Master & Dynamic’s first truly wireless earbuds cost $299 and come in four colors
Master & Dynamic is no stranger to making unique headphones, but the new MW07 earbuds are the first time it’s dabbled in truly wireless earbuds. These AirPod competitors cost $299 starting today, last 3.5 hours on a charge, and can recharge from their case to reach a total of 14 hours.
Like any consumer hardware company, Master & Dynamic has had some design missteps but the MW07s are a step in a different direction: luxury materials meet portability. The MW07s use handcrafted acetate covers — just like a pair of pricey sunglasses — to give each earbud a completely unique pattern.
At launch, Master & Dynamic will offer the MW07s in tortoiseshell, steel blue, grey terrazzo, and matte black acetate finishes. PVD-coated stainless steel...

Apple reveals new prices for iPhone battery replacements that go into effect January 1st
Walking into your local Apple Store and getting a battery replacement for your iPhone is pretty cheap at the moment. Just $29. But when 2018 comes to a close, that temporary pricing — introduced in response to last year’s throttling controversy that affected iPhones with aging batteries — will be going away.
Ahead of that change, as noted by 9to5Mac, Apple has updated its battery page with the new rates that will begin on January 1st. In 2019, out-of-warranty battery swaps will cost:
- iPhone XS, XS Max, XR, X: $69
- iPhone 8, 8 Plus, 7, 7 Plus, 6S, 6S Plus, 6, 6 Plus, SE: $49
- All other eligible models: $79
People with iPhones under warranty or covered by AppleCare+ won’t have to pay anything for battery replacements.

Breitbart posted a leaked video of Google’s first all-hands meeting after the 2016 election
Breitbart published a leaked video from Google’s first all-hands meeting after the 2016 US presidential election on Wednesday, in a move that could serve as ammunition for claims that the tech company has acted in ways that are biased against conservatives. In the meeting, a series of Google executives acknowledges the disappointment and fears of many of their employees in the aftermath of Donald Trump’s election as president, while also acknowledging that the process was fair and that Google employees have a wide range of political opinions.
“Most people here are pretty upset and pretty sad,” Google cofounder Sergey Brin says as the meeting begins. “I find this election deeply offensive, and I know many of you do too. It’s a stressful...

How the iPhone XS and XS Max stack up against the top Android phones
Apple unveiled the newest generation of its flagship iPhones today, the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. The models share a lot of the features that their discontinued predecessor first introduced to the iPhone line, like Face ID and Portrait Mode, but now they’ve been fine-tuned and improved. One of the biggest upgrades is the switch to Apple’s new A12 Bionic processor, which is said to be 15 percent faster than the A11. It’s also notable that these features are now available in the form of a 6.5-inch XS Max, which is the largest iPhone ever.
One of the highlighted demonstrations onstage today was the ability to manually adjust the depth of field after taking photos in Portrait Mode. Despite Apple’s claims that “this has not been possible...

Beats headphones get new colors to match the iPhone XS and XR
Every few months, Apple refreshes Beats’ lineup of headphones with some new color options. We’re getting another one of those refreshes today, with colors that match Apple’s new phones, the iPhone XS and XR.
Three new colors are coming to the urBeats3. They now come in yellow, blue, and coral to match some (but not all) of the iPhone XR colors.
The urBeats3 are pretty typical in-ear earbuds, but they terminate in a Lightning cable so that they can plug directly into phones like the iPhone XR, which don’t have a headphone jack. They cost $60, which is a bit expensive for what are realistically some pretty basic earbuds. But that’s the price you pay for getting locked into the Apple accessory ecosystem.

Spotify raises limit for offline downloads to 10,000 songs per device
Spotify is improving of one of its most annoying, arbitrary limits. The music streaming app has increased the cap for maximum number of offline downloads, which was previously stuck at 3,333 songs per device (on a maximum of three devices).
As reported by Rolling Stone, that limit has now been raised to 10,000 songs — and you can download that many tunes on five different devices instead of just three. So you’re looking at 50,000 in all. “At Spotify, we’re always working on improving the experience for our users,” a company spokesperson told Rolling Stone.
Unfortunately, Spotify’s other annoying ceiling — a 10,000 track limit on your personal library — remains very much in place. That’s really the one I keep running into. Once you hit...

Apple starts offering optional loss and theft protection for new iPhones
The main downside of AppleCare+, Apple’s extended warranty program, has always been that it’s pretty much worthless if your device is lost or stolen. That’s been the primary factor that steers some people towards getting phone insurance through their carrier. But following today’s introduction of its latest iPhones, Apple is changing things up — and it’s going to start offering optional loss/theft protection.
As detailed on this updated AppleCare+ website, AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss protection requires an iPhone to have Find My iPhone turned on in order to be eligible for replacement if lost. This doesn’t seem to be something you can retroactively add to existing AppleCare+ coverage; it’s a separate, more expensive plan that you’d...

New Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil And Vile Pics See Zac Efron Transform Into Ted Bundy
While the last couple of years have been…troubling, to say the least, nothing in the entertainment industry (casting wise) has been as unusual as High School Musical alum Zac Efron being chosen to play former serial killer, brief University of Washington student (go Cougs) and one-time Republican activist Theodore “Ted” Bundy in Joe Berlinger’s Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile.
Expected to open at some point in 2019, the film boasts a cast of familiar cast of names like John Malkovich, Jim Parsons and even Metallica front man James Hetfield as one of the officers who brought Bundy to justice during his period of criminal activity. Though movies like this can often fall prone to miscasting and Efron hasn’t exactly cracked his clean image (Neighbors and its sequel probably helped a bit), he seems to be at least looking the part in these new shots from the set of the film which are currently making their way around online.
Told through the eyes of Bundy’s long-time partner Elizabeth Kloepfer, played by Lily Collins, Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile is said to focus on the killer’s charming personality more than the brutal murders that resulted from it. Bundy’s trial was the first to be nationally televised in the United States, too, and was covered by over 250 reporters from five different continents, so his story is a pretty interesting one and we can’t wait to see it brought to life when the film hits theaters.
Until then, though, tell us, what do you think of Zac Efron as Ted Bundy? Will the one-time Disney tween break away from being seen as clean by those who watch him on the screen? Will his casting be another wildly off-base choice akin to the time Emma Stone played a native Hawaiian? Or, will the piece just be forgotten and left to gather obscurity over time? Sound off down below with your thoughts!

The Internet Wants Nicolas Cage To Be The Next Superman
While the announcement that Henry Cavill would be stepping down from his role as Superman left many a DC fan feeling disappointed, some are choosing to stay optimistic, and suggesting that now might finally be the time for the legendary Nicolas Cage to assume the role.
As the actor who named his son Kal-El, it’s no secret that Cage is a fan of the Man of Steel, and there was once a time when it looked like he would be donning the red cape himself. For those unaware of this strange saga from the ‘90s, Superman Lives was a cancelled film that was to be directed by Tim Burton, written by Kevin Smith, and featured the endlessly meme-able star in the title role. Evidently, the movie never came into existence, but the film’s journey through development hell was interesting enough to spawn a movie in itself, with the documentary The Death of “Superman Lives”: What Happened? releasing in 2015 to strong reviews.
Since this curious project fell through, the role of Clark Kent has been played by Brandon Routh in 2006’s Superman Returns, as well as Cavill in more recent releases. Meanwhile, Cage got to be Ghost Rider for two movies, so we’ll leave it to you to decide who received the better deal. Now that Cavill’s seemingly out of the picture though, some fans on Twitter feel that the time’s right for Cage to finally stake his claim on the character.

HD Concept Art For Avengers 4 Gives Us A Better Look At Hulk’s New Armor
As we continue to make predictions and pore over leaks from the upcoming Avengers 4, Marvel Studios have yet to offer much in the way of official material. Nonetheless, the recent HD releases of some previously leaked concept art can certainly be credited for granting us a clearer look at the style and attire of some of the key players in next year’s blockbuster.
The newly shared images show us a clean-shaven Steve Rogers, Rocket Raccoon with his literal and figurative claws out, Tony Stark in a similar Iron Man suit to the one he donned in Avengers: Infinity War, and Carol Danvers rocking the red-and-blue outfit seen in the new Captain Marvel stills. But what’s more likely to catch your attention in this batch of illustrations is the Hulk’s shiny new battle armor.
The HD edition of the concept art allows us to see Bruce Banner’s alter ego in greater detail, exhibiting a sleek silver pattern with a little purple – a likely nod to the character’s classic purple pants. While it’s unclear how and why Bruce has acquired this suit, it’s nice to see that the Green Goliath will be playing a far more prominent role in the upcoming sequel after his limited screen time in Infinity War.
Despite striking a notable presence in the deliberately misleading trailers for the Marvel mega-hit, Hulk seemed unusually reluctant to join in on the action after his opening fight with Thanos. While some viewers believed that his loss against the Mad Titan must have given the Avenger a case of bad nerves, directors Anthony and Joe Russo have since clarified that Hulk’s problem is more one of resentment towards his brainier other half.
“A lot of people had interpreted that the Hulk was scared of Thanos. The Hulk has had his ass kicked before, and so it wasn’t like the minute he gets his ass kicked he’s going to run and hide. It’s really the notion that the Hulk and Banner have a very dysfunctional relationship, which was explored even further in Thor: Ragnarok.”
Sounds like Bruce and Hulk have some real issues to work through when Avengers 4 comes out on May 3rd, 2019.

Superman Writer Dan Jurgens Says Henry Cavill Is Perfect As Big Blue
To be completely honest, it’s quite difficult for me to choose my favorite actor to have played Superman. Within my lifetime, I’ve seen Christopher Reeve, Dean Cain, Tom Welling, Brandon Routh, Henry Cavill and Tyler Hoechlin each bring something unique to the table.
But if I had to pick out one whom I think looks most like the character if he’d stepped out of a comic book, it’d have to be Cavill. Granted, I did enjoy his performances as an actor, but when I look at Henry, I just see Superman as I’d imagine him.
That said, I’m among those who were quite bummed to learn that Cavill has seemingly vacated the role. Joining in my lamentation has been that of former Smallville producer Steven S. DeKnight and longtime comic book writer Dan Jurgens, the latter of which had this to say on Twitter:
“Not that my opinion matters, but I have always felt that Henry Cavill is perfect for Superman, especially with the right material.”
That comment about “the right material” causes me to believe that the legendary scribe may not have cared for at least one of the films to have featured Cavill as the Last Son of Krypton, but to each their own. Still, any positive words coming from Jurgens are high praise indeed, as there are few people to have ever walked the Earth to understand Superman as well as he. Really, read anything from his impressive run on Action Comics in recent years – not to mention The Death of Superman – and you’ll be a believer as well.
In the meantime, though, I guess we’ll just have to wait and see if indeed Cavill is ready to move on, or if he’s willing to give this whole Superman thing another shot. Either way, odds are we’ll know the definitive answer before long.
