Apple’s iOS 13 is running on 50 percent of all iPhones after three weeks
Apple’s iOS 13 update may have been riddled with bugs over the course of its first few weeks post-release, but that hasn’t had a meaningful impact on user adoption. According to the company, more than 50 percent of all iPhones were running iOS 13 just 26 days after launch. That’s slower than iOS 12, which took just 23 days to hit 50 percent, but not by much. If you count only iPhones purchased in the last four years, the figure jumps up to 55 percent.
The numbers look even better — vis a vis Android — when you take into account that most other phones are running iOS 12. Of all iPhones currently accessing the App Store, which is how Apple checks these numbers, 41 percent are using iOS 12 and just 9 percent are using an earlier mobile OS....

Google’s Stadia wireless controller won’t be very wireless at launch
You’ll probably be plugging in Google’s wireless Stadia controller when the cloud gaming service launches on November 19th. While it’ll work wirelessly while playing Stadia on a Chromecast Ultra, you’ll have to plug in a USB-C cable to use it with computers or phones at launch, Google tells The Verge.
When Google first showed off the controller in March, the company touted how you could seamlessly switch from gaming on your TV to a laptop or phone while using the same exact controller, without having to pair it to each device — because the controller would stay directly connected to Stadia’s servers over its own Wi-Fi.
But as 9to5Google spotted earlier today, Google recently added a disclaimer in a new Stadia explainer video that...

Chicken Run 2 Now In Development At Aardman Animations
2000’s Chicken Run was a global smash for British stop motion geniuses Aardman Animations. The tale of a cocky, uh, cock and a flock of freedom hungry hens proved to be box office gold, grossing $225 million. Nearly two decades have passed since its release but in April 2018, Aardman announced that they were planning on making a Chicken Run 2.
This made sense, as their next film, Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon hits cinemas this week and the studio has to be banking on it being a success. After all, 2018’s Early Man was positively received by critics yet inexplicably failed to make an impact with audiences, earning a paltry $54 million on a $50 million budget. Surely going back to their biggest hit and making a sequel is the kind of safe move the studio needs now, right?
Apparently so, as Will Becher, co-director at Aardman, has confirmed that Chicken Run 2 is now in production, saying the following to Flickering Myth:
“Well, all I can tell you is that there were a lot of chickens being made towards the end of our film [Farmageddon]. We have a model-making team and, at one point, it was just full of sheep, but slowly over the course of the following weeks it became overrun with chickens. So there is definitely an intention there and it was announced they are in pre-production on a sequel.”
So, how might a Chicken Run 2 look? Well, the previous movie ended with our chickens having successfully escaped and setting up a small community on an island. Presumably, that community could come under threat, with the chickens once more having to combine their forces to save the day.
One wrinkle that they’re going to have to work out is what to do with lead character Rocky. He was easily the most popular of Chicken Run, yet was voiced by Mel Gibson. The actor isn’t exactly persona non grata these days, but it’s safe to say there would still be some controversy putting him in a kid’s movie, right?

New Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker Photo Shows Off Keri Russell’s Zorii Bliss
Entertainment Weekly has shared a new image from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker today which showcases a mysterious new character set to make their SW debut in the movie that we don’t have much information about: Zorii Bliss, as played by Keri Russell.
Notable for her Rocketeer-like golden helmet, she’s been described an old friend of Poe Dameron’s who’s something of a criminal. How exactly she factors into the life of Oscar Isaac’s Resistance leader in the present, though, is the piece of the puzzle we don’t yet know.
Isaac has teased that TROS will shine a light on Poe’s past though and apparently, fans will be surprised by what they find out. Going by his past connection to Bliss, we can maybe infer that Dameron was once involved with the galactic underworld before he decided to sign up for the Resistance and stick it to the First Order. If this is the case, it’d be pretty shocking, as Star Wars comics have already established that his parents were heroes of the Rebellion.
Other new characters appearing in Episode IX include Richard E. Grant’s Allegiant General Pryde, who looks to be Hux’s even more evil boss in the FO, Naomi Ackie’s Jannah, who may or may not be Lando Calrissian’s daughter, and D-O, an even tinier and more adorable droid than BB-8. Dominic Monaghan is also on board as an unknown character who we recently got our first look at. Meanwhile, no one’s really sure if Matt Smith’s in the film or not.
Maybe we’ll find out more on that later this month, as a final trailer is due to arrive any day now, possibly next Monday, before Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker blasts into cinemas on December 20th.

New Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker Photo May Reveal First Look At Matt Smith
Fans have many questions about what’s going to happen in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and one of them is whether Doctor Who star Matt Smith is actually going to be in the movie.
Last August, it was reported that Smith was joining the cast of the film in a “key role,” with many assuming that he’d be playing some kind of First Order officer or major antagonist. Then things got murky. Smith began to shut down stories that said he was in the pic and his name was removed from Rise‘s cast list on Disney’s official UK site.
Theories on what’s going on with the actor have ranged from something as prosaic as his part being cut to him secretly playing a younger clone of Emperor Palpatine (take away the ‘M’ from Smith and what have you got? Think about it!). But now, Star Wars Direct have got their hands on a new promotional picture from The Rise of Skywalker that they claim appears to be Matt Smith’s character.
Well, I guess it could be him. I mean, Smith does have green eyes and if you really squint you can sort of imagine his brow under there. But that makeup is so heavy and reveals so little of the actor’s face that it could be almost anyone under it. Fans are split on Twitter as well, with some confident that it’s him and others not so convinced.
Whether it’s the Doctor Who star or not though, at least it’s a really cool looking new alien. I guess we’ll know soon enough if this is a major character in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker or just another background creature. If it does turn out to be Smith though, here’s hoping it’s a meaty part that he can do justice. Although, it’d be hard for anyone to emote under all that makeup.

Warner Bros. Now Eyeing Seth Rogen For Penguin In The Batman
Casting news for The Batman has been coming in thick and fast over the last few weeks. The long-delayed project is finally going before the cameras in early 2020 and we’ve recently heard that Zoe Kravitz’s Catwoman and Jeffrey Wright’s Commission Gordon will be joining Robert Pattinson’s Batman, as well as authoritative reports telling us that Jonah Hill was all but locked in to play either the Riddler or Penguin.
As of today, however, we’re hearing that talks have broken down, probably due to Hill’s pay packet. But nestled away in that story was the intriguing prospect of Seth Rogen being eyed for the Penguin. Yup, the affable stoner everyman may soon be stepping into Oswald Cobblepot’s dapper suit and getting ready to wave a machine-gun umbrella in our faces.
Then again, THR claims that though Rogen was indeed in the running at one point, he’s no longer wanted for the role. We’re not sure which outlet to believe, but in any case, while I try my best not to judge an actor by their previous roles – just look at how silly the people who said Heath Ledger would be a terrible Joker looked – I’m really having trouble visualizing Rogen being at all threatening or sinister. That said, he’s certainly hinted at some dramatic chops before.
In 2009, he played a largely straight, dramatic role in Judd Apatow’s Funny People, so maybe he does have a bit more range than his general choice of projects suggests. Still, if (as it appears) Warner Bros. is gradually working their way through the cast of This Is the End, I’d much rather see Danny McBride or James Franco as Batman villains over Rogen.
Regardless, expect to hear some confirmation of this sooner rather than later. Despite talks with Jonah Hill falling through, it’s a dead cert that Warner Bros. had been in negotiations with other actors at the same time and now that Hill’s off the table, we might see them moving forward with their second choice in the next few weeks.
