corpses director’s cut has never seen the light of day. But while Zombie’s fans would likely relish the opportunity to see what gruesome footage was left on the cutting room floor, the filmmaker admitted in a recent interview with Bloody Disgusting that it’s unlikely to happen anytime soon:
“There’s nothing. I mean, I don’t know where anything is. I gotta be honest. Nothing’s ever been discovered.”
For what it’s worth, the 3 From Hell director did go on to mention that he’d unearthed some behind-the-scenes content that could make it onto a future release, before quickly reaffirming that the NC-17 footage has yet to be found:
“The only thing I discovered, which is not footage, is one time I found a bunch of VHS tapes that had interviews with the cast on set while we were shooting. They could be a special feature, maybe, but yeah… no.
“Because we bounced around so much and stuff. It’s amazing that they lose these things. But they do. So all that stuff’s lost.”
While we can never entirely rule out the possibility of this lost footage showing up somewhere down the line, the odds are looking pretty slim right now. But hey, if you’re really desperate for new House of 1,000 Corpses content, then perhaps you can hold out hope that Zombie will some day follow through on his idea of adapting the film into a Broadway musical. Stranger things have happened, especially in the career of this director.

The Eternals Cast Photo May Hint At Role For Dan Stevens
Since your average filmgoer still knows next to nothing about the comic book characters known as The Eternals, Marvel Studios has been largely reliant on the formidable cast of Chloé Zhao’s upcoming film to stir up some excitement for next year’s release.
Already, we’ve received official confirmation that Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Brian Tyree Henry, Salma Hayek, Gemma Chan, Barry Keoghan and Kit Harington will all be making their MCU debuts in the Phase 4 flick. But now a recent Instagram post from the account of Nanjiani has got the fans wondering if Marvel still has at least one more noteworthy casting announcement up their sleeve.
The photo in question was taken in London, not far from Pinewood Studios where The Eternals is currently being filmed. In the pic, Nanjiani can be seen alongside his wife Emily Gordon, his co-star Henry and, in a potentially significant reveal, Dan Stevens of Legion and Downton Abbey fame.
Now, before we jump to any conclusions, it’s worth remembering that Stevens is a London native, meaning it’s quite possible that there’s nothing to see here except a group of actors hanging out while they happen to be in the same city at the same time. Still, it was only inevitable that this photo would get fans hoping that Stevens is about to make the jump to the MCU, and until we get some confirmation either way, surely there’s no harm in letting the internet dream a while.
In any case, we can see the full cast in action when The Eternals hits theaters on November 6th, 2020. In the meantime, Marvel’s Phase 4 kicks off with the release of Black Widow on May 1st.

Deadpool Will Be Introduced Into The MCU Like J. Jonah Jameson Was
Deadpool is coming to the MCU, that much is confirmed. While the X-Men will be completely rebooted now that the rights rest with Marvel Studios, Ryan Reynolds is fully expected to return as the Merc with a Mouth. After all, Disney would be fools to mess with a casting and portrayal of the character that’s already a smash hit.
However, there is still the challenge of making him work within the MCU, which cares a bit more about continuity than Fox’s X-Men universe. And from what We Got This Covered is hearing from our sources – the same ones who told us the Endgame re-release post-credits scene would feature the Hulk, and that Black Knight was coming to the MCU – Marvel has decided that the best way to bring Deadpool into the franchise is to follow on from how J.K. Simmons returned as J. Jonah Jameson in Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Allow us to explain…
This doesn’t mean that he’ll show up and reveal superheroes’ secret identities on the news, but rather that the approach to getting an old actor back in a previous role yet in a different universe will be the same. Just as Simmons played an alternate Jameson from the one in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man movies, so will Reynolds portray a slightly different Deadpool from the one in Fox’s universe.
That said, DP’s self-awareness is expected to remain and he’ll make jokes about his past with Fox. Given the flexibility of the fourth wall wherever Deadpool’s concerned, then, fans don’t really need to worry about this change. All it presumably means is that his MCU career won’t just pick up where Deadpool 2 left off.
We’ve previously reported that Reynolds may make his first MCU appearance in a post-credits scene of one of Marvel’s 2021 movies as well and our best guess is Thor: Love and Thunder. This would precede Deadpool 3, which is set to be R-rated and one of two adult-oriented films that they’re possible planning along with Blade, but for now, we can’t say for sure which pic he’ll debut in. Only that Deadpool is headed to the MCU and we’ll first see him in 2021.
