The Disney Plus most-watched list is typically dominated by the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Star Wars, the back catalogue of animated classics and their respective remakes, along with the rest of the Mouse House’s marquee properties, but sometimes an unexpected title or two can slip through the cracks to find unexpected success.

The most recent recipient is 1997’s Italian dramatic comedy Life is Beautiful, which gained widespread awards season recognition during its initial release, but has long since faded from the forefront of the collective consciousness.

Sure, Saw had run out of gas long before eighth entry Jigsaw appeared to draw the story to a close, but the presence of Chris Rock and Samuel L. Jackson was more than enough to generate excitement, especially when the former was also executive producing, as well as contributing to the story.

When the first trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home dropped last summer, plenty of fans were left feeling equal parts confused and suspicious by the behavior of Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange.

The Master of the Mystic Arts appeared to be acting very out of character, which inevitably led to him being pinpointed as the 438th Phase Four candidate to eventually be revealed as Mephisto in disguise. Of course, that line of inquiry drew a blank yet again, but it can’t be denied that Strange wasn’t his usual self.

‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ fans terrified about what James Gunn is planning

James Gunn has never been shy in admitting that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was always going to mark the end of the line for his association with the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s resident band of intergalactic misfits, outlining as far back as Vol. 2‘s promotional trail that he’d be drawing a line under his time at the helm with the threequel.

Cameras are now rolling on the hotly-anticipated cosmic comic book blockbuster, but on the plus side, we’re getting some additional content to help soften the blow via the Disney Plus Holiday Special. Of course, Gunn didn’t say we’d never see the Guardians again, but he has reiterated repeatedly that the current lineup will be bowing out.
