Halle Berry explains why she accepted her ‘Catwoman’ Razzie in person

The movie may have undergone a very surprising reappraisal recently after the internet decided in its infinite wisdom that Halle Berry’s Catwoman wasn’t an unmitigated disaster, but a misunderstood and unsung camp cult classic.

The star herself even weighed in, asking where all these people were back in 2004 when the comic book blockbuster flopped hard at the box office after failing to recoup the $100 million budget, and yet still reigned as the highest-grossing superhero movie with a female lead for thirteen years until Wonder Woman came along.

‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ tracking for potential $200 million opening weekend

The highest-grossing domestic opening weekend since the beginning of 2020 belongs to Venom: Let There Be Carnage, which exploded out of the blocks at the beginning of October to haul in $90 million in its first three days in theaters. However, Spider-Man: No Way Home was always going to demolish that record.

After all, we’re talking about the most hotly-anticipated and heavily-hyped blockbuster this side of Avengers: Endgame, so the only real question is how high Tom Holland’s third solo outing can realistically fly. Looking at the chaos created when tickets went on sale earlier this week, No Way Home is poised to be an absolute monster.

Mahershala Ali explains what makes Blade different from his previous roles

With two Academy Award wins under his belt, Mahershala Ali has more than proven his chops as one of the best actors in the business. As well as his penchant for delivering acclaimed performances in prestige dramas, he’s also no slouch when it comes to effects-driven genre fare.

His previous blockbusters include sci-fi actioner Predators, the dystopian Hunger Games series, the animated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Robert Rodriguez’s Alita: Battle Angel, but he’s set for his biggest and highest-profile foray into studio filmmaking to date when he headlines the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Blade reboot.

‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ confirmed as 3rd longest MCU movie ever

Fans have become so invested in Spider-Man: No Way Home that even something as trivial as the running time has come under intense scrutiny, with some rumors even claiming that it would usurp Avengers: Endgame to run for three hours and change.

While that isn’t the case, the Marvel Cinematic Universe blockbuster has been confirmed as the third-longest installment in the franchise’s illustrious history, so be sure to visit the bathroom before taking your seat in the theater.

A shark attack sequel is swimming up the Netflix charts

The humble shark attack thriller has become one of the most popular subgenres in Hollywood ever since Steven Spielberg’s Jaws convinced an entire generation not to go back in the water over 45 years ago.

For whatever reason, the primal fears that come with watching a cast of characters being slowly whittled down in number by an oceanic predator has proven to be hugely fertile ground on both a creative and commercial level, and we’ve seen everything from the ludicrous low budget horror Sharks of the Corn to Jason Statham’s $150 million blockbuster The Meg take a bite out of the core concept.

‘I, Robot’ trends after creepy robot utterly terrifies the internet

Will Smith has starred in his fair share of blockbusters over the years, many of them taking place within the sci-fi genre, but it would be fair to say that the events of I, Robot stand a much better chance of being viewed as eerily prescient than the goings-on in Independence Day or Men in Black.

In the action-packed effort, Smith stars as Detective Del Spooner, who uncovers a conspiracy after the alleged suicide of a robotics pioneer. A humanoid robot named Sonny becomes the prime suspect, leading to the discovery of a wide-ranging conspiracy that could be set to culminate in the android uprising.

Dolph Lundgren’s forgotten comic book movie is a surprise Netflix hit

Dolph Lundgren may have shot to fame in the 1980s as yet another musclebound actor with limited dramatic capabilities, which was the style at the time, but his impressive academic background often gets overlooked when discussing his life and career.

The young Swede studied chemical engineering at Washington State University, gained his degree from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, graduated with a Master’s from the University of Sydney and was awarded a scholarship to the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology before his career took off after he met Grace Jones.

MCU fans speculate after “popular” villain is rumored for a return

One of the most recurring and entirely valid criticisms of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is that death is more of a semi-permanent inconvenience than an actual demise, and Loki’s continued resurrections have even been turned into a running joke.

Paul Bettany has been killed onscreen three times this year already, and yet we’re all fully expecting him to return as White Vision sooner rather than later. While the rumor in question doesn’t strictly name anyone in particular whether they be alive or dead, insider KC Walsh has nonetheless got the internet talking after claiming that a popular MCU villain will be back to act as a mentor to a newer hero.

‘Eternals’ comic book writer explains how Ikaris could return as Galactus

The impending release of Spider-Man: No Way Home may have shoved it down the Marvel Cinematic Universe pecking order, but Eternals is still quietly hoovering up those box office dollars, with the intergalactic adventure sitting on a global haul of $370 million heading into the weekend.

It also managed to offset a reputation as the franchise’s lowest-rated installment with both Rotten Tomatoes and CinemaScore by striking a chord with fans everywhere, which should realistically be enough to convince Kevin Feige and his team and a sequel is well worth awarding a green light.

‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ VFX won’t be finished until next week

A lot of filmmakers are open in admitting that they’re never really finished working on a project, it just gets taken away from them by the studio as deadlines for post-production and release begin closing in.

That goes a long way to explaining the popularity of the Director’s Cut, and it’s not unusual for major blockbusters to take things right to the wire. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has previous for this, with the Shawarma scene from The Avengers famously being shot after the movie’s world premiere, and it sounds as though Spider-Man: No Way Home is also cutting it very close.

The internet argues over whether Dumbledore, Gandalf or Yoda would win in a fight

When it comes to naming wizened sages from major blockbusters that dispel nuggets of wisdom to the heroes in their hour of need, who also prove themselves handy when the sh*t hits the fan and they’re forced to throw hands, three names above all stand out.

The Lord of the Rings‘ Gandalf, Star Wars‘ Yoda and Harry Potter‘s Albus Dumbledore are iconic characters in their own right, and each of them played substantial roles in a long-running series that boasts an army of fans. However, despite their individual successes and abilities, the internet has a pertinent question that it wants answered.
