Kevin Feige Says Captain Marvel 2 Could Be Pretty Amazing
Though Captain Marvel has yet to prove itself at the box office, it’s clear that Marvel Studios intends for Carol Danvers to be one of the leading figures of the MCU’s next phase, and if you ask producer Kevin Feige, Brie Larson’s character is a heroine with serious potential.
In an interview with Screen Rant, the Marvel Studios head was asked about Captain Marvel’s future in the franchise and the possibility of a sequel, to which he offered the following cryptic tease:
“The making of a first film is in some ways a brainstorm on the future and on what can be. So what it will be again is not clear. But what it could be is pretty amazing.”
Evidently, Feige isn’t feeling ready to offer anything specifics about the studio’s plans for Captain Marvel, though Carol already has a pretty busy schedule ahead of her, starring in her solo debut this week before meeting up with her fellow superheroes in Avengers: Endgame. Beyond that, the studio may be waiting to see how audiences respond to the heroine’s first two outings before they set anything in stone, but as it stands, signs point to a sequel-worthy performance when Captain Marvel arrives in cinemas a few days from now.
So far, the social media response from early viewers to Captain Marvel has been overwhelmingly positive, and with the film outdoing Aquaman and Wonder Woman in presales more than two weeks prior to release, it’s clear that much of the filmgoing public is similarly pumped for Carol’s first feature.
Consequently, box office projections bode well for the movie, ranging from Researcher Exhibitor Relations’ domestic opening weekend forecast of $118 million, to Box Office Pro’s estimate of $160 million. The real test, however, comes when Captain Marvel hits theaters on March 8th, followed by Avengers: Endgame on April 26th.

Simon Pegg Undergoes Shocking Body Transformation For Inheritance
Simon Pegg is ripped. I know, I’m as surprised as you are. The British comedian, best known for his humble charm and sharp comedic timing, has lost four percent of his body fat and 19 pounds for a meaty role in the upcoming thriller Inheritance.
Now, with abs that stick out like clouds in an empty sky, audiences will get to see a new turn in the actor’s career. With a transformation similar to the likes of Christian Bale, Jake Gyllenhaal and Robert De Niro, it’s justified to wonder if the 49-year-old performer’s after something more serious. An Oscar maybe?
Then again, his trademark roles have been anything but serious. We loved his could-care-less attitude in Edgar Wright’s Cornetto Trilogy, and his comic relief in the recent Mission Impossible and Star Trek movies. All of which have garnered Pegg a loyal fanbase. Still, comedians taking on dramatic roles late in their careers seems to be the norm these days.
Take Steve Carell for example. Who’s gone from playing with sex dolls in The Office as Michael Scott to playing with dolls as Freudian therapy in Welcome to Marwen. And it’s paid off, too. Carell was nominated for an Oscar in 2015 for his role in Foxcather. Whether Pegg will find similar success, only time will tell, but if nothing else, at least he looks great.
Vaughn Stein, the director of the failed neo-noir B-movie Terminal last year, directs Pegg again in Inheritance and he’ll co-star with Connie Nelson, Lily Collins and Chace Crawford. The thriller will follow what happens when the patriarch of an affluent family dies, leaving behind a mysterious inheritance. It doesn’t exactly sound like Oscar bait, but we still wish the movie the best of luck upon its release presumably sometime next year.

All Ghostbusters Content Is Leaving Netflix This Month
What hasn’t been acquired by Netflix recently? The titans of industry have been spending billions to stream the hottest new TV shows and movies. Every month, though, we see titles that we love vanish from our “lists” and this month, it’s the endearing animated series The Real Ghostbusters, as well as the revered classic it’s based on, that’ll be disappearing.
Just two years after Ghostbusters released in 1984, the gang continued to answer the call for help in 1986. This time from box-shaped televisions at home. All things considered, it’s a lovely little animated show, and we suggest you check it out before it officially leaves the streaming service on March 31st. While you’re at it, you might as well rewatch the original – and its sequel – for the 100th time, too, before they recede to the world of daily renting on March 1st.
The future for the show, meanwhile, may prove to be less accessible. Once the 116 episodes leave Netflix later this month, our only option will be to purchase the DVD’s via Sony. This accounts for all seven seasons (1986-1991), with my personal favorite being the third, which aired prior to the show being re-named Slime!
In case you’re unfamiliar with it, Netflix describes the Emmy-nominated series as follows:
“Four eccentric paranormal professionals tangle with the bizarre and otherworldly in this animated continuation of the popular live action movie. Starring: Frank Welker, Maurice LaMarche, Arsenio Hall.”
RGB, as many fans call it – not to be confused with Ruth Ginsberg, as this show shows no restraint – is itself “bizarre” and “otherworldly.” The creatures are genuinely terrifying, and many episodes play like a dark fever dream along the lines of Argento, mixed with some of the cheesiest 80’s jokes you’ve ever heard. In other words, it’s a ton of fun!
And although the end of its streaming run might not be a “disaster of biblical proportions” – dogs and cats won’t be living together – it’ll still upset a lot of fans. The good news, though, is that you still have all month to binge The Real Ghostbusters before it’s gone.
