Razer’s new Blade Stealth has strong gaming performance in a thin frame

Razer has refreshed its Blade Stealth laptops for 2019. There are three new configurations, and each of them ships with an Intel Core i7-1065G7, one of Intel’s Ice Lake 10th Gen processors that features Iris Plus graphics.

Two of these configurations have 15W TDP processors, which would worry me, if not for the fact that they are also equipped with the Nvidia GTX 1650 discrete GPU by default. This year’s Blade Stealth is especially adept at playing graphically intensive games at fluid frame rates. According to Nvidia, that card can run Apex Legends at max settings, and during my time with this machine, it ripped and tore through Doom (2016) at a steady 60 frames per second on 1080p, with all of the graphical settings turned up to ultra....

Firefox’s latest version blocks third-party trackers by default for everyone

You’ve had the ability since October, and in June they made it official, but it’s only today that Mozilla’s Firefox web browser will protect your privacy by blocking third-party tracking software for all its users by default — theoretically keeping companies from keeping tabs on your online activity and potentially selling it to others.

That’s because with Firefox version 69, Mozilla just flipped the switch to turn on its Enhanced Tracking Protection for all users, instead of just new users (as it did in June) or making you opt-in if you want to try it (as it did last October).

DJI is now making you pay Trump’s tariffs when you buy its drones

Chinese drone juggernaut DJI has made substantial adjustments to pricing and availability on its product lineup in response to increased tariffs on Chinese goods imposed by the Trump administration. The price hikes were first reported by DroneDJ earlier today, and they represent perhaps the first reported case of a Chinese gadget manufacturer, or a brand that manufactures predominantly in China, passing the cost of Trump’s tariffs onto US consumers.

Tom Holland Reiterates That He Wants To See A Gay Spider-Man

Last year, Miles Morales made his big screen debut in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, showing us that audiences had no problem relating to a Spider-Man who was a person of color. But what about a wall-crawler who was also part of the LGBT community? Is that something that should happen and would fans be open to it?

The latter part of that question remains to be seen, but the first half has now been addressed by current Spider-Man Tom Holland, who reiterated that he definitely thinks there should be a gay Spidey. After showing support for it happening earlier this year, the actor once again said that he backs the idea, explaining as so:

“I think that would be a very progressive way to kind of create a new character,” Holland said. “So, yeah, I think there should be one day, and I hope that I get to share the screen with that person.”

While there aren’t any plans just yet to have a gay Spider-Man up on the big screen, Tom might get his wish should the rights to the webhead be returned to Disney and Marvel Studios. After all, Kevin Feige has already promised that the MCU will really focus on diversifying its roster of heroes in Phase Four.

Not only will we be getting the franchise’s first gay lead, who’ll appear in The Eternals, and the MCU’s first Asian superhero in Shang-Chi, but prominent African-American heroes like Ironheart and Namor, who’s often viewed as being of an Asian heritage, will be making their debuts in the next few years, too.

As for the chances of a gay Spider-Man, specifically, well, it’s not like Holland’s going to be replaced as Peter Parker. Whether the character’s rights stay at Sony or make their way back to Disney, Tom’s here to stay. But there’s no reason we can’t have two versions of the hero swinging around on screen. Especially with the concept of the multiverse really about to kick in thanks to Doctor Strange 2.

Spider-Man: Far From Home Sees 153% Increase At Box Office After Re-Release

Despite the boycotts and the alleged empty screenings, the re-release of Spider-Man: Far From Home is doing just fine. The new cut of the film pulled in $4.2 million domestically last weekend, which is a 153.2% jump from the movie’s sales the week prior. The flick’s United States box office earnings now sit at a whopping $385.8 million, which is just a tad below the earnings of Sam Raimi’s original 2002 Spider-Man.

Of course, many speculated that the numbers would take a dive following Sony’s high-profile split with Marvel. The former company has thus far been taking the brunt of the backlash, as petitions, hashtags and more have all caused the corporation’s stock to tank. The majority of fans clearly don’t think the new group in charge can make a good Spider-Man movie and are thus doing everything in their power to shame the executives into giving Disney back the rights to the beloved superhero, including threatening to storm the studio.

Regardless, Sony is confident that the webhead’s story can continue without Marvel. At least two more flicks with Tom Holland at the forefront are already in development and the star sounds like he believes the franchise is in good hands, even if the rest of the public doesn’t.

This positive Spider-Man: Far From Home news definitely gives Sony some more leverage when the two sides come to the table again this week, too. It sounds like they have a long way to go from the last time they negotiated though, so this development might not help things all that much. In any case, the clock is ticking on a new deal and unless one of these companies blinks first, fans will just have to get used to a world without Peter Parker in the MCU.

The Rock Celebrates Hobbs & Shaw Beating Avengers: Endgame’s Record

Believe it or not, a film has just toppled a box office record held by Avengers: Endgame. Don’t worry, Marvel fans: the superhero flick is still the highest-grossing movie ever made. Now, however, it no longer holds the distinction of being the longest feature to hold the number one spot at the box office in 2019. That distinction belongs to Hobbs & Shaw.

The record was previously held by a trio a Marvel titles. Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man: Far From Home and Captain Marvel were all the top flicks at the box office for three consecutive weeks before getting knocked off. Hobbs & Shaw has now surpassed them though by maintaining the top position for four weekends in a row. It’s the first flick this year to do so and the accomplishment has Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson pumped.

The star of the film posted a video on his Instagram this week saying the following:

“Thank you guys so so much for the incredible love and the incredible support…that you’ve shown Hobbs & Shaw. This past weekend, you made Hobbs & Shaw the number one movie in the world for four weekends in a row. That, ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, children of all ages, is a brand new 2019 record. The previous record held by our favorite super heroes: Avengers, Spider-Man, Captain Marvel. They held it for three weekends in a row and we have now set a new record. Four weekends in a row.”

Of course, the feature still has a long way to go if it ever dreams of catching the overall intake of the highest-grossing film ever. Hobbs & Shaw has pulled in an impressive $687 million worldwide, but that pales in comparison to the $2.79 billion Avengers: Endgame made at the end of its theatrical run.

Still, the success of this movie is nothing to sneeze at. The well-received spinoff will likely encourage executives to continue to expand The Fast and the Furious franchise. After all, the studio is reportedly already moving forward with an entire cinematic universe that they hope can one day compete with the likes of Marvel and Star Wars. Whether that’ll ever happen or not remains to be seen, but you can do your part to support the series by checking out Hobbs & Shaw, as it’s still playing on the big screen worldwide.
