<strong>নয়াদিল্লি</strong>: আগামী নির্বাচনে বহুজন সমাজ পার্টি এককভাবে লড়াই করতে পারে। আজ এমনই ইঙ্গিত দিলেন মায়াবতী। লখনউয়ে সাংবাদিক বৈঠকে তিনি বলেছেন, ‘আমরা সম্মানজনক আসন পেলে তবেই আগামী নির্বাচনে কোনও দলের সঙ্গে জোট করব। না হলে বসপা একাই লড়াই করবে। কংগ্রেস ও বিজেপি-র নীতি এক। দু’দলের সঙ্গেই দূরত্ব বজায় রাখবে বসপা।’ বিজেপি-কে আক্রমণ করে বসপা সুপ্রিমো বলেছেন, ‘রাজ্যে ও কেন্দ্রে শাসক দল বিজেপি নিজেদের ব্যর্থতা থেকে দৃষ্টি সরিয়ে দেওয়ার চেষ্টা চালিয়ে যাচ্ছে। ওরা নির্বাচনী প্রতিশ্রুতি পূরণ করেনি। এখন রাজনৈতিক স্বার্থে ওরা অটলজির মৃত্যুকে ব্যবহার করছে।’ সম্প্রতি মায়াবতীকে ‘বুয়াজি’ বলেছেন ভীম আর্মির প্রধান চন্দ্রশেখর। তবে তাঁর সঙ্গে কোনও যোগ থাকার কথা অস্বীকার করে বসপা নেত্রী বলেছেন, ‘এই ধরনের লোকের সঙ্গে আমার কোনও সম্পর্ক নেই। আমার শুধু সাধারণ মানুষ, দলিত, আদিবাসী ও পিছিয়ে থাকা শ্রেণির মানুষের সঙ্গে যোগাযোগ আছে।’

On September 20th, FEMA will conduct a test of its Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS), which brings together two existing alert systems, the Emergency Alert System and the Wireless Emergency Alerts system. This system will also mark the first time that a “Presidential Alert” will be sent out to a majority of cell phone owners, who won’t be able to opt out.

Here’s 7 new sci-fi and fantasy novels coming out this September to check out
HBO recently aired its adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s short novel Sharp Objects, and while I haven’t caught up on the entire thing yet, the first couple of episodes prompted me to dig my copy out to give it a read. I’ve been meaning to pick it up for years after a colleague of mine recommended it, and it seemed as good a time as any.
It’s a grim, modern gothic story, one that delves into the horrors of life on a claustrophobic small town, and the damage that people and families can inflict on one another. It made for the perfect book to delve into at the height of a very warm summer, and I’m eager to see just how well the rest of the TV show lines up with the book.

<strong>ইনদওর</strong>: বিয়ের প্রস্তাব খারিজ করে দেওয়ায় এক তরুণীকে কাস্তে দিয়ে ৪০ বার কোপ মেরে খুন করলেন এক যুবক। তিনি আবার মৃতার প্রাক্তন সহপাঠী। নৃশংস এই ঘটনা মধ্যপ্রদেশের ইনদওরের। অভিযুক্ত যুবককে গ্রেফতার করেছে পুলিশ। এমআইজি থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত আধিকারিক তহজিব কাজি জানিয়েছেন, খুন হওয়া তরুণীর নাম সুপ্রিয়া জৈন (২৪)। তিনি একটি বেসরকারি সংস্থায় হিসাবরক্ষকের কাজ করতেন। অভিযুক্ত কমলেশ সাহু (২৪) একটি হোটেলে ওয়েটার হিসেবে কাজ করতেন। সুপ্রিয়া ও কলমেশ দামো জেলার নবোদয় স্কুলে একসঙ্গে পড়তেন। স্কুলে পড়ার সময়ই সুপ্রিয়াকে প্রেমের প্রস্তাব দেন কমলেশ। ওই তরুণী সেই প্রস্তাব খারিজ করে দেওয়ায় তিনি হাতের শিরা কেটে আত্মহত্যার চেষ্টা করেন। স্কুল ছাড়ার পরেও তিনি সুপ্রিয়াকে অনুসরণ করতেন। কয়েকদিন আগে ফেসবুক মেসেঞ্জারে বিয়ের প্রস্তাব দেন তিনি। সুপ্রিয়া সেই প্রস্তাব খারিজ করে দেওয়ায় ক্ষুব্ধ হয়ে তাঁকে খুনের পরিকল্পনা করেন কমলেশ। বৃহস্পতিবার রাতে সুপ্রিয়া যখন অফিস থেকে ফিরছিলেন, তখন তাঁর উপর হামলা চালান কমলেশ। একটি হাসপাতালে ভর্তি করা হয় সুপ্রিয়াকে। সেখানে শুক্রবার রাতে তাঁর মৃত্যু হয়। কমলেশের মোবাইল ফোন বাজেয়াপ্ত করা হয়েছে।

<strong>নয়াদিল্লি</strong>: আজ ‘স্বচ্ছতা হি সেবা’ অভিযানে দলিত আইকন বি আর অম্বেডকরের নামাঙ্কিত একটি স্কুলে ঝাড়ু হাতে দেখা গেল প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদীকে। তিনি বলেছেন, মহাত্মা গাঁধী যে পরিচ্ছন্ন ভারতের স্বপ্ন দেখেছিলেন, সেটা পূরণ করার জন্য সমাজের সব অংশের মানুষকে এগিয়ে আসতে হবে। আজ ঝাঁট দিয়ে স্কুল পরিষ্কারের পাশাপাশি ভিডিও কনফারেন্সের মাধ্যমে প্রায় দু’ঘণ্টা ধরে উত্তরপ্রদেশের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী যোগী আদিত্যনাথ, বলিউডের শাহেনশাহ অমিতাভ বচ্চন, শিল্পপতি রতন টাটা সহ বহু মানুষের সঙ্গে কথা বলেছেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী। তিনি বলেছেন, ‘স্বচ্ছ ভারত প্রকল্প চালু হওয়ার পর চার বছরে সারা দেশে জঞ্জাল সাফাইয়ের কাজ ৪০ শতাংশ থেকে বেড়ে ৯০ শতাংশে পৌঁছে গিয়েছে। খুব কম লোকই ভাবতে পেরেছিল, চার বছরে ৯ কোটি শৌচাগার তৈরি হবে এবং সাড়ে ৪৫০টি জেলা, ২০টি রাজ্য ও কেন্দ্রশাসিত অঞ্চল প্রকাশ্যে শৌচকর্মমুক্ত হিসেবে ঘোষিত হবে। এটা ঐতিহাসিক দিন।’ আদিত্যনাথ বলেছেন, ‘দেশের সবচেয়ে জনবহুল ও দরিদ্রতম রাজ্যগুলির অন্যতম উত্তরপ্রদেশ এ বছরের ২ অক্টোবরের মধ্যে প্রকাশ্যে শৌচাগারমুক্ত হিসেবে ঘোষিত হবে। স্বচ্ছ ভারত অভিযানের জরিপে এমনই বলা হয়েছে। ২০১৯-এর অক্টোবরের মধ্যে রাজ্যের সব বাড়িতে শৌচাগারের ব্যবস্থা করার চেষ্টা চালাচ্ছে সরকার। গত বছরে বিজেপি ক্ষমতায় আসার পর ১.৩৬ কোটি শৌচাগার তৈরি করা হয়েছে। এর ফলে পতঙ্গবাহিত রোগ অনেক কমে গিয়েছে।’ স্বচ্ছতা অভিযানে সাফল্যের জন্য উত্তরপ্রদেশের মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর প্রশংসা করেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী। তিনি অসম, কেরল, তামিলনাড়ু, বিহার, কর্ণাটক, রাজস্থান ও হরিয়ানার মানুষের সঙ্গেও কথা বলেন। এছাড়া ইন্দো-টিবেটান বর্ডার পুলিশের জওয়ান, সদগুরু জগ্গি বাসুদেব, শ্রী শ্রী রবিশঙ্কর, মাতা অমৃতানন্দময়ী সহ বেশ কয়েকজন ধর্মগুরুর সঙ্গে কথা বলেন। প্রধানমন্ত্রী বলেন, যাঁরা স্বচ্ছতা অভিযানে যোগ দিচ্ছেন, তাঁরা ভবিষ্যতে স্বাধীনতা সংগ্রামীদের মতোই মর্যাদা পাবেন এবং গাঁধীর আসল উত্তরাধিকারী হিসেবে পরিচিত হবেন। জঞ্জাল সাফাইয়ে উল্লেখযোগ্য অবদানের জন্য আর্ট অফ লিভিংয়ের প্রতিষ্ঠাতা রবিশঙ্করের প্রশংসা করেছেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী।

<strong>নয়াদিল্লি</strong>: অনুষ্কা শর্মা বলিউডের ব্যস্ত অভিনেত্রী। তাঁর স্বামী বিরাট কোহলি আবার ভারতীয় ক্রিকেট দলের অধিনায়ক। দু’জনেই পেশাদার জীবনে সবসময় ব্যস্ত থাকেন। তবে তাতে তাঁদের ব্যক্তিগত জীবনে কোনও সমস্যা হয় না বলেই জানিয়েছেন অনুষ্কা। তিনি আরও বলেছেন, তাঁরা আর পাঁচজন সাধারণ দম্পতির মতোই জীবন কাটান। একটি অনুষ্ঠানে অনুষ্কা বলেছেন, ‘আমরা জীবন ও কাজের মধ্যে উপযুক্ত ভারসাম্য বজায় রাখার চেষ্টা করি। আমরা দু’জনই পেশাদার জীবনের কাজ ভালবাসি। জীবনে আমারা কোন বিষয়টিকে সবচেয়ে বেশি গুরুত্ব দেব সেটা পরিষ্কার। তারই ফাঁকে আমরা একসঙ্গে সময় কাটাই। আমরা পেশাকে অত্যধিক গুরুত্ব দিই না। আমরা সাধারণভাবেই থাকি। সারা বিশ্ব আমাদের পেশার জন্যই চেনে। তবে আমাদের কাছে বিষয়টি খুব সাধারণ। আমরা একে অপরকে পেশার ভিত্তিতে দেখি না। সাধারণ দম্পতির মতোই থাকি।’ অনুষ্কা এখন ‘সুই ধাগা: মেড ইন ইন্ডিয়া’ ছবির প্রচারে ব্যস্ত। তাঁর সঙ্গে সহ-অভিনেতা বরুণ ধবনও প্রচার করছেন। তিনি বলেছেন, ‘অনুষ্কার সঙ্গে পরিচয় হওয়ার আগে থাকতেই আমি বিরাটকে চিনি। ও অত্যন্ত বিনয়ী, মাটির মানুষ এবং দুর্দান্ত ক্রিকেটার।’

<strong>হরিয়ানা: </strong> হরিয়ানা পুলিশ শনিবারই রেওয়ারিতে এক সাংবাদিক বৈঠক করে সিবিএসই টপারের গণধর্ষণকাণ্ডে জড়িত থাকার অভিযোগে অভিযুক্ত তিনজনের ছবি প্রকাশ করে। রাজ্যের ডিজিপি বি.এস.সান্ধু জানান, এই গণধর্ষণে অভিযুক্ত তিনজনের মধ্যে একজন সেনাকর্মী, বর্তমানে রাজস্থানে কর্মরত সে। অভিযুক্ত তিনজন ১৯ বছরের ওই কিশোরীকে এক বাস স্ট্যান্ড থেকে অপহরণ করে। তারপর মহেন্দরগড় জেলার কোনও এক নির্জন জায়গায় নিয়ে গিয়ে তার ওপর পাশবিক অত্যাচার চালায়। তবে ঘটনার চারদিন পরও এখনও তিন অভিযুক্তকে গ্রেফতার করতে পারেনি পুলিশ। শনিবার হরিয়ানা পুলিশ এই গণধর্ষণকাণ্ডে দুজনকে থানায় ডেকে জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ করে। এদিকে বিশেষ তদন্তকারী দলের প্রধান নাজনিন ভাসিন রেওয়ারিতে এক সাংবাদিক বৈঠকে বলেন, ডাক্তারি পরীক্ষার পর এটা নিশ্চিত, ওই কিশোরীর ধর্ষণ হয়েছে। নির্যাতিতা ওই কিশোরীর বয়ান অনুযায়ী, তিন অভিযুক্ত তাকে একটি বাসস্ট্যান্ডের কাছ থেকে গাড়িতে তোলে। তারপর তাকে কিছু পানীয় খেতে দেয়।কিশোরীর দাবি, সেই পানীয়তে কিছু মেশানো ছিল। এরপর মহেন্দরগড় জেলায় এক নির্জন জায়গায় নিয়ে গিয়ে তাকে গণধর্ষণ করা হয়। এরপর কিশোরীকে কানিনার কাছে একটি বাস স্টপে নামিয়ে দিয়ে পালায় তিনি অভিযুক্ত। এখনও পর্যন্ত এই ঘটনায় কাউকে গ্রেফতার করতে না পারায় পুলিশের বিরুদ্ধে গাফিলতির অভিযোগ এনেছেন কিশোরীর মা।
