Sega has now revealed full details of its just-announced Game Gear Micro portable console — or, I should say, consoles. It turns out that the four color variants are different systems each with four different games preloaded, no doubt in an attempt to drive collectors to buy them all.

Shaquille O’Neal Challenges Johnny Knoxville To A Boxing Match In Jackass 4
Shaquille “Shaq” O’Neal wants to fight Johnny Knoxville. The NBA veteran expressed interest in hopping into the ring together with the famous stunt performer while appearing on a podcast run by Knoxville’s colleague, Steve-O, called Steve-O’s Wild Ride! When Steve-O took a liking to the idea, the boxer mentioned it would make an interesting segment for the upcoming Jackass 4.
“I want to box Johnny Knoxville, because I remember when he boxed Butterbean,” Shaq told Steve-O, referring to a scene in the original Jackass film where Knoxville challenged professional boxer Eric Esch to a fight inside a department store, and got K.O.’d almost immediately.
Apparently, the former NBA star had expressed interest in fighting Knoxville before, but said that, for some reason or other, the daredevil had never taken him up on the offer. Intrigued by the thought of seeing his friend get his lights punched out a second time, Steve-O promised to put in a good word for Shaq and his idea next time he spoke either with Johnny, or the film’s director.
Why Knoxville has thus far refused to fight Shaq, no one knows. However, it’s safe to say he isn’t afraid of the injuries he might sustain while filming the segment. In a relatively recent video interview with Vanity Fair, Knoxville gave a comprehensive list of all the gruesome blows he’s been dealt during his lengthy career as a professional adrenaline junkie.
The most horrific of these injuries certainly exceed any pain that Shaq could inflict on him by a landslide. While filming an Evel Knievel tribute for one of the Jackass films, for instance, Knoxville attempted to jump a steep hill with a motorbike, only to fall off and have the vehicle land right on his crotch. Though the performer managed to not break any bones, he did walk away from the ordeal with a torn urethra.

More news is set to drop later today via Japanese gaming news outlet Famitsu. The promo shots show that the system will unsurprisingly run at least one of the (pretty good!) Game Gear Sonic the Hedgehog titles.
An image initially hidden in the Game Gear Micro landing page also revealed that the system will come in four colors — black, blue, yellow, and red — and be released in Japan on October 6th this year for 4,980 yen, or about $46.

Ryan Reynolds Donated A Ton Of Money To NAACP Legal Defense Fund
In a recent Instagram post, Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds announced that he and his wife, the actress Blake Lively, had donated $200,000 to the NAACP’s Legal Defense Fund. The donation was made in support of the nationwide protests following the death of George Floyd, an African American man who was choked after being arrested for passing and possessing an insignificantly small amount of counterfeit currency.
“We contributed $200,000 to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund,” the couple stated in their lengthy but thoughtful post. “We stand in awe of this organization and its leader, Sherrilyn Ifill. And this is just a start.” In the paragraphs that follow their announcement, Reynolds and Lively share their thoughts on the history of racial violence in America, and express their sympathies for the cause which the protesters are fighting for.
The money they have donated, an incredibly charitable amount compared to what some other prominent Americans have offered, will be used – among other things – to pay the legal bills of protesters who have been apprehended by authorities in the past few days, as well as offer financial support to various ongoing and future civil rights lawsuits.
After announcing their donation, the actors also pledged to stay informed about the country’s social and political issues, and vote in upcoming local elections, which have been judged as more important than state and even federal ones when it comes to preventing hate crimes and other such injustices.
Of course, Ryan Reynolds and Lively are far from the only celebrities who have shown their support for the movement. Earlier this week, actor John Cusack made the news when he was harassed by cops for filming a burning car in downtown Chicago. Around the same time, The Flash star Kendrick Sampson was shot by rubber bullets while attending a protest in Los Angeles.

iCloud outage took down some macOS and iOS software and web apps

Apple’s iCloud service experienced an outage on Tuesday evening, causing errors with account sign-in, iCloud Mail, and web apps via iCloud.com. The issues began shortly after 7PM ET, when user-reported issues began pouring in on Downdetector.com and across Twitter.
Apple acknowledged the issue on its system status website, as well on its Apple Support Twitter account. Many users started seeing similar error messages, including one that says, “The application you have selected does not exist.” MacRumors reported that some other Apple services, like Apple Pay and the company’s web-based app-specific password generator, were also experiencing issues, although Apple never acknowledged as much on its system status page.

New Star Wars Theory Explains Why Palpatine Saved Vader On Mustafar
Before establishing the first Galactic Empire in Revenge of the Sith, Palpatine went through apprentices in basically every installment, seeing them merely as a tool to help him accomplish his goals, but Darth Vader proved to be an exception to this rule.
We know that Anakin was integral to Darth Sidious’ plan to seize control of the galaxy and destroy the Jedi Order. While both Darth Maul and Darth Tyrannus (Count Dooku) were powerful dark-side practitioners in the world of Star Wars, they couldn’t even hope to match the Chosen One’s strength, both as a lightsaber duelist and a Force user. Learning the secret to master death and extract the essence of the living Force, Palpatine was planning to transfer his consciousness to Anakin’s body, who possessed an unusual amount of Midi-chlorians, even higher than that of Grand Master Yoda’s. And while Obi-Wan essentially paralyzed his former padawan and left him to burn on the slopes of Mustafar, Palpatine could still use Anakin as a prodigy of the Force. But is that what motivated Sidious to rush to his new apprentice’s rescue?
Well, it appears that Darth Maul also had a role to play in this matter. As his voice actor Sam Witwer explained some years ago:
“What’s really fun to note is that Darth Maul, having survived his grievous injuries, plants the seed in Palpatine’s head that maybe you don’t give up on these guys so quickly. If they’re dead, or you think they’ve been killed, maybe they’re not. Maybe they can survive, maybe they can amount to something. That’s something we get to see coming up, Sidious realizing that. That ultimately leads to Darth Vader.”
Apparently, at some point in his endeavors, Sidious realized that his apprentices could continue to serve his cause. This is probably why he decided to keep Darth Vader around. In fact, if you think about it, the Emperor had many assets, including the likes of Tarkin and Admiral Thrawn, who kept the order in the galaxy. So, keeping Vader around merely served as a contingency.
